To all the BC crew, need a little info please. My wife and I have been considering a move from Utah to the Kelowna/Vernon area and would love to hear your thoughts on the surf conditions and life in general. The Lakes look amazing, would love to know more about the length of season, water temps, best lakes etc. We have a young family, 7 and 4 year old girls and were originally thinking Kelowna but it seems you get a lot more for your money housing wise in Vernon, not sure if it's too small a town though? Any opinions/suggestions would be great appreciated! Cheers!

Looking 4 a 2015-16 SV233-244

Nice FS33, what motor does it have? -
No problem, happy to help. Where are you located? We are in Utah, the two primary lakes we frequent are roughly 5,400ft & 6,100ft so performance really takes a hit compared Lake Mead for example (1,100ft) where the boat feels like it has twin super chargers! We have 2015 FS33 with the 450 motor, so I can't really speak for the newer direct injection line H5 and H6 although I've heard they're a great improvement. That said, my biggest challenge was finding the right prop to suit our usage, been through at least 5 to date! We like to maximize the ballast and have found that if we have a large size crew 6-8 adults + kids we sometimes struggle to hit 11mph. It's tough with anything larger than a 14.5" diameter prop due to clearance, so to date the acme 2079 (14.5x12) is the best performer at elevation. I have run a 15x12 with great results but it was only for a couple days so I'm not sure if it would end up burning the hull long term. I plan on testing out an OJ 15x13 prop this year, simply because it's probably the only prop I haven't tested yet. ? Anyway, these may prove to be non issues for you if you're looking at a direct injection model, but I'd suggest the H6 if your budget allows, rather have too much than too little! Perhaps some other members running the H5 at elevation can chime in?

Honestly, this is where the FS33 shines, it simply loves counter weight! You'll find most FS33 owners here run the bow bags full and 30%-50% counter weight, I do 40% on the non surf side, it keeps the nose down and the boat barely feels listed. This is the only pic I could find on my phone that kinda gives you an idea of list and bow rise. Hope it helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've found the quicksurf wave to be good, but the listed wave is simply great.! You get more height and push listed, visually you notice a steeper transition. That's not to say the quicksirf wave is junk by any means, I've actually found I can get a longer wave with quicksurf, so I think it's great for beginners and having fun with transfers but once you ride the listed wake it's hard to go back. As for switching over, the PNP settings typically stay the same so it's simply a case of draining & topping off the ramfill which only takes a minute or 2.

Fantastic info, thanks guys, we are flying out late January to look at some homes and get a feel for the area, any suggestions of things to see or places to eat etc?

A very different looking hull judging by the transom pics! Huge flat section before the V starts and the quicksirf tabs are'nt as angled as on other models! -

FS33 FS44 prop hull burn?
lovetosurf replied to Mrdeerwood's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Loved the 15x12 most but it was the only one that cavitated so I had to rule it out as I'm guessing it would eventually burn the hull. So for our lakes (5,500ft - 6,500ft) it would have to be the 2079 (14.5x12). It's the only prop that could handle all the ballast and hit surf speeds with a crew of 6 adults...barely. I will say the 5 blade 14.5x12.5 was a close second but for some reason was very inconsistent day to day? I have no doubt these boats need to be running at least a 15" prop to perform at altitude. I suspect I could even drop an inch in pitch and run the 15x13 if clearance wasn't an issue. -

FS33 FS44 prop hull burn?
lovetosurf replied to Mrdeerwood's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
For what it's worth, I ran a 14.5x13.75 for 70ish hrs followed by a 14.5x12.5 - 5 blade for 20ish hours, then a 15x12 for 15ish hrs and most recently a 14.5 x 12 for around 70hrs without a scuff from any of the props. -

Nice one! Wish I could replicate that wake on the regular side of my FS, it's nowhere near as long and clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
FS33 Surf Setup
lovetosurf replied to stoked's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
Good info, I always thought the standard FS33 ballast put out a great wake but have been toying with adding more. Would you say the additional lead makes a noticeable difference Stoked? Also, what elevation are you at and do you find it harder to maintain surf speeds with the additional weight? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Any new tweaks to your ideal FS33 settings? Are you guys always running full bow weight and if so do you ever have issues with the bow bag creasing up? Mine doesn't seem to fit very well! Current setup: Pnp's full Bow 50-70% Surf Ram 100% Counter Ram 40% Cats 10 Trim Tab 20 Speed 11 -

Here's a pic of the new switchblade "surf blade" in action. Looks pretty amazing to me unless the surfer in the pic is only 3ft tall! Someone please install one on an fs33 to see if it can turn a great wake into an epic monster! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
