  1. I dinged up my prop this weekend and need to replace it.   I have an 04 centurion cyclone with about 2800lbs of ballast.  Acme and other sites recommend 525.  However, I just looked, and have been running 911.  Would there be an issue with going down to 525 or should I stay at 911; or split the difference with 1231.

    Any input would be appreciated.

I can't help you with cleaning the wheel, but I did have a similar issue last year. If you have the coin, I highly recommend this as an upgrade:

If you search through the forums here, you'll see the paddle wheel is a frequent problem.

I saw in a post about perfect pass paddlewheel you use the nauticlaugic.  I see its about half the price as to upgrade the perfectpass to stargazer.  Are you still happy with the nauticlaugic?

Pics please!!!! Exploring similar options as my vinyl on my 2002 is falling apart.

I'm able to post the pics... the file is too big. Similar to this:

My sundeck is 3 sections. So I tookthe middle upholstery off, cut about a 14 inch section out of the middle foam padding, re upholstered the side and place the sea deck in the middle.

Although not a surf board we have one of these. https://zup.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwgMnYBRDRARIsANC2dflXaW1gag-u52EhZ4DXO4hZqqMmDgi0yOvAUpzQWPd8J2mOTuE6d we start all the littles on it. It's a great way to get them comfortable behind the boat and build confidence before they move to a real board.

We actually used the HO sure shot (www.wakehouse.com/products/ho-sure-shot-platform-trainer.html?dfw_tracker=10071-2854&gclid=Cj0KCQjwgMnYBRDRARIsANC2dfmOX0Lb1O241didaeM0MI8FzQN3lxl-bNe_vF4JzJ9q5gpVCSt0E8QaA) when she was 2 1/2 for 2 summers.  In the beginning I would wake skate next to her to be there when she fell.   Then we got her a wake board when she was 4 and she does well with that.    Now she sees us surfing and of course want to do that.

Can you post a photo? Did you check the print out to see if was printed at full scale in both directions?

I just reprinted it 2 more times.  The file I downloaded came out as a PDF that was set for "fit page", which was 94.  I increased that to 100% and it looked like by height and width moved.  I will get pictures for you tonight when I get home from work.

Thanks again for double checking this...I think I'm doing it right, but have no experience with CNC

I designed some cowls for the side swipe ports to help reduce exhaust noise. These are 3D printed by Shapeways. We tried version 1 last year but they fell off because I hurriedly attached them with silicon sealant. The noise was less but we didn't get a chance to fully test with them. Version 2 below is attached internally with small angle brackets held on by the screws in the sideswipe bezel. And then the perimeter is sealed with urethane adhesive. Hopefully they'll stay put this time so we can make a proper evaluation. I am hoping these will keep the exhaust gasses submerged so we won't have switch the exhaust to just one side.

What is the size of your side swipe?  I am interested in your cowls.  I measured the chrome on my side swipe at 9 9/16 by 5 1/8.  Was that what yours was?

I designed those and have them installed on our 2008 Enzo. They do make it quieter.  Please be aware that there are some little brackets inside that you'll have to DIY.  And important to bond the edge of the cowl to the side of the boat around the side swipe plate with urethane adhesive or the water rushing past will peel it off.  Ours have been on for two seasons and I did have to reseal one where the adhesive came loose.

I did also coat the parts with Rustoleum Bedliner spray before installing them.

I would be happy to offer support if you decide to install them.   My contact info is at DIYvan.com

I was planning on contacting you about them when I get my boat out of storage and am able to measure the side swipe plate to ensure they would fit.

I live in Michigan and it just snowed last night, so it may be a bit longer before I get the boat out.

Here is where I would look. Vacuum leak can cause high idle. Idle is controlled by IAC, could be that, but also cable could be hanging. I would disconnect cable and see if idle returns to acceptable level, if it does, its the cable, if it doesn't I would probably be looking for a vacuum leak or the IAC could have pooped the bed.

My boat is the first FI boat I have owned, so I am no pro, but I play with cars so those are my guesses.

forgive me for being mechanically simple, but what are you referring to with the cable?  The throttle cable?

You can certainly protect the engine from winter without an impeller and without running the engine, but you may not be able to perform your complete fall layup procedure. To effectively change the oil, you need to run the engine to operating temp, then run another minute after new oil and filter is in. Will not be able to cycle fuel treatment into the fuel rail without running.

IMO, I Would want to be able to complete a full layup as well as confirm my overheating issue is resolved and with no further damage. Id replace the impeller now and not worry about it being in there over winter.

Is there anything you guys would use to coat the impeller during the winter?  Grease,  oil,  Vaseline?
