  3. Deckadence Flooring

If you look through some of the DIY stuff on the Deckadence page, they offer a snap/button kit for DIY application. Here is that info: http://marineflooring.net/diy-marine-carpet-recs/ If you look through the DIY videos, I believe they cover the installation of these snap/button kits. I have been thinking real hard of a way to attach this product to my swim platform instead of the SeaDek/GatorStep type of products. I don't think the snaps would work on their own, I have been contemplating snaps combined with a strap system. This stuff does fell really nice under foot. To me it is the ONLY good marine flooring option.
  4. Deckadence Flooring

I contacted Deckadence a while back and they seem to be encouraging more towards doing this as a DIY project. You can purchase the material in sheets and template and cut to fit yourself for quite a bit less. If you go to this page and select your color, then select size it will give you your cost for the sheet http://marineflooring.net/marine-carpet-shop/ If you then go to the DIY Section, it has videos on how to cut it and seam it http://marineflooring.net/diy-marine-carpet/ Here is another source for the same product, otherwise Jim also has his "Jim's PVC Loop Flooring". This is similar, but not as thick as the Deckadence and is available in limited color selection. http://www.jimsmarineflooring.com/jims_pvc_loop_flooring

The only thing I am hoping for is that the Investment Firm that holds Correct Craft does not do to it's brands with what happened with Malibu. Malibu at one time was a great product. I believe the Malibu we see today is alive and profiting from great marketing. They have a great reputation that I believe was created by building a great product at one time. They clearly have been cutting some corners compared to competition - just look at the build quality compared to the Fineline products, yet they sell in the same price point. How long will Malibu hang onto carpet and bolt/screw in seat bases? I hope what is stated continues and the big thumb from Correct Craft allows the businesses to do what is best for each brand while still doing what is best for us as consumers. The new product looks very nice and is well put together. I just hope the tech holds up long term.

Not sure why you are coming with the attitude of "As much as you want to believe there is cross integration between Nautique and Fineline.... you should just forget that now.". My main point was how BEAUTIFUL the dash was. My second observation (not a want or desire) is that the screens between this product and the display in some of the Nautiques is similar. I understand your point that they are both to be ran as separate companies, but from a manufacturing standpoint, when purchasing from a 3rd party supplier, it would be silly for Correct Craft to not try and source the same product when possible across all of their brands...Nautique, Centurion, Supreme, BassCat... It is just good business to try and leverage any purchasing power when possible. If Correct Craft was not trying to stream line their product across all lines, then why not be different and source from Indmar for motors in the Supreme...because there is manufacturing buying power and they own PCM/Challenger. Again, now sure why evaluating a business unit and thinking that they may actually be looking for efficiency to either increase profits and/or keep the price down for the end user would be stupid.

I wonder if there is beginning to be a bit more component across lines at Correct Craft. That dash display could easily be the same screen as used in the Nautique G Line (Linc Panoray). That pic of the dash is BEAUTIFUL!
  8. I just wish I had abs, no need to brag about the size
  9. Dark, FAE is currently slammed, so their response time has been a bit delayed which you have to expect with a very seasonal business as they can only have so many knowledgeable staff. Did you do a custom welded or the multi piece unit? If it was a single piece welded, I also thought they would ask for measurements. We had some issues with ours and when I believed their were issues, I took some photos and did a write up and sent it in for them to review. This provided them with photos and measurements and also verified that the measurements I had originally sent in were correct. When they got back to me, they had already determined that there was nothing I had done incorrectly and that they would need to repair or re-manufacture it for us. Christina sent a return shipping tag to have it sent back. In our case, for what ever the reason, our down pipe was cut at the wrong length and didn't match up to the cut list for our part. Mistakes happen, just happy that I wasn't waiting to install it the first weekend we were dropping the boat in. Our boat is currently waiting on the part to arrive. Seeing as how we have everything installed, we can't put it in the water due to the open exhaust ports now. I was up front with when we thought we would drop her in the water and assume that FAE will get us parts in time.
  10. It looks like he tried to post pics, but they didn't load. I am seeing place holders with what looks to be a file name, just no actual pic.
  11. Wraps??????

