  1. Merced, CA ~ Centurion Boats has been a leader in the tournament towboat market for over 36 years and has recently formed a partnership which allows the company to share its success with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Inking the deal just days before the Atlanta Boat Show, Centurion hosted the first of three silent auctions where 30% of the proceeds above the minimum bid will go to support the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Attendees of the show started the bidding at $28,000, but battle began and the winning bidder took home the loaded Lightning C4 for $50,000. This generous contribution will go a long way in funding vital science that will help continue the quest to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. There will be more opportunities to take home a Centurion boat and show your support for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Opening Thursday, January 24th, the Oklahoma City Boat Show will display an Air Warrior Elite V C4 up for bid, while boating enthusiasts attending the show in Virginia Beach, VA can bid on the Avalanche C4 belonging to team rider, Adam Fields. At the Los Angeles Boat Show, opening Saturday, February 9th, team rider Ricky Gonzalez will put his completely customized Enzo SV230 on the auction block for bidders. Ricky G. will be at the LA Convention Center to sign autographs and encourage show-goers to make a purchase with a purpose, to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Be sure to visit http://centurionboats.com/events for the full scoop on boat shows and athlete appearances listed in the Events Calendar. The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Additional information on cystic fibrosis and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is available at www.cff.org.
  2. Centurion welcomed Canadian Kyle Rattray to the team at the Toronto Boat Show on January 12, 2008, with the support of local dealer Walker’s Point Marina. With more than 5 years of experience as a professional rider, coach and boat driver, Kyle is able to promote Centurion on all levels, from grassroot-groms to the top tier of tournament riders. He is widely known for his current position as a coach at The Boarding School in Clermont, FL along side legend Shaun Murray. Kyle also serves as an official competition driver for the Pro Wakeboard Tour, US Nationals, WWA Worlds and the US Open. In 2007, Kyle advanced to the semi-final rounds and ranked in the top 16 at both Wake Games in Orlando and the first stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour in Atlanta. Pushing further through the pack, he tied for 5th place at the second PWT stop in Texas. Kyle’s hard work and commitment to the wakeboard community earned him an 8-page interview in SBC Wake and his powerful riding has also appeared in photos across several issues of WakeBoarding Magazine. And, Kyle’s section in the newly released Gator Boards film Transgression is certainly worth watching more than once. While on the GB Fully Committed Tour, Kyle rode behind the special-edition Enzo SV230 and became convinced that Centurion built a quality boat that he would be proud to stand behind. He told us, “I love the wake! It’s simple to trailer, quick and easy to weight, and you are dialed for the day.” Centurion is proud to have Kyle join the team and promote our tournament towboats in the US and Canada, which is one of our largest and fastest growing markets. Kyle’s excitement for Centurion is spreading from Toronto to Texas with appearances at boat shows where he can speak first-hand of his experience and enthusiasm for our products. Check the Events Calendar for the boat show in your area and the chance to meet a Centurion team rider.
  3. It's no wonder Centurion has earned the reputation as the flagship of wakesurfing, we helped start the revolution more than 10 years ago. Designed with the deepest, continuous V-hulls for maximum water displacement and exclusive options to further increase your inland wakesurfing experience, Centurion boats create the largest, longest, fastest, and most powerful surf wave outside of the ocean. Continuing our commitment to the fastest growing watersport in the world, we have the most innovative options available, such as the SwitchBlade wake enhancement system to customize the shape of the wake on the fly with the touch of a button. Now, Centurion is the only boat manufacturer to offer the RightSurf system. Your friends may call you “goofy,” but we understand… you simply prefer to surf on the starboard-side. RightSurf enables a gang of goofy-riders to surf a clean face all the time with a right-hand rotation V-drive and propeller. These are just a few reasons why Centurion is the official towboat of the World Wake Surfing Championships, and more importantly, the boat of choice for more industry partners and world-class wakesurfers who want to push their performance to the peak of perfection. From shuvit 540s to surface 1080s, and big air indy grabs to lots of toes on the nose, Centurion knows what you need to wakesurf - without compromise, without compare. Contact your local dealer to find out how you can custom-order a Centurion for wakesurfing.

  7. Seventy-eight aspiring wakesurfers gathered once again for the 6th anniversary of the World Wake Surfing Championships, this time on Lake Yosemite in Merced, California. Landlocked wakesurfers, professional surfers and skim boarders alike traveled great distances, from all over California, Arizona, Washington, Utah, West Virginia, Florida, Texas, Ohio, Quebec and even Argentina for the chance to claim the title of World Champion in 2007. As a stand-alone event, the WWSC was able to accommodate more competitors and allow the development of nine divisions, all competing August 25th - 26th. For the first time, the Mens Amateur division was split into separate style categories for Surf and Skim, and not only was a Masters division created, but an equal counterpart for the ladies who are still young at heart. Each year the talent pool gets deeper and the bar is raised by rapid trick progression. This year, notable accomplishments included smooth surface 1080s from numerous competitors, bustin’ out backside big spins, a slew of shuvit 360s, even from the ladies, and an impressive aerial 360 attempt on a traditional surf-style board. But the prominent progress seemed to be in linking tricks and setting up combinations, such as a firehydrant-to-360, as seen from several competitors. This year’s event also encouraged a family atmosphere, with plenty of on-shore viewing, picnic tables with barbeque grills, a swim beach, cool refreshments at the park concession stand and the observation pier for spectators. As wakesurfing has naturally become a family-oriented sport, it makes sense that the event which supports this growing sport have the same environment. The 2007 tournament included competitors from age 9 to 69, and proved fun for everyone.
