  1. October pics and video thread

That's too weird! Maybe one of us was sent from the future to destroy the other? LOL. I live in the Vancouver area of BC. Used to go to Baker a few times a year. Now I'm lucky if I go snowboarding more than once a year. Can barely walk for days afterward. Dumb knees took too much abuse skateboarding and snowboarding all those years. Plan to hit up the Oregon coast to do some surfing after the WakeShredder contest next season. And Maui has been on my list since I was a kid. Time to stop dreaming and start doing. Feels kinda like a mid life crisis or something. Lol. Just gotta start small. I'm betting ocean surfing is a whole lot tougher than wakesurfing.
  2. October pics and video thread

Just got back from a weekend trip to Tofino. It's the closest destination for actual ocean surfing to me. I haven't been to a "surf town" since I was maybe 10 years old. I have to say, I'm hooked. Just the whole vibe the place has. So many vehicles driving around with surfboards on the roofs made an impression on me that I can't explain. Reminds me of going to the mount baker area when I was younger and the snowboard scene was embedded into the whole area. I didn't even get a chance to surf, but had an amazing time. I'm going back as soon as possible. What "surf towns" have you been to? I'm sure they're warmer than Tofino. Not sure if I even care. Lol.
  3. 2017 Stinger Plate

I triple dog dare you to put ANY boat against the FS33's goofy wave! LOL. Drop mic
  4. Why have 1 boat when you can have 2...

It's needed for the slutty hot chick overflow. HAVE YOU SEEN HIS INSTAGRAM!!?? Wow.
  5. Centurion's Line for 2017

I "believe" they still need to hand lay the glass and roll out all the resin like normal. The vacuum process just pulls it all through the glass and eliminates air and dry spots. I've watched several videos using vacuum bagging for Carbon fibre parts, and that's how it was done.
  6. 257 is officially on order!

I remember being just blown away the first time I seen the amount of room in an SV244... this... is jaw droppingly huge! Thanks for the video share CO!
  7. FS44 Fall/winter mod

Wow congrats! That's a beautiful boat!! Fill all the bags. Fill the port side Ramfill. Override it to fill until you see water pouring out the vent. Set speed to 11.5 Trim @ 60 Cats @ 10 Add starboard Ramfill till the wave starts to wash out. Stop filling and drain a bit till it cleans up again. Now you can make speed, trim, and Cats adjustments to shape the wave how you like. You've got an amazing surf boat. Post up some pics of you enjoying that beast.
  8. 257 is officially on order!

Wow, congrats to you both! This Darkside r name thing has to come to a stop! I'm so confused. Lol
  9. Winterizing a 2016 SV with the H5 engine.

My boat is going to be under cover for the winter, but apparently it's kind of dusty, so this will add some protection from that. I guess, realistically, with this extra cover and the boat winterized, I could just keep it out front my house, but nah.

Picked up a new board. Excited to try this bad boy out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Winterizing a 2016 SV with the H5 engine.

Boy is my back sore. Winterized and somewhat detailed the boat today. Sad sad day. Wanted to add a couple points. This: Is where you should syphon the oil from. I tried going through the dipstick tube on my last boat and got the tube jammed and almost pulled off the dipstick pipe retrieving the syphon tube. No clearance issue at the V-drive drain on my boat. Also, I pulled some RV antifreeze through each of the ballast pumps by removing the bags and placing the fill/drain hoses in a bucket with the antifreeze and tapped drain for a couple seconds. Don't think this was totally necessary, but I did it anyways. Except for the bow pump. So... fingers crossed on that one. Also, I had to go the fake-a-lake route as I didn't have the flush point yet. I'm looking for a more affordable one for next year. Sad...sad, day. Lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Excellent, EXCELLENT thread! Very well done. One question on the flush kit. I imagine you must have had to cut the original hose down a bit to allow room for the kit? What did you use to cut it? I used an angle grinder on my old boats hose. Worked good.
  13. October pics and video thread

