Noise coming from belt/pulleys
sleevey replied to Holzy22's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
I had a similar issue with my 08 240....one of the nuts that mount the alternator to the engine came off and would cause it to get out of alignment when under way. It made a idler pulley bearing sound as well, but just neede to have a new nut put on the stud that holds the alternator in place... -

GPS Cruise Control varying speed
sleevey replied to sleevey's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Hey, I'll reply to my own post!! Talked to Les at Fineline and he has me up and going. The 2011 models (not 2010) antenna that is mounted under the dashboard behind the gauges gets weak and has issues with line of sight after awhile. Fineline sent me a wiring harness extension and I removed the antenna and mounted it infront of the windshield . Make sure if any of you guys do this, that the arrow on the topside of the antenna stays pointing directly forward on your boat. AND be careful drilling through the glass as there are right and wrong ways to drill it. -
GPS Cruise Control varying speed
sleevey posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Have a 2011 Enzo 240+ and last weekend, when using the cruise control, it would go way above the set speed, then drop way below..then keep repeating up and down like it was losing signal....but im in the wide open at the same lake I always go to and up until then it always worked great. Any ideas?? -
My Enzo sac un-plugs mine...I rerouted the wire and now it works fine....
-
Hello, My 2011 had the same issue. Bought two ground loop isolaters and the noise is gone. they go between the amp and the head unit...the rca's to each amp go into these, then there are rcas comiong out that you plug into the amp where the original ones went. They work great!!

2011 "MBQuart" radio
sleevey posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
The MBQuart receiver in my new 2011 240+ wont connect to my ipod.....yet it will play the songs on it, I just dont have any control of it, only volume. The receiver blinks "unable" and that is all. I have crawled underneath and dis-connected and reconnected ALL of the cables, they are fine. I am wondering if the unit is bad. Also, when the Ipod isnt in the dock, all the speakers in the boat chirp/click repeatedly, this didnt use dto do this. I believe I have a bad receiver.....what do you guys think? Warranty?? -
2011 Trailer wheels coming off!
sleevey posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
After getting my new 240+ this year I put about 600 miles on the trailer and c0ming back from the lake on a Saturday night, BOTH my wheels on the starboard side of the trailer came off. The studs all sheared off. It ruined the fender, both rotors, both wheels and the bolts holding the axles to the frame. After talking with my dealer and Sport Boat Trailers, I was told that they came off due to me not re-torqing them. Ok, this is the 7th boat Ive owned and now, apparently the wheels need to be torqued at regular intervals or they come off. I understand that aluminum "breaks in" so........ok, my bad. BUT, now on both of the front tires of the trailer, the insides of the tires are bald....ALREADY!!! Again after talking with the manufacturer of the trailer, they say the trailer may need aligning. It is obvious when looking at the wheels that they have a squatted, toed in look to them, even on level, which makes the tires ride on the inside, causing WAY premature wear. Has anyone dealt with this besides me? Im being told so. SECONDLY, after realizing how bad my tires were up at the lake, I decided to rotate them as I wasnt sure I would make it back without a blowout. The lugnuts would barely come off and the wheels were extremely hot, even after sitting for 20+ minutes, you couldnt even touch the wheel without melting your skin. The brand new lugnuts and studs are ruined.............they gauled up the threads as we removed them.....now I need new studs again and new lugnuts. I am being sent new studs, no lugnuts, and I have abouyt had it with this trailer. Ive owned 2 240 Enzos and never had a problem with the Boatmate trailer that my 08 had. Why am I having so many problems? Why am I having to pay for all this? Sport Boat Trailers told me to take it to a trailer shop and let them troubleshoot, and possibly align the wheels, but the heat these discs are creating, I believe is ruining the studs/lugnuts and probably was the cause for my first two wheels coming off. I have to pay for the troubleshooting too....so I am NOT Impressed. Anyone else suffering fro these issues???? -
Oh!! My bad, I'll try again man, thanks!!

This didnt seem to be the correct procedure for the 2011 MBQuart stereos........the buttons and menus dont jive with your directions...any ideas??
-
Hey man!! Thanks for the info!! Will try tonight!!!

Anyone out there know how to disable the "auto volume control" on the new stereos??? At low rpms it cannot decide whether to turn up or down so it constantly does both, sometimes really loud. Cant I disable this somehow??

2011 240+ MB Quart Stereo issue
sleevey posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Love my 2011 240+.....but I cannot find anywhere in my manuals on how to disable the "auto adjusting radio". I hate it. At low rpms it goes up and down, up and down, then sometimes it blasts to 100 on the volume control. I have to shut off the switch in order to bring it back down. Anyone else had this problem and have a solution?? -
Heater pumping water into boat
sleevey replied to Praesto's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
My cpre is in front of the drivers seat behind the plastic, carpet covered panel. I didnt winterize mine well enough either two years ago and when I took it out the first time i had warm water flowing around my feet. I disconnected it from the electrical and 2 hoses and had a local radiator repair shop fix it for $35.00. No biggie.
