  1. I took the boat out yesterday. When it will not crank, I can get it started on starting fluid then it will crank a few times. But, after hanging out on the lake a couple of hours, it wouldn't start. I squirted it again, and away I went. I am going to try the fuel-water filter next.
  2. I just went back to the boat. The pump make a noise for a second or two when you first turn on the switch. I unhooked the two wire connector and it didn't make any noise. I assume the pump is at least getting voltage. If it where bad would it still make noise when you turn the key? I know where the water fuel separator is. Is there another fuel filter? Thanks
  3. I am having trouble with my 2001 Concourse witha 6.2 Scorpion motor. I am not getting any fuel. I can spray starting fluid in the air intake and it will run until you stop spraying. I read in the forum where the fuel pump is located below the manifold and alternator. Of course you can not see anything under there. I stuck my hands down there and found a two wire connector. It was located half way down the engine block. It went to what I assume is the fuel pump. I tested it with a test light and with the igintion switch on, I didn't find any voltage. I checked all the fuses under the dash, but do not know where the fuel pump fuse is located. I have ran the boat a couple of times this year. The temp gauge stopped working last year. After running the boat about 15 minutes the buzzer would go off. I unhooked the buzzer last year. ( I know that is not smart). But, I have ran it many times since with no problems. I have not replaced any of the fuel filters before. I feel like the fuel pump is not working. But, is it a fuel pump problem or a computer problem or a power to the pump problem? Any help will be appreciated!
  4. Bigcatpt was correct. It was the impeller. It was shredded. The temp gauge in the dash never showed a high reading. I guess water has to be flowing for the sending unit to read. Thanks for everyones help! Tom Burke
  5. Thanks, I just ordered an impeller, oil pressure sending unit, water temp.sending unit and trans temp. sending unit. I figured it would not hurt to replace all these items anyway. If it fixes the problem it will be cheaper than a visit to the dealer. I might want the tester anyway.
  6. Good idea, I will try that.
  7. I have a 2001 Concourse with the Black Scorpion engine. It has 259 hours. We were just starting out on the lake and the buzzer goes off. We turned around and the engine stops. I had this problem in another boat, so I we threw out the anchor and waited an hour or two. It then cranked up and did the same thing again. I am aware that the computer will shut the boat down if the temp is two high ,the oil pressure drops, or the trans temp is too high. We had only gone 300 yards, so that rules out engine or trans temp. The engine temp gauge hadn't even moved. The engine oil pressure was at 40 lbs. Later on while I was trying to crank it, I did see it drop down to 30 lbs. But, I never heard any valve noise associated with low oil pressure. All the levels were fine. I just purchased the boat so I haven't changed the oil. (I know I should of but he said he had) I guess my question is how to test the sensors. Can you purchase a computer tester? I own a OBD II tester for my 97 and up cars. How do the dealers test the computer? I saw a connector on the computer but it would not work with my car tester. Thanks for any help!
