  2. I could use a couple check valves. Searched and found these but haven't ordered any. https://www.shopthepoolandspacenter.com/hot-spring-spas-3-4-water-check-valve-35233/
  3. We are based in Hood River and were riding near town.
  4. Nice day on the Columbia yesterday. Glassy river and a smokey sky. Here is Alex riding the Byerly Hazard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdKVcldg0AQ
  5. New here

That's a nice looking boat. Congratulations!
  6. Greetings, We use our boat on the mighty Columbia (on border between OR & WA) where the current is strong. I am considering purchasing a 50-60 lbs thrust clamp on trolling motor with the idea that it could get us to the bank or at least out of the barge lane in the case that we have a failure in the primary drive. Our boat has two separable batteries but would even consider carrying a third. Thoughts? Recommendations on a trolling motor? http://www.amazon.com/Newport-Vessels-Thrust-Electric-Trolling/dp/B00EYST1L8 All the best and happy riding, Hein, Kim & Crew
  7. It's always windy so that's sort of the challenge. We wakeskated on the John Day when we had our PWC but haven't been there with the boat. Seems sort of shallow and narrow which isn't the most comfortable situation for my trusty driver. Any other considerations pro & con for stashing a trolling motor somewhere onboard?
  8. Great plan! I have buddy who offered me an anchor. I guess I'll have to take him up on that. We are in Hood River. We are newbie boaters but not with being on the river. We owned a PWC and also kite surf.

  10. Soulcraft fin setups

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize Futures were available with different box depths. Update: Apparently the shallow boxes are for outside thruster fins and the deeper one is for center fins. (Typical 3 fin thruster arrangement.) Soulcraft must like a symmetrical foil for their twinser setup because that's the main (common) difference between a thruster and center fin.
  11. Soulcraft fin setups

Based on our limited experience, twin fins seem to glide better. All the quads we've tied feel like they have a lot of drag. Get some foil tape to cover the slots you don't use. I'd likely get some smaller composite fins for that board. Are the stock fins plastic? These or something slightly smaller could be good: http://www.amazon.com/Futures-Fins-Tech-Rears-Surfboard/dp/B00E3FYI4C Edit: smaller ones: http://www.amazon.com/Futures-Fins-Hexcore-Rears-Surfboard/dp/B00F8F8MUW
  12. Photo of the boards we have been riding. I shaped/built these for kitesurfing years ago and they are working well behind the boat. They are/were quads but we've found that twins are more efficient so I covered the rear slots with foil tape and running FCS G-XQ small quad rears in the front slots. The white board had a thumb tail like the green one until I got out the jig saw.
  13. Hi everyone! New forum member and wakesurf addicts here! Enjoy some videos from our wakesurf playlist. (Turn down the sound unless you like to hear engines running and folks holloring with fun.) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6hY8o9nJCeLaoq86QP-8fW7I5t-91x5I All the best, Hein, Kim and crew.
