  1. Here's the deal, had the boat serviced this winter, oil, trans..ect Took the boat out last week for the first time this year and had a great time. About 4 hours on the water, boat ran great! Oh yeah, it's an 06' T5 Air warrior 330 blk scrp. Anyway, got it home and opened things up for proper dry out and noticed several oz's of tranny fluid in the bilge. It appeared to be coming from the breather vent on top of the velvet drive transmission. I guess my question is was this thing overfilled? Fluid looks good, clear and red. Could it be a gasket at only 60 hrs? Can overfilling be damaging to the tranny? The stick reads just over full while it's cold, haven’t been able to check it hot yet. Cleaned everything up and going to get it in the water soon to see what it does, hopefully it's done bleeding off any extra fluid. Boat only has 60 hrs and was perfect before the service. Any tranny experts out there? Any suggestions? Thank's for the help guy's!
  2. Yes, the fluid will expand when hot, however, when cold the cooler lines drain into the pan while other areas of fluid settle therefore making it very difficult to get an accurate reading, or so I’ve been told. Not to mention the angle of the boat as it sits on the trailer. The local centurion dealer told me that the dip stick may or may not read accurate at all while cold. Because they cannot heat the tranny to norm operating temp's with just a fake-a-lake, they extract all the fluid and replenish according to transmission spec and model#. I'm no mechanic but it sounded good to me.
  3. Thats correct, it was overfilled. However, it must depend on the boat and/or transmission because some guy's are saying their dip stick reads low when cold and on the full mark when hot, mine seem's to be the opposite. I was also told if the tranny is slipping it will spit fluid out of that same breather vent. Hope 30 min on the water was enough time to check for fluid spit up, I guess the real test will be another 3-4hr trip on the water to get the tranny nice and hot. At this point i'm 90% sure it was overfilled.
  4. I did, the dip stick was on the money when checked hot. Cold it's about 1/8th of an inch over the full mark.
  5. Thanks for the help guy's! Took the boat out yeterday and ran it hard to see if I could get it to leak, but noth'n. Guess it was just overfilled and all of the extra fluid was released from the breather vent that previous trip to the lake. Thank's again!

  8. Just purchased a Centurion T5, until recently I did not know this was a composite/ wood mixed boat. Contacted Centurion and they informed me the T5 boats produced in Merced CA were built w/ wood stringers and floor, the T5's built in NC were all composite. Is this a big deal? should I be concerned that I have these wood structural components in the boat? Are there pro's or con's to this type of construction? Thanks in advance for the info!
  9. Thanks for the info, again my only concern was hidden or traped water from an all weekend lake trip but I'm sure these boats are manufactured with that thought in mind. Other then that the boat feels and drives like a sports car. Thanks again!