Where do they stop the wrap at? At the water line, past the water line or do they actually tuck it up under the edge? I have always been curious how this holds up and stays attached to the boat without water getting under it and lifting the material. I understand they use it on vehicles that are in the weather, but not actually pushing water. Anyone have any input on the price range for a full wrap?
  12. I have attached a page out of the instruction manual that mentions the final measurement and how they want it between 1.5-2.5". You may have to adjust your mounting brackets to push it further down, if your tabs will allow and so it doesn't drop below level as noted. I believe these are the general instructions for all boats, but maybe yours was sent with a different set of instructions. Mine was a final distance of 4". To get it to the 2.5" mark, it was over a full bubble off level. Larry and his team have been great - they provided a return shipping label to send the old one back and are manufacturing a new one for us. We are just lucky that we do not intend to drop our boat in the water until at least memorial day weekend and the final install should be quick now. You may need to make some adjustments or send them some pictures and suggestions to get it dropped 1/2" lower.
  13. Surf Rack Options

I just received a set of racks from Piper. He is very quick to ship and it looks like a well built, well designed product. The pads and the required clamps for your tower are not included. He suggests getting the clamps from diywake.com as this is what he has his hole patterns set up for. I have not installed them yet so I cannot provide any feedback/opinion on that. I am however very excited to get these on our boat.
  14. If you are looking at what I am looking at, you will find that is a Craftsman Air Compressor.
  15. Here is a link to a video on the Roswell Aviator Tower. If you watch the video at about the 30 sec mark, he mentions that they have a flat mount for top deck to give it a more OEM appearance than the 4 post legs. I have been considering removing our old school 4 post (going in front of the windshield tower), patching the fiberglass and installing this to update the look of our boat. It will most likely be more solid as well and easier to fold. It would also provide an option to get a cover with "tower down" configuration allowing you to keep bug goo off your tower (assuming Roswell will rate it to do so with the weight of your REVS)
  16. We are just working through an install. If you have your boat sitting level (use the trailer) they want the finished install to be 1.5-2.5" higher than the center of the prop.

I just worked on installing my FAE this last weekend. Mine was not sent with the drain plug mount, but the trim tab mounts - same concept. If done correctly, you would not need to drill any holes in your boat. You will simply need to remove the existing screws/bolts that line up with the bracket from FAE and then reinstall them. You will need a small container of marine below waterline adhesive/sealant to put onto the screws/bolts when you reinstall them. Cross your fingers for them being screws, we had to remove 2 thru-hull bolts and getting to the nuts on the backside were terrible, we had to remove all of the engine dividers and a battery to get access to the lower part of the hull. This stated, alot of people will remove the screws and thru-bolt them after they know that everything is installed properly to strengthen the mounts. Our installation was not nearly as easy as I expected and the final measurements did not come out within FAE spec. I did a write up for them and they are reviewing it and will be recommendation what I should do different or will make a new unit if they manufactured it incorrectly. Ours was a fully welded unit, so I have no way to adjust as I could with a 3 piece. The service over there has been pretty great. If you read the instruction ahead of time, already have your sealant purchased, have all the necessary tools, screws and not thru-bolts and everything fits correctly you are probably only looking at +/- 2 hours for install.
  18. Swell on a FS33

Thanks! That is a CRAZY weekend for us. I think this would make event #7 for us to try and hit. I heard the Tige dealer is moving into the old Gekko building and having rentals of boats, pontoons and jetskis available. Their Open House is that weekend as well. Everyone must be trying to get things in before everyone heads out for the Summer.
  19. Swell on a FS33

Do you happen to have any information on dates/times for this? I haven't seen anything posted. (St Cloud Area for me)
  20. Great looking work! I am impressed, I really doubt I could do that. I had a tough enough time talking myself into drilling holes above the water line! What kind of sealant is everyone using on the thru-hull and valve connection? Our boat does not have a shut off valve on the water intake and I desperately need to install one. I don't want to simply cut the hose and barb/clamp it in. I want to do just like this and install it onto the thru-hull. Are most of the thru-hulls the same thread? If so, what is it? Thanks.
  21. Swim Platforms

Contact local dealers. Sometimes they will end up warranting out a platform for spider cracks, bad gel coat...Often they will hang onto the old platform just in case they need it. Another option to consider is making your own platform out of HDPE (plastic). If you search, there are a few people on here and over on the Moomba forum that have done this with 3/4 or 1" You can then get gatorstep and attach it. Seems to work well for quite a few people.
  22. Big Things Coming?

