So who has used their boat less than I have this year?
boatman replied to bcollins's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Dont do what I did. Got mad because we were not using boat as much as I wanted, put it up for sale and it sold within 2 days, guy drove 10 hours and paid me asking price, I wish I hadnt sold it. Now I want to replace it but prices have seemed to have gone way up. -

Scorpion 330 Vacuum line terminates to?

Definately worth checking distributor cap as well, my boat seemed to run fine just underpowered and would have trouble starting occassionally. Checked my cap and it was very corroded. -

Great news, pulled off my cap and it had the green icicles, even looked worse than wicked's picture. Will get replaced in spring. Kind of excited as maybe I have had this problem since I bought the boat. Maybe it will have more power and will be like a new boat. Actually surprised about how bad it was, as in Alberta we have very little humidity and this boat never sits in water and is always garaged. Oh well thanks everybody for the advise. I would recommend everybody check their dist. cap in the spring, very easy to do!!!! -
How often do you bilge?
boatman replied to DrNate's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
After my PSS install didnt have any water and could run all day ( 5 hours) and bilge would still be dry. I would definately get a flashlight and see if theres water coming from your shaft. I know with my old seal you could see the water pushing out the seal. Maybe the tension on the seal should be tighter -

Thanks for your help Wicked, I am going to do all filters, rotor and cap and spark plugs this spring, Im really tempted to go down to the storage garage and pull my distributor cap to see if there is any corrosion -

Is there a part number for the rotor and cap that I could get at Napa -

Thanks for the info, I figured since the boat has only 160 hours on it that it wouldnt need a tune up yet. I will get it done -

Sorry, just realized my bad grammer.(Does this sound right). No perfect pass is not on. Boat has always seemed underpowered, however I can get up to surf speed with enzo sac full and both hard tanks full. I have done this a couple times pulling the tube while emptying ballast (hate down time), boat seems to shudder or vibrate and will not plane or build up rpm.Would it have something to do will the slight lean of the boat. I will do a tune up in spring, but I need more weight because my wave does not have any push. -

Bought the boat two years ago and have put maybe 20 hours on it. I was thinking of changing filters etc. this spring, I sure hope that helps -

Last summer while I was emptying my enzo sack I decided to pull my boy on a tube, what suprised me is that I didnt have enough power to get up on plane, checked the sack and it appeared to be 1/4 full so maybe 300 lbs of ballast 6 people in boat. Does this sound normal, the boat sometimes seems underpowered but seems to run okay(Im wondering if its on limp mode). I want to get another sac for the starboard side but Im worried I wont be able to get up to surf speed. I know alot of you guys run alot more weight than I run, one enso sac and two hard tanks. 6.2 litre black scorpian with a 1579 prop 240 enzo. Thanks -
I have a hull bra on mine. Seems to work good but the back edge seems to rub on the gelcoat.Have the straps tightened right up but you can see the back of the bra vibrates quite badly. The guy we bought the boat from used tape to protect gelcoat but then you have that sticky residue

Its amazing that the old seals even work. On my boat the shaft does not come thru the stern tube exactly in the middle. So those rubber lip seals cant work very good. The Pss seems to be self aligning.