Awesome pics Nathan! Congrats again! So many good times on display there. Can't wait for WakeShredder! We've got a good sized crew coming down from here. At least that's the plan! Would love to hear about that boat that seemed to be stuck in shallow water. Hope it wasn't Emily's new boat!
  14. Centurion's Line for 2017

I'm pretty sure the M235 can make a better wave than that. I'd say the dealer just doesn't know how to dial it in yet. Looks like it had good push! Carguy, if I might make a suggestion... Move your back foot closer to or right against the kick pad. Looks like your having to put a lot of your weight on your back foot the way you're placing your feet.
  15. What's the opposite side of the boat for a bow bag sac? But yeah... for all other placed bags, that works perfectly.
  16. How Many Hours This Season?

First day on the lake with the new boat was June 10th. 70 hours as of October 10th. That's quite a bit for us. Having a few friends with top surf boats definitely helped keep the hours down on mine! I had a great season! No complaints.
  17. Have only been on an RI once, but I'm sure glad I got my 16 FS33 when I did! I'm good for a couple years.
  18. 2014 FX 22

I'm 90% sure that's an SV211 or 210 or whatever that you've got there as a comparison. Not 100% sure. Don't know why were arguing about this... it's fall and neither of us is getting in much surfing, so that's part of it I'm sure. Everyone knows I choose the FS over SV every time... if... IF I was regular footed, I'd probably say the opposite to be honest. but ANYWAYS... here's my pics of an FX22 and SV233 for comparison. LOL.
  19. 2014 FX 22

H, I just can't agree with that. I've measured the back corner edge to the rubrail on both the SV's and the 22 and they are almost identical. The FX and FS line have a steeper V than the SV's do... that's about it. As far as resale goes, I'd have to disagree as well. Selling boats up here has become more of a challenge due to the dollar exchange. The reason mine took so long to sell was because of an unfinished warranty claim that stopped it from selling more than once and cost me a bunch of money. Still butt hurt over that one! @DJO, you are correct. The SV233 and the FX22 have the same cabin room, to the millimeter. The SV has a longer bow. Here's my personal preference for the FX22. It has a better Goofy wave. That's it. I know that others on here with SV's have had great success in dialling theres in... but I've never (personally) seen/felt it. I know that Irocnparts on here had a KILLER wave on his sv240 with a switchblade on both sides. Then he upgraded to the 244, added the switchblade. And STILL didn't get a good enough wave... 1 year later he now owns an ri237. that's all I have to say. You're gonna have to check them out yourself.
  20. October pics and video thread

Bahahaaaha! I've fallen MANY different ways. But I don't think I've done that one!
  21. 2014 FX 22

Did you mean length?? Cause the SV is not a foot taller than the FX22. A 230/233 is 23' and the FX22 is 22'3"... 9" isn't much when we're talking boats... Unless you often have people using the bow, you wouldn't notice a difference in length. In fact, the cabin is a lot more roomy in the FX22 than the 230. Much smaller bow though.

That pic in the fog is sick!
  23. 2014 FX 22

After owning an FX22 and spending some time in a S226 and 238. I think I have some valuable input for you. I too had to have CATS. Firstly, the freeboard on the FX22 is almost identical to the SV lineup. You don't have to list it as hard to get a really good goofy wave IMO. You'll have more cabin space than your 230, but less storage if you use your under seat storage. There's literally 2" of space between the bottom of the seats and the top of the Ramfill tanks. The difference in cabin room between the S226 and FX22 is negligible. I too thought the FX looked bigger inside, but I don't think you'll fit one more person in either boat. The S226 doesn't need CATS to make a great wave on either side. However, I would argue that it does benefit from the quicksurf tabs for cleaning up the waves. The one thing that makes the FX a better boat for surfing is the fact you can switch sides so much easier. The touchscreen is pretty sick too IMO. Both boats need lead or extra weight for really great waves.
