  1. Just something I learned today. Tried to get a quote for a part and Fineline is making me go through a dealer I have never met (7 hours away). I used to buy all kinds of parts directly through Fineline. No longer. Reason #257 why I will never buy another Centurion
  2. Yep, same with my boat Bongo. I get around it by putting the swivel board racks down so that when I lower my tower they rest on the gunnels. I then use heavy duty folded tarp that is about 4 inches thick to rest between racks and gunnels which puts my NAV light about an inch off of the vinyl. Stinks too because my storage place is only about an inch too low. I may start experimenting with ways to keep the tower up even higher. I think it's worth it for this Sewlong bimini! Fineline wants $2K for an OEM bimini by the way. More than the Sewlong one!
  3. Well I was told by Fineline that the newest dealer to me now is Ski Dock in Austin, Texas. I called them today to inquire about parts and they confirmed that they have just become a Centurion Dealer, literally weeks ago. I assume they are switching from Tige, which they have carried for quite some time. It's still about a 5 hour drive from me, but I'm excited to see what they will do with the line and it will be good to see more Centurions in Central/South Texas. Not to mention if I need something done other than service.
  4. Well I just wanted to update this thread for future reference. I called Sewlong again and spoke to someone over there who really seemed to know what he was talking about. Very friendly also I must say. Together we decided after much discussion that their bimini would not work in my situation because I lower my tower for storage after every outing and their bimini hangs off the back of the tower enough that it would be laying across my back seats making an indention. The other option is to remove the bimini tubing every time and that is really not practical to do. So for anyone considering this bimini who has to lower their tower for storage, this probably won't work. I was bummed too as I am sick of the factory bimini but will just have to order a new one and make do.
  5. Thanks for the responses guys. Has anyone lowered their tower with one on? This may be the deal breaker for me. The quality does seem exceptional and it HAS to be easier to put up and take down than the factory one.
  6. These are all valid responses and that is why I posted the topic to begin with. For the record, my "dealer" that I bought the boat from new in 2011 stopped selling Centurions the very next year and was also 5 hours away to begin with. So I've never really had a dealer in the first place and enjoyed working directly with Fineline for warranty parts shipped directly to me for the first 2-3 years (and, unfortunately, there were many), I either had to install or replace myself or pay a local shop to do the work for me. I understand not too many boat manufacturers do this and I also understand that it's not efficient or cost effective or whatever but Fineline used to do it and this was one thing that used to set them apart. I understand times change, I get it. Doesn't mean I have to like it. And the 257 was perhaps an unnecessary jab. One day I will list the other 256 reasons in a very lengthy thread in case anyone wants to read it.
  7. My son just got a new board, the Phase 5 Race. I just posted about it in the equipment section, but had to post it up here. This video was early on when he was just learning it but it was fun to see him progress so fast! I think he's officially better than me. He needs sponsors
  8. new board advice

Well I pulled the trigger and wanted to update this thread with a couple of pictures. Hopefully I will have some video coming as well. I bought a last year's model at BoardCO and they are awesome to deal with. They have a ride and return policy, too, by the way, which is kind of unheard of in my opinion. Anyway, my son fell in love with the Race. He said it was faster and more responsive than what he was used to and it was fun to watch him progress his riding in one outing! He weighs 140 lbs. and P5 says the Race is good for up to about 165, so he'll be good for a couple years. Stoked Dad here!
  9. I am resurrecting this old thread. For those of you that are still using these, what are your thoughts now? By the way 2017 pricing is $1695 without and $1995 with the surf pockets And maybe for those of you who have the factory bimini, what do you think about this?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_LM6zeH5S0 My concern is that I'm not sure it's any easier to take down and put up than the factory one. Also, I have to lower my tower to fit into storage and I don't think this one would let me do that. Further, I think the clamps are cheesy and I don't like the idea of drilling more holes into my tower. Thoughts?
  10. Just to update this thread. RHunt checked all of the fuses and breakers, reset them all, turned batteries off and back on, rebooted and everything worked perfectly all day. Easy fix this time.
  11. 2014 SV 233. After trailering, GPS and CATS not working. Thoughts?
  12. Fi rumors

I'm not gonna lie, I think I'm in love
  13. Hey, pumps are cheap. Worth it to keep your sanity.
  14. Just a thought but could it be as simple as the pump has lost prime? Try filling with the boat moving or a fake a lake stuck to the intake maybe?
  15. I guess I could see that
  16. Enzo sacs

I agree with BigCat and also would add that if you are surfing goofy I would look into getting an asymmetrical wakeplate. Only thing I don't know is how that fits with a Switchblade but it is supposed to clean up the goofy side
  17. why do you care? Are you racing someone? I have no idea how fast my boat will go, I have never even had it at WOT nor do I care to. It's a surf boat
  18. cruise control advice

Completely off the top of my head, but the cruise ON/OFF button is the upper right one. It is also the "select rider" button, which is where you go in and set up rider profiles.
  19. Yeah, don't push them too hard. I did and now they're taking all of my turns.
  20. new board advice

That seems like more of a skim style board. I've ridden the Daniello, it's fun.
  21. That's a good looking boat and you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it. Just might be more of an out of state buyer who might be interested. The more patience you have the more you'll likely get for it. $59.5K seems like a good deal to me but expect people to offer you less just so they can say they tried. Gook luck with the sale
  22. new board advice

Looking at the Phase 5 Race. Seems to be the perfect size. Any thoughts on this board? This one's a blem http://www.evo.com/outlet/wakesurf-boards/phase-five-race-board.aspx#image=113794/471060/phase-five-race-wakesurf-board-2016-50-5-.jpg
  23. I have owned and ridden a Sweet Spot and I would say Cwazy is right on with his analysis. I would also say that I have owned and/or ridden about 20 different wakesurf boards over the years and when I ordered my newest Soulcraft from Jeff with the exact specs I wanted (in collaboration with him) I have since sold every other board that I owned. It is that good. Everyone who rides it agrees without prompting that it is the best board they have ever ridden *this excludes my 9 foot longboard, that is a different kind of addiction
  24. After watching your video, I'm gonna say the board is an issue--it looks slow and unresponsive to me. In my opinion you're too far back on the board also. Scoot up a bit and you should be propelled forward toward the boat. Remember, to speed up, you want to lean forward and toeside on the board. To slow down, you want to lean back and heelside. Small corrections, and you'll start to find the sweet spot and get slack in the rope. Wave looks decent. Not great, but decent.
  25. Just reading through this thread and just wanted to point out that the Centurion Enzo 244 (I have a 240) and the Supreme 238 hulls are different so you are comparing apples and oranges. I know nothing about the 238 so I can't help but seems like you are getting sound advice here. I will say that my Enzo does not need a suckgate. My listed wave is as good as it gets (except for maybe the newer RI's). I have a buddy who weights 350 pounds (no joke) and surfs my 5'4" surf style board behind it like it's cool. You'll get there. I'll be following along
