Colombian Surfer

Finally got time to get away from work to head to the factory in Woodland. Taking my camera and will tell all of you how it was when I get back. I am excited!

I had Wet Sounds on my last boat and they blasted out everything else that was on the water. In the cove we would link everything thru the 420 and I had to turn down my speakers to keep from blasting everyone else out. If you are surfing or boarding then Wet Sounds is the way to go. Others had JL systems in there boat and it was not harsh sounding and easy on the ears. I just purchased another boat and I too will soon go thru what you are doing now. Since I will not be riding as much anymore, I need just inboard speakers, and I do not need to be loud. But at the same time in case I do want to crank it up around beer thirty, I can without wondering when they are going to blow. That is my opinion just FYI.

Troy, hate to hear that man! Well moving from NC to GA was a good move for me and if you can find something here in GA, there are 2 great big lakes that I am sure you will enjoy. They are not like Lake Jordan or Fall (muddy water) but have clean clear water. Another avenue is to try and look with the GOV/Military bases that might hire you. Great pay and benefits too! Also, the Air Bases herre in GA might be looking and find out what Lockheed Martin is looking for since they build the C130J model here.

Well a sad day has come that I sold my boat this week. I had been thinking about selling for a while and kinda tossed around the idea. Well as many of you know your friends will talk if they hear you are selling. As it happens, the word spread around like wild fire and I put out a sightly higher than normal price as I really did not have to sell it, but if someone wanted to buy, I have a price. Everything I have is for sale BTW, except the wifes Boob's! I had 5 guys try to get financing and they failed, BTW, I did not know they were trying as it was told me that one day they were telling others they were buying my boat. Then I got a phone call that one guy wanted to buy my boat and he had the money in hand. I was shocked, but said okay. Then my buddy called and said his friend wanted to pay cash for my boat and he had money in hand. So I called and had them both meet me at my Marina and went over the boat, took them out, etc... (The Sound system sold them I think, plus the fact that I keep it clean.) Both got mad at me when I told them to take off therre shoes and leave them at the dock, but that's my Rules and the boat is still in my name. So while we stopped for a minute to switch drivers, the 1st guy said he wanted it and give me asking price. The other guy, who had not driven yet, said wait, I will give you $250 more than asking price. Well it got into a bitching contest and they started uping the price on each other. I sat back and kept my mouth shut for the first time in my life, not to disturb to bidding war. As it may, one of the guys won out and the other was pissed. Got back to the dock, loaded up, the pissed guy left immediately. The guy that bought the boat called his wife to bring some more cash and she did, and I unhooked the trailer from my vehicle and hooked it up to his truck. Money in hand, went the next day and signed everything over. I must say that that day was a glorious day! I got out of the boat everything that I had in it money wise. I asked him how he heard I was selling and he said through other people. I asked why my boat? He said that everyone that sees the boat drools. And they heard how much of an son of a mean woman you are over keeping it clean. He said that is they way he is and that the boat would be flawless. I smiled as he drove away knowing that if you take care of your boat, the boat will take care of you. So what's next? Well you all will just have to wait and see now....

I am not out of a boat. Actually a friend of mine just bought another boat and does not have time for his 2006 Enzo. He said that I can use that boat anytime I want. Just fill it up when you are done. Can't beat that at all! As for the drooling part, I am sure the wife's 2 friends had a little to do with it. We will get another Centurion, except that it will be a much older one next time. I will keep my son active in the water and surfing but he already has a few friends that like to surf as well. So I imagine that he will do just fine. We are looking for a much larger boat, that I can't keep quiet about. Reason is that I will be retiring in 11 years and the wife and I will travel the Carribean by boat and I want her to get use to bigger boats and learn how to navigate just in case. There are so many foreclosure, short sale and bank owned boats out there that we will be able to get a nice 40 footer cheaper than a new Enzo. I will keep everyone posted as to what we get and post pics. So don't count me out of the group! Besides, with the bigger boat, I have more ladies and more ladies means more pics of ta ta's!!!

I called my old shop the other day, Choplin Marine, and was sadden that they are taking a break from selling Centurion's. I am hoping this is a minor set back for the NC people. Get Wet Marine is still carrying Centurion, but for the Raleigh people that is a haul to get up there. I will them luck and hope they start back soon!

I did not know they stopped before 2011. The store has always done me good and no complaints on my part.

Well as the GOV would have it, the Air Force is sending me to Ft. Sam for starting Oct 11 to Jan 31. The family will not be in tow and neither will be the boat. I will be back in Medical School out there but should have most of my weekends free. Did not know if anyone is located close to there or not. If you are, please hit me up! David

I will def look you up. As for the Sept Crew weekend, I will miss it. I will be spending as much time as I can with my son and family before I take off.