Any chance that this trailer could be for one of Centurions other divisions? Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
  23. I purchased my current boat essentially sight unseen last year, a 2007 model, so nothing new by any stretch of the imagination. I did some research on inboard boat dealerships in the area and arranged for them to perform a pre-purchase inspection. For the most part things checked out - they thought there was a leak on the v-drive (more on that later). I asked for some pictures and also arranged for a couple of Facetime walk throughs on the boat. All in all it made me comfortable with purchasing 1000 miles away. Based upon the price I would have paid locally vs what I paid, I felt that I could afford a few repairs if needed. I have a friend that hauls RV's so I paid him to grab it on a back haul. When we received the boat, it was cleaner than I had expected. For us, the nice thing is it already had several of the upgrades that I would have put into the boat. We ran it and EVERYTHING worked and it was shipped with the full maintenance records. I brought it to my dealer for an inspection and winterizing last season and it turns out that the VDrive fluid had just been overfilled slightly, my dealer didn't find any sign of a leak. This stated, our previous 2 boats were New 2013 and 2014 models, so we were familiar with VDrive boats. We just wanted to get out of payments, so when we sold the 2014, we looked for something we could step back into. With regards to the boat you are looking at with a walk through, I would also give consideration to resale. With surfing seeming to be much of the demand for inboard boats, this boat is most likely going to become less and less desirable. Just a thought. My experience with purchasing without physically viewing may be rare. I had a very open and honest seller that was willing to accommodate my requests for pictures. He actually suggested the Facetime "meetings". I was fortunate to know the hauler as well. Good luck in your boat search.
  24. Chaos Bamboo Series Ringer

Shaka, I had to contact Nick @ Chaos regarding the board I am working with him on and passed along your question. I haven't been seeing him posting too much lately, guessing that he is getting busy with board building. Since he was replying to my message, he included a bit of info. Again, I would just suggest reaching out to him via email or a call. He most likely will have some insight for you and I have never felt that he will try to "close a deal", so call him and a few other shapers and see what they have to say and go with what makes you comfortable. Here is the info: "The Ringer XLs will be lighter, faster and more nimble than your IS Red Rocket. They are a high performance big boy boards, that will carry riders into the truly big boy class. They can be fitted with premium Chaos Fins, the only fins actually designed for wake surfing. Surf fins are OK, but lack the extra drive that is need behind the boat. Surf fins are designed as generalist or designed for long drawn out turns, something you do not do behind the boat."
  25. Chaos Bamboo Series Ringer

I do not have experience with that particular board, but I have worked with Nick (Chaos) before. I had contacted him, explained what I was looking for, height, weight etc and he made a suggestion - even offered up a blemish board at a discount since he had one available...didn't even have to ask. He was spot on. He knows what he is talking about - used to and maybe still does Ocean Surf. I have been so pleased with my board and his service that I have recently put a deposit down on a custom board, since he didn't have a blem available. We are having a Spooner build...big cruiser. Since it is something that the kids will be goofing with, he suggested putting some additional glass on it for durability. Just reach out to him @ info@shredstixxusa.com SoulCraft gets a lot of rave review and they should! I have had the opportunity to ride quite a few of their boards and Jeff and his team put together great stuff. I think that Chaos just doesn't do as much marketing/have as many riders and is often overlooked. I decided to try Chaos because I have seen Nick on alof of the forums providing suggestions and support, even helping a few guys along building their own boards. I wanted to support him since he provides so much free support and I am glad I did. So, long story short, I would contact Nick at Chaos and if you are not comfortable there, reach out to SoulCraft, I have no doubt that either of these companies can build something for you that you will be happy with. Good Luck
