When it comes right down to it, out of the 8+ local boating friends I have, only one of them is as hardcore as I am and always ready to go out on Weds afternoon/evenings. Since early Spring of 2017, we have gone out surfing together 9 out of every 10 weeks. 6-7 of every 10 surf trips, it is only us 2 (same 180 degree mirror law here thank goodness)....3-4 out of 10 times we have another 1-2 guys come out with us. To me, its one of the few ways I can fully de-stress, so I do whatever it takes to go out. Also blessed that wife fully supports my habit, tho that could be partly selfish on her part cause I come back happy, lol.
I, too, am lucky to have a friend just like this. And we de-stress together

Well that's a bummer. If you guys ever plan to go we'd love to meet you there. I'd bet Rhunt would be up for a trip as well. We all have family close by to stay with

Well first of all I assume you are talking about the surf wave? This hull will throw a mean surf wave on both sides assuming you have an A-plate, which if I remember correctly the 2015's do.
For the Port side (regular) wave you'll want about 2500 pounds total and NO BOW WEIGHT. So however you need to do it to get there. You can maybe fill your Starboard Ram about half but leave the Starboard PNP empty. You want all the Port side full as much as possible. Try wake plate at 50% and play around with speed from 10.7-11.0.
Everything opposite from above for Starboard or Goofy wave. Should be better than the Maliboo, not worse

Can't help with the codes but the oil should be 15W-40. And it wouldn't throw a code like that for low oil, so the dealer might be your best option
-
These numbers are crazy. I think I need to figure my GPH, but I can go 2-3 days (surfing only) on a 50 gallon tank of gas

Great Lakes Skipper sells many things that dealers have left over. Should be OEM, just make sure it's the correct cover for a 230

10 hours ago, InfinitySurf said:I might change mine out this winter if I could find a good write up showing exactly how its done....so far I have not found anything that is comprehensive with enough pics to make me comfortable doing it myself, cause I know at rear valves, they have to be turned some so plungers do not hit the dividers and also know the wiring has to be changed out since they are different (which did not come in the Valterra kit I got). I honestly have not had a single problem with my Drainmasters, but knowing the issues others have had, I am OCD about lubing them at least every other outing, guess that has helped me dramatically. I know its only a matter of time, so I will need to do it at some point, especially since I have everything I need except the wiring harnesses (least I think I have all I need, Fineline sent the 2 boxes to me last Fall)
There are many threads about the Drainmaster to Valterra switch, but I think this is the best one. Has pictures and even video:

If I knew you lived so close to Drainmasters place I would give you $100 to go over there and kick Doug in the shin. I have spent many hours on the phone with this guy over 6 years talking about failing Drainmaster valves, the reasons for it, and sending him the failed ones so that he can troubleshoot. When you're on a first name basis with the man in charge of a company for a very small but critical component of your boat that's never a good thing!

I believe this is it. It's titled "winterization" but it pretty much covers everything

You won't be disappointed, the pics you get with the water color are worth the trip. It literally looks like the Caribbean. Here's a pic of last year. Also, it shouldn't be more than about 5 hours for ya

I hate to say it, but there is your issue. I went through like 5 Drainmasters before I bit the bullet and switched to Velterras. It's not hard to do and I haven't had a single issue yet! Best mod I ever did

We were up there this time last year. It's a beautiful lake, nice greenish-blue water. I hear it's a little low at the moment so be careful!
I know there's a couple members here up that way as well

Man, it's just a guess but I think it was around 2 or 300 dollars. He said that he happened to have an entire front piece with all of the stuff already on it from another trailer that was trashed from the back. So he just replaced the whole front piece which was probably a lot easier (but more expensive if you had to buy it obviously). The piece already had the brake cable on it
-
That's a very nice and detailed write-up! I did the exact same thing and it was right when my trailer was due for inspection. Had a local trailer place do it for me. Lesson learned
-
I've never seen this but I'll bump your thread. Obvious question is have you inspected the valves? Are they opening and closing?
-
I like the Scamp as well but I like the Inland Surfer Ooze the best. The reason? You can put 3 fins on it and it is super stable. My kids both learned on one
-
If you got 5-6 years out of your batteries, consider yourself lucky and buy 2 new ones. I can almost guarantee that is your issue!
-
Well obviously you'd never pay MSRP. Where are you located?
-
My screen always acts funny when my batteries are low/going dead. I would remove both batteries and have them tested. Also, do you remember what your volts were reading while underway?

Hey, he went halves with his brother

28 minutes ago, Troy said:Yea the first stuff seemed like it would scratch the boat.
The second post, I called them and they said it works for gel-coat boats but they are not responsible if sand/dirt gets on them and the boat gets scratched.
I ended up going with Gatorbak bunk covers. They are for gel-coat boats and are options for Boatmate and other trailer manufacturers. They seem awesome, but expensive. Seems like the water will drain very well and last a long time. And if the board rots out, just unscrew the Gatorbak covers and put them on new boards again. I went with the "clear" covers and I am going to paint the boards before installing, most likely. And I'll keep this thread updated with the progress.
I think that's a good plan. My two forward deepest bunks wear the fastest. I've already done them once and they are almost due again. Pics would be awesome Troy!
Wow, I just went to their website. The ones with LED's look sweet!

That's a beautiful boat. When you get it set up, I would be curious as to your thoughts on the surf wave and how it compares to the G25. And how was the surf wave on the G25 compared to the M235?
