  1. thanks to both of you. it is the 350 mag mpi and i traced every hose that would have water in it and the 4 should drain all of them including the two lines come out of the block. for the record I did use the search bar and never found one that said 4. now that i know 350 map mpi might be a good search term, i will try that as well. what would be really cool on this site that i've seen on other sites for cars would be a DIY section with PDFs of the the most common maintenance tips.
  2. First year winterizing a vDrive and I can only find 4 blue drain plugs... I keep reading about 8. What am i missing? (other than 4 drain plugs). Could it be different for different model boats/engines? The four I found are: Thermostat housing one One on the very back of the boat near the sump on the driver side The two lower ones in this pic, no upper one to be found
  3. i actually ended up putting the fittings in the front for the under seat sac. I didn't like where the vent hose hit... right where the wires run across the storage compartment. i tested it this weekend and it did an ok job draining. it actually seemed to drain better than the sacks in the back compartments with the fittings in the rear. frankly at this point i dont care! i can't believe i can finally put about 2100 lbs of water in the boat in 7 minutes!! awesome. now on to project 3... a second battery
  4. Thanks for all the comments. I think I may put the fittings up front and if it doesnt drain well enough I can always shorten the hoses and try the back location...
  5. Is that a reccomendation to put the fittings near the front?
  6. I am installing one of these sacs under the seat of my Elite C4 and am wondering if anyone has installed the sac with the fittings near the rear of the boat. If so, do you have issues with air getting trapped in the sac in the front of the boat because the fittings are all in the rear? For those that have installed with the fittings in the front. Are you able to drain the sac entirely? Thanks again in advance!
  7. Still have you racks for sale?

  8. Thanks for the replies. I love active forums! This has set my mind at ease for sure. The thread type is " Custom NPS/NPT". Good point on the PVC valve. This boat will be fresh water only, so I should be ok.
  9. I finally bit the bullet and drilled three holes in the boat. I am not too happy with how close one of the hoses coming off the brass valves will be to the vDrive. Has anyone used a 90 degree fitting on top of a brass valve? I know there will be some loss in flow because of the 90, but has anyone tried this? Has anyone tried cutting the height of the hull thru down? There is a lot sticking out and i could avoid using a 90 if i cut an inch or two off. Second issue is that i wont be able to spin the ball valve on. I will have to tighten the ball valve on the loose hull thru fitting and then tighten the hull thru. That got me wondering how people tighten the ball valves... Hand tight? Tighten with a wrench after the hull thru adhesive is dried? How tight has everyone wrenched these down? It seems that will teflon tape and the tapered brass thread it wouldn't have to be too tight. thanks!
  10. Plan so far. 750s in the back. Each on its own pump with valve to pump up just one with two pumps. 370 under the seat with its own pump and a valve to an extra hose to play with a fat brick and some 400s. I will likely redo aome of the center tank nonsense. No schematic yet.
  11. Thanks. I've searched like mad and read many people's blogs. That's where I got my parts list. This was just the first time I had the floor off and really poked around. PP installed tonight, ballast tomorrow! I'd just never connected the dots on the sprinkler valve. Seems like a waste to have one. More reading...
  12. Getting ready to do an install of an auto ballast system and noticed a few things on the stock center tank of our 07 elite c4. 1) why do they route the water from the pump, which is right next to the tank all the way through the back of the engine compartment and back through the storage compartment? That seems odd. 2) in the rear in the storage compartment there is a filter and then what looks like a small grey pump. Any ideas what that is? Thanks!
  13. I relooked. The prop is a 497... No wonder I couldn't find anything.