This past weekend I had a full boat all 3 days. It was not nice at all. Day 1: I had a few calls and people asked if they could come out and I said yes (mistake #1). I told them the time and as it was, no one showed up on time except a couple. I went to the lake without them and as I was pulling the trailer out they all showed up. Well they showed up with all there coolers and pooh but we made do and got everyone on board. Went to the cove since the lake was a whirl pool with all the tubers and such and we tied up with some other and partied. About 2 hours later some girl said she needed to go home and let her cat out. I told her that we are tied up and I could not go because of everyone else. She found a ride on a jet ski to get here where she needed to go. (Black listed) The others were later on getting tired and wanted to leave but I was not going to. So they swam to the shore and left. This left 5 of us and we stayed till 3 AM. Day 2: Main 5 wanted to go - YES - bad word insert here Cat girl wanted to go - NO - Shore swimmers wanted to go - NO and then my neighbors wanted to go - YES. (I should have known better). We go out and had a somewhat good time, except my neighbors smoke. My rule is NO SMOKING ON MY BOAT AT ANY TIME! PERIOD! Well one sneaky Pete tried and got ashes all over the front and seats and I got PISSED! I ask for the pack and he was drunk enough to give them to me and I wet the whole pack - no smoking - might saved a few years of his life too. Since we were tied up to a few that had cabin cruisers, Erika and I started thinking. Talked to a guy that used to be in my shoes and he sold his boat and told the people what time he was leaving and what day he was coming back. No one ever showed up again. I liked him already. So as we were leaving to head back from all the whining from the non-core, the one guy that I asked to pull the anchor up and I told him to please be careful and not hit the boat. What happens, he hit the boat! (Black listed). Day 3: Main 2 this time - YES - Boat hitter - HELL NO! - bad word insert here cat girl - NO! A few of Erika's Colombian friends - YES (Thongs and Topless) go out and tie up with the big boats and had a blast the whole day!! So this week we have been talking about selling our boat and getting a cruiser, something that we can stay the night out on since we get drunk at times and our son goes from time to time too. We need a place for him to sleep if he gets tired. We have been looking at something no smaller than 38' and no larger than 50'. Sea Ray's mostly. Then we thought about surfing and how we would miss it. My idea was to get a used cruiser and get an older v-drive, add sacs for surfing, and use it as a play boat. But she said that would be too much and I somewhat agree. Plus she said that we have friends that have Centurions and we can surf behind them. so would you miss your boat if you went a different route in boats?

Ok thanks Dave and Doc! So now I have all of my tower speakers for sale, Pro 80 and MB-8's!! 2 pair of Rev 10's are what is needed! @H - The cruiser will have a setup too! No worries on that! Can't have a limo without some ho music pumping!

WOW PO!!! Remember those threads when we all said not to get such a high priced boat? Doc, King, etc.. told you that within a year you will regret it? Wellll it is here. I do not regret my boat, in fact, I have been on the web looking for another, but a used cruiser, and found a few. So this way I can have both and not be stretched thin. I have a year left to pay on my boat and it is all mine. The NADA is still high and I am sure I can get out of it almost what I have in it. But you selling your boat and getting a house is a smart move!

No Beaching what so ever for this guy. Box anchor out front with the boat buddy, rope on the back to tie off on shore or I might use my spare anchor for the back. 4 Feet of H2O minimum!

This weekend I have to work at the VA hospital, so no boating for me. Next weekend, it will just be family and Erika's girlfriends (2 only).

@DavidEM - Will the Rev 10 and the MB-8 be a good pair or 2 sets of Rev 10's? I already have the 2 Syn4's as Tim told me to get those just in case of future enhancements. Now I know why. I am selling my Pro80's now and getting the Rev 10's.

Day 1 we did not have any kids. It is not often that we go to the lake without our son. But when we do go without him, we stay later so that we can visit with our friends and have a cocktail or two or three, etc... But the day prior I informed everyone what the plan was so that if they were not down with it, they can stay home. PoonToon's are fun and it was an option. A Houseboat was an option too. After a nice long discussion witht he wife and I let her read some of this too, she thinks that we need to keep the boat for the rest of the summer and if something good (bigger boat) comes along then we can jump on it. She is thinking about looking for an much older boat or just renting one for a weekend and see how we like it. The wife loves our boat and so do I, but I need to get a new set of crew members or ask for a deposit at the ramp! LOL!!! Either way, we are keeping it for now or the rest of the summer and look for something over the winter and work it out so that we can have both.

Thanks to all of the replies! Our lake is very large so there is always something to do. I guess I was venting more than stating my case. Because of the cost of our "toys" we all work hard to keep our boats looking good and we all want people to have a good time. But lately, I am getting more stressed out with people not repsecting the boat and I am having to go behind them and wipe up there spills, wipe mud off the seats, or pick up food they drop. I am just tired of careless people and I am about to call it all quits because I am just way too stressed. So the wife and I decided that no more than 6 people, including us, will be on the boat at any given time. And if you smoke, you can come, but you need to swim away from the boat to smoke. We are setting a time for you to be at the docks and what time we will be back at the docks. If you are late, find a way out. If you need to leave early, find a way in. If you break a rule, then you are black listed. We are looking for a cruiser, offically, and will most likely sell our boat and down size to an older Centurion unless I can talk her into keeping it. We will see how that goes.

Are you going to run the Pro 80's and the Rev 10? What about the MB-8?

Coming back from a weekend out on the lake and heading to the ramp, a much larger boat passed me and I hit his wake. I went over the first one and not to wash out the bow, i kept it nose high. However the boat slammed and a vibration started. Could I have bent the shaft or gotten the V-Drive out of line from the hit? I ease up to the ramp just in case, but there was not vibration when I was going slow. Any ideas? I am going to have my mechanic look at it this week.
