  1. Killing it Dark! I can't wait to go back out there with your camera setup again.....I think I am going to extend the length more this time and see how it turns out.
  2. FS33 in 2017?

Do you guys think they will put the NSS systems now that they are apart of CC? I don't see why they would on the Ri sense it seems to work so well but maybe on the other models.
  3. Top 5 Wakesurf Boats?

This article is a joke....mastercraft? hahaha I have surfed a couple of them and their waves suck imo. I have surfed the majority of the latest surf boats and the G23 and Centurion (pretty much all models lol) are the best out there.
  4. So without being long winded....He said to pump the board to get your momentum going forward (one or two pumps) and then just lean forward to gain your speed. A lot of people like myself trying to learn airs do a slight bottom turn and he said to just stay straight down the line and turn into the wave. When your leaning forward stay in a athletic stance and bend your knees. When you come up the face of the wave you want to pop the back of your board and bring that front knee as high as you can get it and then let your back knee follow while slightly turning your hips away from the wave which will pop the back of the board up and out of the wave to get your air. I'm sure some of these guys have their pointers as well....I broke it down pretty simple though....Stay in a athletic position (knees bent and feet wide), go straight down the wave and get the front knee up high followed by the back knee with a slight hip turn. good luck!
  5. Thanks Dark! My buddy got a lesson from Hunter Clement the other day. After the lesson he told me the pointers he gave him. I took that advice and thats all I needed to start getting air. Pretty cool how a few simple techniques can help improve your skills. Now I just need to practice getting higher like you! lol

  7. New or used....Comparable credit is his issue. When I applied for my boat loan I was just like you....I literally have never been late on a payment a day in my life and have had multiple car loans. When we applied for my boat loan I had only been in my house for 10 months. Even though I put a good down payment on the house and my credit was perfect they still threw up the comparable credit issue with me as well. It really pissed me off. Here I am at 31 years old and have never in my life been late on any loan or credit card I have or had out there. I would never put myself in that position. I have worked my tush off since I was 16, put myself through college, and handled my own finances the entire time. I felt like slapping someone when they told me this. They said if I wait a few more months they could use my house as comparable credit but it was a used boat that I was getting a great deal on that I didn't want to lose out on. On top of all this I am a independent contractor and even though I make plenty of money to pay for my boat, with all my write-offs my tax returns don't show as much. It's the biggest down side of being strictly on a 1099 return. So heres my advice....I went through eboatloans.com. After they starting explaining the comparable credit and my 1099 issues I literally had to go the extra mile and work with them on how I can argue my case for the loan. I am a finance trainer in the car business and it works the same way when buying a car. If the bank says your only approved for 25k but you want the car thats 30k the finance manager has to look at all angles and plead his case to the buyer at the bank. basically sell them on you! This was the same situation I went through and after talking to the guys at eboatloans they totally understood where I was coming from. It also helped they had a CPA background and could explain my income better to the bankers. I also worked at a bank for a few years. I will tell you this....every bank has different underwriting guidelines and the banker himself only reads black and white. It takes a good broker to sell him on your situation to get you the financing you need. I hope this helps.....I know its frustrating and I totally get why you don't buy in cali. I grew up in Orange County and the housing market is ridiculous! If you think its bad there try Hawaii for a few years lol. Good look man! I hope it all works out!!!
  8. ri237 or fs44

Yeah, I do agree with you Dark on the "friends in the industry". You reminded me of how much hype that S238 really did get and when I surfed it with a lot of weight it did nothing for me. I think it all goes back to what everybody told me when I was searching for a boat. DEMO yourself and form your own opinion. We have all different needs when it comes to a boat. For me I needed the storage space since I always have a lot of family and friends on the boat with me. I also wanted a great deal that needed to fall within my budget. I look at resale value as a big deal! I wanted a great surf wave. The list goes on and yeah I ended up with a '14 G23. Am I saying that its the best surf wave out there. No, but to me its pretty bad a$$. All around I love the boat. Thats not say I didn't like the fs33, fs44, or ri237. Those boats are sweet but I couldn't find a good deal on a used one and the storage compartments left me hanging. The important thing was I was happy with my decision and it fit all MY needs. So back to the OP.....Its personal preference! Any boat that you get in and dial the right way can make a great wave. It just comes down to if you will love it.
  9. ri237 or fs44

