impeller replace help mercruiser 350 mag mpi 2004

ok, on first start up and idle the engine overheats and alarm goes off. IF I speed up some water pressure seems to build and cooling temps come down. The boat is 04 centurion elite bow rider. I assume impellor never been changed so I want to do it. here are a few questions i have: 1.) HOw can i tell if i have Bravo or Alpha eninge? 2.) what is impellor part number? 3.) should i but the kit and plan to rebuilt water pump? someone told me i would have the Brass housing and it would be trashed... I have not taken it off yet I would like to have part ready to replace it at min. the impellor. OF course I need the boat badly this sat. jeff H -
