  1. I just had my two back hatch covers re-done by a local shop and cost me about $400.  I went with plain white to see what it would look like.  New skins from Centurion to match would probably be over a grand, but just guessing.

The problem is that no matter what you do (even new skins from Centurion) it won't match the rest of the boat because the older parts will have a little fade to them.  I think I'm just gonna save and have my whole boat re-done at the same time.  But I'm gonna wait until I can't stand it anymore.

The tracking fin makes the boat Crab slightly.  I personally think it's BS, as well.  However it does create that delayed convergence to make the wake/wave cleaner.

Surfgate makes the boat crab, just like CATS.  CATS is much less crab though,  even at the upper ranges it doesn't crab as bad as surfgate.

    interesting.  Learn something every day

CATS is no longer standard,  it's now an option.   This is due to MALIBU owning the "delayed conference" patent.  CATS falls under that umbrella,  so every boat that has CATS, Malibu gets a royalty check.

Even with the opti V hul,  cats is worth the $

I get that Malibu has a patent but I don't understand how CATS is a delayed convergence device?  It's basically just a large adjustable tracking fin.

I do not necessarily agree with this. I've found I prefer having two sacks per side because it allows me more control for wakeboarders and I don't have a ton of water sloshing all the way to the back if I only want partial weight.

I apologize, I should have been more specific.  For surfing, Enzo sacs are the way to go.  We don't wakeboard so I cannot speak to that.  I just always assume everyone surfs and nothing else

Good to know. 2010 model year manufactured in 2009. I'll have to relook but I thought I saw people mentioning that the enzo's left some unused space in the rear lockers. I didn't pay attention to the model years which could account for differences in the size of the lockers.

Yep, Enzo sacs are the way to go then.  That's exactly what they were made for.  It won't fill completely on the Starboard side but it will fill the compartment completely.

So I've searched the threads and I am considering 2 options to add ballast weight. The easiest is the enzo bags (1480 lbs) on both sides but  I am also considering placing separate bags in the rear lockers and bags beneath the mid-ship seating which would allow individual control of the zones. The addition of ballast pumps and engine divider panel support are a given (along with likely taking out the "sprinkler system" used to control water flow).

Question: has anyone fit the large 1280 lbs large rear bag from wakemakers into the rear locker? It measures 50L x 25W x 25H. I have seen numerous people add the 1180 lbs bag that are 5 inches shorter in length (45L x 25W x 25H) quite commonly. But if the 1280 lbs bag fits, why not. I am about 90 minutes from my boat and can't get there for about 2 weeks to measure. If anyone knows the dimensions, of those rear lockers it would be of great help.

What year is your 240?  If 2011 or newer then you will have to do separate bags due to the bulkhead they started adding in 2011 to add the Quick Fill tanks.  In this case the 1100's fit perfectly in the rear lockers.  680's for the Mids.

If you have 2010 or older then Enzo sacs fit perfectly.

Either way definitely ditch the sprinkler valves, they are horrible.  Best to run a two-way ballast puppy to each bag.

The grade of fuel that you buy does not make any difference to how fast it breaks down and goes bad if it has ethanol in it.  This is one of the big myths about fuel.  Most research shows you are just throwing away money if you are putting higher grade fuel in your car or boat above what the engine specifications call for.

I thought this was true as well.  It does seem odd, however, that some of the higher end PCM engines state in the manual that 92 octane is required.  I was curious to know if anyone knew why exactly

  8. I have used the Blue Sta-Bil in my boat on every fill up since it was new because I do not have ethanol free gas where I live.  Ethanol attracts water and for a marine environment, that's just bad news.

If I had access to ethanol free fuel like you do I would only use it at end of season for storage.

By the way, I've never had a fuel issue either and I'm at 700 hours

Thanks Rhunt. I have the exact same manual for my 2014. I literally read it cover to cover (more than once, as sad as that sounds), still does not say much about the Dex-cool specifics. Think I have found what I needed now tho, at least enough that I am comfortable with it. Gonna drain it as some point for sure this year, flush and put new Dex-cool in the system just to be sure its clean. Probably wait till fall tho

I have a local acquaintance that I recently met, he is driving to pick up a 2014 SV233, he will be back with it on Thurs if it checks out with mechanic, etc. He is fairly new to inboard game tho has owned other boats like most of us did before getting a wake boat. I will help him with service, has same ZR409 engine mine does....and of course we will get to play on each others boats this summer as well. Hopefully it checks out and he comes home with the boat so I can satisfy my OCD on something else now that mine is almost done and ready for the summer.

Infinity, if you do drain your coolant it would be SUPER helpful if you could take some pics and do a small write-up for how to drain the DEX-COOL.  I for one would really appreciate it, and I know others would as well.

I didn't see the pic of your boat without vinyl?  What was the problem?  Yours is a 2014, yes?