Watching some of those videos nate has me itching even more to get back out on the water! I wished I lived somewhere I could surf year round! I have surfed all the supremes, fs22, and fs33. I could only imagine how much better the wave would be on the fs44. I did get a chance to crawl through the ri237 at the boat show last month and I will agree with nate that the fit and finish I feel is better than the fs models. The only downside to me was even with the deeper free board is the storage under the seats was not that great. That would be my only downside to that boat. As far as the wave, I have not surfed it yet. However, from what my friends in the industry have said it really is one of the best if not the best waves on the market. I have heard stories of people getting on top of the lip and dropping into the wave and they feel like they are going head over heals because of how steep it is. I think if it was me I rather use a boat that has a incredible surf wave with a surf system. I always have a lot of friends or family in the boat and not all of them fill comfortable driving a boat much less one listed. I think centurion hit a home run with this boat!

Going around that buoy was pretty sick!
  11. Go Pro Mounts and Advice

Just advice......If you have never filmed with a go pro or made your own movies I can give you some advice on technique. I make lot of videos and I am by no means a expert but I have found a few tricks that helps when it comes to editing. Don't get caught up in recording something for long periods of time. You will find that you only use multiple short clips to create your video. Having a 15 minute clip is annoying to scroll through to find that specific shot your looking for. A lot of us talk about how quick the batteries can die and thats true. However if you can have someone recording in the boat when the rider falls just hit stop on the go pro and when he's back up and riding click record. If your cruising to a new spot just turn it off completely. It saves memory and a lot of battery life. Then when you want those cool shots that tell your story one of my favorite mounts is the gopole. I use a gopole for about 95% of my recordings. Whether I am in the boat or filming a vacation trip. Its steady and you can easily change up your angles. Only down side in the boat is getting someone to do it when your driving or surfing yourself. Thats what makes the suction cup mounts great. I am not sure if your go pro is adaptable with the remote but if it is when your surfing its great because you can stop and record without having to yell at someone to do it. I also film mainly in 1080p 60fps Medium view. If it is late in the evening lower your fps to 30. It allows the lense to stay open longer which allows more light for those late evening rides. Gopros do not do well in low light but playing with the settings helps a lot. If you want the ultimate slow motion shots shoot in 1080p 120fps. I edit with iMovie on my Apple. Its simple and a great starting point. You can pretty much youtube any tutorial on how to use it and edit your videos. As far as creating a movie....Never forget to record the drive to the lake or the boat ride to your spot. Again don't record for 10 minutes! You will only use about 10 seconds of that clip lol. Just record the shot you want. Make sure to get a 64GB memory card that is a Class 3! Shoot me a PM if you would like to see a couple of videos I have made. I'll be happy to help. Its a lot of fun!
  12. My RI237 has arrived!

    Awesome boat Nate! Congrats!!!
  13. 2015 FS 22 height

I measured the fs33 a few months ago in a measuring tape and with the tower folded it looked like it was just under 8ft. tall. This included the bimini arm that sticks up. I have a 8ft. tall garage door. Just to give you some reference....We ended up a G23 and we all know how deep that boat is. I lowered the tower and backed it up to the garage door and I was about 2 inches too tall for my garage door opening and that was with 18inch wheels. I am pretty positive the fs33 will fit under a 8ft. door. Also, keep in mind when I measured the fs33 it didn't have the nice 18 inch wheels just the standard trailer. I think if anything at all you would just need to remove the bimini which doesn't seem too difficult to gain a few inches.
