  1. Agreed. They do have the buying power and resources of Bryant boats, so material, labor, etc. should be manageable. Not like with a custom or small boat builder. I just think that the something like the Supreme line, take the new S211 for example, is a far better value, and that's likely going to hurt Wake Tractor sales. They just need to get the price down a bit and It would be enticing.

what is the S211 selling for, with QS, PnP and any other must-have optons?

  2. this statement makes me think that your feet placement might have something to do with it as well. if you are dipping the front of the board, your front foot is too far forward. once you get up, get your toes all the way over to the edge that's on the wake, then try to find your balance on the board by moving your feet forward/back. might take some time to find the sweet spot but everyone's foot placement is different depending on weight and how they ride.

I would lean forward on the board and as soon as I could get the slightest bit of slack in the rope the board tip would dip in and it was over.

  3. i'm 6'4", 215lbs and ride a 54" P5 Danielo Pro Carbon without any problem. it's technically undersized for me--i should be riding the 58" but i haven't had any problem with it. did anyone else riding have a problem finding push that day? it sounds like there was enough weight but it also depends on the boat and the speed. more weight is not always better for all hulls.

  4. it's a pretty wide lake at the far end. we got a place there a few years ago right by the marina, and the narrow end is good for morning and night surfing because it's calmer. they do have a skiing-only section at the narrow end, but IIRC it's only certain times of day. i remember it being deep enough for boarding, not sure about surfing as i usually prefer 15' or more when surfing now, but we didn't do that much back then. there's one ramp right across the lake from the marina, the only one i know of. it was plenty deep, but it's a tight area for driving the trailer and boat around, and backing it in. sorry i'm not more help on the location of all that, but hopefully it helps! take a look at a map and the stuff i said should make more sense.

  5. Thanks for the responses guys, it is much appreciated. I ended up finding a 2006 Tige 22ve, close to home and POUNCED on it. Deal isn't final yet, waiting for a mechanical inspection.

That LA avalanche definately looks like a scam, there is also a Supra hanging around on craigslist that is way underpriced with almost the exact story word for word. basically, "you give us money first, then we will ship the boat to you. no you can't come look at it, don't bother the shipping is already paid for" Yeah right...

nice find. my next purchase is going to be between an avy and tige 22/24v depending on what i find when that time comes.

  6. this is the one listed on the craigslist finds thread:

    http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/boa/5047408882.html

i think this one is a scam. i emailed the guy about it and got the reply "The unit is in perfect condition with no mechanical issues or optical damages. Currently it's at our dealership in Manassas, VA. We got it as a trade-in. For detailed pics and info , please reply with your email address. Shipping is handled by us."

seems a little scammy to have a "boat dealer" reply that it is a "unit". usually scammers will auto-reply this way so that it applies to any item being sold whether it's a car, boat, lawn chair, etc.

  7. if you're looking new, i saw a 2014 Supreme V226 Surf at the hartford boat show this past weekend for 58k with i think 1 hour on it. i was thoroughly impressed with the layout and with what you get for that price--surf system included, seats 14, had what i thought was the best bow seating at the show, triple ballast system, nice tandem trailer. no frills or touchscreen anything, but definitely a great looking surf and wake boat for the price. and they have one of the best surf waves in the industry right now. i've looked around at pricing lately and most seem to be in the 60k range, but if they were able to drop the price that much for the show, other vendors must be able to as well.

other than that, the avy is my choice of a "budget" surf boat lately, i've seen them as low as 19k in the past couple months (for a 2002). if you have the $, go 2006 or newer to get the better vdrive ratio and get the c4 seating, they can be had in the high-20k to high 30k range.
