  1. I've talked to Jesse and Roger at Centurion directly numerous time and they both confirm the 14 PNP/locker bags will not work on the touchscreen. Even though they are on my screen.

I've also had the same confirmed from Melanie at century marine and last but not least Mitch at M&M water sports in Utah.

So I'm curious to see how this will go...

  2. I would stop doing what you're doing by starting it on the trailer but I would be surprised if that was the issue. I remember now that you bought that boat from Tracker where it had been sitting on the lot for a while.

Who knows what they might have done while it was on the lot. I see zero reason to try to get the water out by starting it out of the water though.

10-4... I'll stop that bad habit. lol

  3. Hmmm, wonder what they did. I like their bags because they have several ports.

My guess is the ports in the bottom of the bag would be a bit higher up the side of the bag instead of being right at the bottom of the bag. That definitely would not allow them to drain all the way if you ever wanted to put in an integrated pump system. If all you're planning on using is an over the side pump, it would likely not be a big deal.

Yeah i plan to just get the tsunami and toss it in manually. So should I buy another 750 and put it on the port side side? No matter what I plan to buy one for the port locker. We don't surf goofy and if we do it's b/c of a friend coming with... so no need for double locker bags IMHO.

  4. Here's another option. Attached are photos I took of the locker compartment on my '16 SV233. post-7344-0-66497000-1491965415_thumb.jpgpost-7344-0-38250400-1491965437_thumb.jpgpost-7344-0-72446400-1491965457_thumb.jpgpost-7344-0-10431700-1491965474_thumb.jpg

The first photo is the front of the compartment by the rear seat. 2nd is the back of the locker. 3rd is the length measured to the blower hose. Last photo shows how short it gets past the hose looking to the back of the boat.

I will be buying a Wakemakers LBS bag that will measure 15" tall by 25" wide by 50" long. It will not fill all the way but it will definitely fill the entire locker. I have a slightly smaller bag in the other locker.

I guarantee your locker will be bigger than mine. Get the biggest bag you can. I used a Tsunami over the side pump last year that worked fine but will be integrating it into the factory touchscreen this weekend. I'll do a write up on how to do it in the next week or two if you're interested.

I'd love to plumb it in and connect to the touchscreen but the 2014 firmware doesn't allow that... 2015+ you can.

My lockers seem similar. My partner measured them today. I think we're gonna go with those 740s on wakemakers outlet section. I have to call them b/c under description it says:

    Description

NO FITTINGS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS BALLAST BAG

Due to a welding error the fill and drain ports were miss aligned from the original design affecting efficiency of draining.

    Size: 50" x 25" x 15" / Weight: 740 lbs.

  5.

What do you mean "bumping it to get all the water out" ? If you're starting it on the trailer with no water, that could very well be your problem. As soon as these things run dry the neoprene has no lubrication and builds heat and will chew them up in a hurry. It doesn't take much.

By "bump" I mean I start/turn the motor over until it fires- once it fires up I shut it off. So .5 a second maybe. Gets water out... is this unnecessary? lol

I know it def didn't cause my impeller to be flat like it is... I personally think the dealer I bought it from never changed the impeller and it sat for two years like that. Tracker boats bass pro shop in Houston.

  6. So I can't decide on a bag for my rear locker... I've had boat shop tell me to put 300lb bags and then I've had another say a 750. So what do you guys use? I called wakemakers and they have the 740 on sale for 129. Here: https://www.wakemakers.com/wakemakers-rear-lbs-ballast-bag-740-blem.html

But then I also see they have an "Enzo specific bag". But when I told the people over the phone I had an fx44 they said there is no bag that will fit perfect/made for my exact boat. So what is this Enzo bag for??? Here: https://www.wakemakers.com/wakemakers-centurion-enzo-ballast-bag.html

Thanks for the help/suggestions! ...and YES I've searched and searched for surf settings and ballast bag topics- I have zero luck with the search on here.

  7. Short answer not normal. I think Stoked has the right questions. If all of them are no then I would pull the new one at 30 hours and see if it is looking the same. You can get a $30 fiber optic camera from amazon that connects to your cell phone and do your own inspection. What boat do you have and how old is it? you might need a good flush on your hoses.

    It's a 14 fx44. 60 hrs... the impeller had around 50 I think

  8.

Lol of course we did! Put new one in and have another new one we keep in the boat as a spare.

As to why it looks like that with only 45 hours, did you run it dry at all? Fire it up while on the trailer with no water hook up? Maybe forgot to open the water valve? That's not normal for 45 hours. I had something similar at 50 hours and that was because I left a piece out of my flush hit and I had trouble pulling antifreeze through the system which caused it to run semi-dry for extended periods.

Never ran dry- except for bumping it when we get it on the trailer for 1/2 a second to get all the water out.

I'm going to pull this new one out at around 10 hours and see what it looks like.

  9. Wow what great responses! I'll try and answer some and give an update... I spoke to Mark @ WS. Here's what he suggested after I said I want to re-power the revs and add two way-650's and add a sub/amp.

"2 pairs) REV 8 SYN-DX 2.3 HP : you will run them parallel and get 300 watts to each unit. Use 12ga wire for these speakers.

(4 pairs) XS-650-S sinister SD4 : you can run a pair on each channel from 1 to 4 and get 170 watts to each unit. You can use 12ga or 14ga wiring for this.

(XS-XXX)- SYN-DX 2.3 HP : you will bridge both channels to each sub and get 1200 Watts. Use 8ga wire for the XXX"

The battery switch is the newer style electric relay/isolator. It's on/off and then has an ! Mark position for using both batt in case of emergency start. So my understanding is in the "on" mode the device electronically switches back and forth between both batteries and senses when one is dead.

I've calculated the total wattage at around 3700 with this new setup... so the WS guy said I should be ok with 2 batts but he was honest and isn't 200% knowledgeable with the calculations of that kind of thing. I also called XS power today and they have the XS3000 battery that will provide 3000watts for 240 minutes. So I'm going to check that wattage rating on my interstate batteries and go from there. I'm also unsure if I need to get a larger alternator...? The boat has a built in charger so I may just bring my little Honda lunchbox generator and plug a cord into the boat if we are beached for hours/overnight. Or is that unrealistic?
