I haven't had to weight my boat since the suck gate and the length of the surf improved immensely. Weight at that point only helps.

Vibration when turning sharp while pulling load
lifesvr replied to natedawg's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
I have run into that issue with the 497 prop on the lightning. I think it's due to a little prop irregularity and pulling too much load when hard turning, as the boat has to work harder to keep a speed. -
I have this same hull, the best advice I can give you is to make a fake gate. I am more than happy to provide you with the dimensions for mine. Here is a shaky video I made of having the surfgate on last summer. It has completely changed out boating. https://youtu.be/8EN9PQixpJs

I have a homemade suckgate and it's super ugly but it makes one hell of a surf -

So apparently the boating Gods do not find me an acceptable soul for water sports on the fourth of July. Last year I puttee boat in for a great day of surfing and I blew the fuel pump fuse as soon as I got on the water. Of course I had no extras and of course the local store had none. On the way home from that mess the trailer brakes locked up suddenly shearing the caliper bolts onto the axel. Well that was it, boat was in for the summer and summer just started. So a complete brake redo from the surge actuator back to new calipers, a new rule filter, all maintenance done and I should be good for this year right?! So last week I noticed some intermittent starting issues that some guys have had in the past, checked everything and found the starter power wire was loose. Morning of the fourth I popped it in the garage to give her a quick tighten. Took my 1/2 wrench gave it a quarter turn and the solenoid housing falls apart!!!!!!! I mean it just crumbles before my eyes. So now I am replacing the starter and just for good measure the 50a circuit breaker and slave solenoid. Okay end rant. Hopefully I don't have to drink to may beers and throw too many cuss bombs changing this starter. Hope everyone had a good fourth, but are there any more fails out there, including head wringing crashes?

Trailer Brakes
lifesvr replied to lifesvr's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Hey skibumm how hard of a process was that -
Alright guys I need a little help. Last summer I was trailering my boat home, after a fuel pump fuse blew on the best day of the year, my trailer brakes locked up after I had to do a sudden stop. when I checked the brake fluid it was rust colored. I am planning on tearing the whole system apart this month and start troubleshooting I worry that my master cylinder is seized or some possibility that the break away line triggered. Anyone run into an issue as this and can think of the answer? Thanks

Aftermarket surf tabs on 2009 Enzo SV240
lifesvr replied to Idaho Mike's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
I made a custom wooden surf tab that I strap to the teak deck and I can honestly say it has forever changed how I view my boat. Having the lightning hull, I was a summer away from trading it in for a better boat, now with the tab I get a superior wave with no ballast. Before drilling into your transom try out a mock up. I was swayed from ever drilling into my hull for fear of rejection on resale. -

wow, I am having this same issue and I haven't had a chance to look at it closely, I will get the same thing a click and nothing, other times she fires right up. Thanks for your work looking at it, saved some crew members some time for sure. -
Need help to clean up wave
lifesvr replied to 7.5unlimited's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
From experience, and that being on the lightning hull a surfgate mock up should fix it, and its a cheap quick clean up -
