  1. carpet replacement

https://greatlakesskipper.com/oem-parts-and-accessories/ski-centurion-boats If your not sold on the carpet, I just installed Seadek on my 03 and love it.
  2. I was just looking into doing some repairs on my gel coat. My son held the boat against a dock all pissed he couldn't go in to get ice cream too. He was not paying attention and the dock put some huge gouges in the side. Going to follow the above link. When I get around to it I'll post before and after
  3. I did mine on an 03 avalanche. I wish I was a contortionist! But that goes for most repairs. I can't give any advice that has not already been said. Good luck!
  4. Thanks for the advice. I want to take care of this boat the best I can. When I installed the stereo system, I had a larger alternator put in. At that time I put in a new serpentine belt. Should I do the filters with the fluids every season? When you say impeller are you talking about the one in the bilge pump?As far as the rest of the recommendation, I will get them all done over the next year.
  5. I have had my Avy for three seasons now. It has 224 hours on it. (I know I need to get out more) every season I have drained and refilled v-drive, engine oil and trans. Is there any other tjings i should be doing? How about the trailer? Also i have heard putting some dish soap in the bilge then going on a few runs will clean it up. Is that accurate? Thanks
  6. I used a rubber wheel that body shops use to remove stickers and what not. It worked great.
  7. This winter a bad or ballast upgrade is in the works. Mainly for my wife, she loves surfing. So I'm sure I can find a weight that will work for my son. Thanks for the quick replies. I'll try the trim tab trick next time out with everyone one the starboard side.
  8. My son has just started taking interest in wake boarding. He is a goofy rider. I am regular. The wake for me jumping heel side is awesome. But his heel side wake is washed out. I would think this would be the opposite since I have the walk through transom. Any ideas on why this is? My boat only has the stock center ballast.
  9. I just read another thread that mentioned there is a silver nob to the right of the driver seat. It supposedly adjusts the speedo. I'm going out at the end of august and I will verify if this fixes my problem with both my digital and analog speedo. My new prop made my tach work better. I just kinda pull people based on how the wake looks and what speed the rider feels comfortable at.
  10. As the title says my gauges are acting up and or not working. My last two trips the tach has been acting real funny. I will be sitting at idle and it will read 500rpm then later it will read 1500rpm and every thing between. There is no difference in engine sound. Also while in reverse I have watched it go from 3500 down to 900 when that happened I did not change the speed I was just putting. It seems very inconsistent every time I'm underway it shows me a different reading. This last time out it became even more difficult to figure out what it is doing because the speedo stopped working all together, both analog and digital. Since the last trip I installed a high performance stereo. I had to put a new 140amp alternator and 2 more batteries to handle the extra load. I also put in a blue sea battery automatic disconnect. I did not have any other electrical problems so I dont think that my new stuff has anything to do with the speedo problem but I'm trying to be through in my explanation so I don't look over any possibilities. To this point all i have done is check the little spinning thing on the bottom of the boat and it seems fine. I guess my boat type may help. It is a 03 avy escalade. thanks in advance for any tips.
  11. 06 tribal graphic removal

I took the all the vinyl off my 2003 avy with no issues. Looks so much better.
  12. Wow 15-20ft back! Looks like I got lucky and bought a great boat. I had no idea it performs so well. The towel length think must be an inside joke or I'm that much of a noob. As far as ballast goes I would love some help planning it out. Here is how we use our boat. I ride regular my wife rides goofy. She does more surfing and I like to do more wakeboarding. I also have two tebage sons that ride. We are all novice only having four weekends under our belts. I'm wanting to get about 5 years out of this boat. So I'm willing to put some upgrades into it. Already put a killer fosgate/fusion stereo and 140amp alternator upgrade on it and a custom seadek faux teak flooring upgrade is in the works. I would prefer keep the bags hidden except where the walk through transom is at. I plan to do all upgrades my self. Here is what I have thought of to this point. I was going to have wakemakers build a custom sack for the back lockers and use a jabsco ballast puppy for each bag. That's as far as I got. So I guess it's time to get schooled on what else I need to do. Again thanks for all the help in advance.
  13. Thanks for the replies. sounds like I should get the 911.

  15. New to the forum and boating. I bought a 03 avalanche last August. It has a center ballast and trim tab. The engine is a 350 mercruiser. Being new to boating I had a panic moment my last trip out in October and dinged up my prop. I'm looking to get a new one and get the old one resurfaced to be a backup. The old one is a 4 blade. I have no idea what to get. I mainly surf and wake board. The only lake I go to is havasu. It would be nice to be able to go a bit faster when trying to go rom one side of the lake to the other, but I realize I can't have it both ways. I have plans to add more ballast so we can let go of the rope while surfing. I'm not sure if any more info is needed to get correct advice. Please advise.
