Was there a notable difference compared to the 15 x14.25 prop?

Adding silent stinger wake plate
Donterry replied to Tross49's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
Tross49, let me know if you find anything more out on this. I'm also interested on this mod but I'm concerned that the exhaust port on the transom is lower on the 2016's and it might be an issue. -
What engine do you have? We have a 2016Ri237 with the H6 engine and the 15x14.25 prop seemed to be the best compromise at altitude. I'm curious to see what you think.

Centurion's Line for 2017

I was just going to say there has to be someone there from the forum that could get us some better pics. Congrats to the better half on the 2nd place! Do you think you could see what prop is on it? Also is that a rear camera I see? -
Centurion's Line for 2017

Good catch CO Surfer. It almost seems like they are about 2ft further back, like the Ramfill tanks are the same size as the Ri237's. -
Centurion's Line for 2017
Donterry replied to enzo101mo's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I agree with you to a point but I think it has more to do with the inefficiency because of the steep shaft angle and the too small prop diameter. In our RI237 we typically surf with three people in the boat and one surfing. We don't fill the bow PNP which I believe weighs around 750 lbs and we run the non-surf side ram at 90% and everything else is full. And our surf RPM's are around 4200. When we ride in our friends G23, that has the same engine but better shaft angle and the prop diameter is correct for the transmission ratio, we fill all the tanks completely and have 9 people in the boat when 1 is surfing. The G23 surfs at about 3300-3400 RPM's. When you look at the backed off ballast weight on the RI compared to the full ballast and more passengers in the G23 the total weight is about the same if not heavier on the G23 but the RPM's are much lower. -

What about being over 4000 RPM's while surfing? -

I think that they are one of the only brands that isn't at Surf Expo this year... -
It also seems like, from the picture above, they have backed themselves into a corner with the prop to trailer clearance now. It doesn't look like they have enough room to go from the 14.5" prop that is on the boat to the 16" that is needed and not hit the trailer prop guard. The prop guard can't go any lower to the ground so the boat would have to be raised slightly on the trailer but the Ri237 is already 11'6" on the trailer with the tower up and over 8'6" with the tower down.
-
Agreed. They only needed about 1" to 1 1/4" more to properly fit a 16" prop. But supposedly since they were already at a 16 degree strut their options were limited off the shelf and had to go with a 18 degree strut which was a big jump at the prop. You would think for what we are paying for these boats they could have gone with a custom angle strut.
-
The prop shaft angle on the 2016 Ri237 was already 16 degrees, I wonder what this new angle is. Supposedly going to a higher angle then that can cause a bunch of issues (lowers efficiently of the prop because of the angle, vibrations from loading and unloading of the prop, boat porpoising, etc...) What's interesting is that somehow Nautique has fit a 17" prop on the G23 with only about a 13 degree shaft angle.

What engine and altitude?

I hope all of those devices don't pull their power through that fuse and you are just loosing the device that controls them otherwise this is horribly unsafe for a few reasons. The ballast pumps alone would pull 48 amps (12 amps each x 4 pumps), so running all 4 pumps and anything else on that circuit could overload it. Also if only one pump shorted it would have to draw more than 50 amps to blow its breaker. I'm crossing my fingers that the breaker is just for a control module that switches power for those devices but I also haven't found the breakers/fuses for the pumps yet.

I was hoping we would have heard something by now...

They look to to be just placeholders with the Ri237 info until they are allowed to put the real info and pictures in. -

2017 Centurion Boats Models Released
Donterry replied to CrewAdmin's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I hope they have found a way to fit a larger diameter prop to go with that 1.72:1 reduction ratio and bring the surf RPM's down. Unfortunately I've heard that the early 2017's are still being delivered with 14.5" diameter props. Which is a joke for a 12,000+ lb boat when loaded. Hopefully they are just waiting on ACME to design some 16" props to work with these boats. -
The Centurion website currently only has the Ri217, Ri237 and the Carbon Pro listed as available boats.
-
Why do you think the Ri237 has to run so fast?
-
Those were all Ri217's? Wow they are hard to tell the difference between. It's interesting that the surf speed is so much slower than what you recommend on the Ri237 and that it is totally even weighted with no cats adjustment.

I had a 2013 v226 that the acc switch controlled the cigarette lighter power in the starboard rear locker.
-
I would love to find out how they had those boats setup. Ballast, lead, speed, tabs, etc...
