  1. Hello all, I'm changing my prop from an 3-blade OJ 13x11.5 VC to a 4-blade Acme 231 which is 13x12.5 I'm hoping for a bit more top end performance since I seem to get quite a bit of low end performance from the current prop and really don't need "stump pulling" power there. The boat is a 1999 Elite V bowrider with the 350MPI Merc. For those who respond, thanks in advance! -L67
  2. Hello all, I'm looking to buy two new 2-person towable rafts for the kids this year so they can each be on and be towed at the same time. This will also be good when they bring friends along. The one that I like best is the Seadoo Evo2 which has a 3-stage rocker, but I'm not sure how that will do when I have two of them going at the same time. We did buy a SportStuff Speedzone 3-person raft last year, but it spring a leak twice now for no apparent abuse or other reason. So we're done with the big rafts now! What do you recommend for <$200 each? Which ones are the best when towing two at a time? Thanks! -adam
  3. Bow fat sac is passively draining

I'm thinking of putting the valve in for temporary use until I figure out what I want to do long term. I think I should be able to fix this by putting a vented loop higher than the sac on the drain line after the pump and before the thru-hull fitting.
  4. Hey folks, I added a fat sack to the bow of my '99 Elite Bowrider and I'm having a problem with it passively draining. I think the reason it is doing this is because my Piranah drain pump is lower than fat sac and I have no vent on the drain line after the pump and before the through-hull fitting. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I need to have some point of the drain line higher than the sack. Thanks! -adam
  5. I have the exact same issue and can not find the leak either. Seems to fill up faster when we're driving as well. But even sitting overnight, it fills up with several inches of water.
  6. I have a 1999 Elite-V bowrider with Mercruiser 350Mag MPI engine and the alternator is about to give out on me. I have quite a few added electronic gadgets (2000W stereo, trim tabs, bags/pumps). Are there direct replacement marine alternators that put out a bit more current that I should be looking at? Thanks!
  7. Adding ballast to 1999 Elite V

Ok to spend around $1,000 on the setup.
  8. Hello All, Our 1999 Elite V does not have ballast in it and I'm looking to add some height and shape to the wake. What are your recommendations for retrofitting in ballast (like fat sacs), pump, and cockpit controls (fill, empty switches)? I like to have everything tucked away and remotely controlled from the drivers seat. I'm thinking a pair of sacks in the engine compartment (V-drive config) and possibly one up front under the seats to control the nose a bit. I have hydraulic trim tabs now, but they seem to really mess up the wake more than help it. I don't think I need any sort of level/monitoring gauges as I can figure out about how much water is in the sacks by how the boat is sitting (and peeking in under the sun deck from time to time. Thanks! -L
  9. Hello all, I have a 3-blade now, but want to try out a 4-blade. For some reason, I can't find any stock of 4-blade, 1 1/8" shaft, left-hand rotation props. What pitch do you all recommend as well?
  10. Class C camper tow vehicle

Most of the class C campers we're looking at have a Ford Tirton V10 with 300hp and 420 lb-ft torque. I have no idea if this is enough as I drive/tow with a highly modified F150 supercrew 4x4 blown/intercooled with 550hp and 600 lb-ft torque at the wheels. Behind this truck you can feel the boat is there, but not much of a problem (at all) on steep grades and ramps. A camper on the other hand, has the weight of the camper and the boat working against it. I guess I could modify the V10 and pump up the hp/torque as well. Anybody have real first hand experience with the Ford V10 in a class C config? Anybody modify this engine to produce a little more? Thanks
  11. We're ready to step up from the tenting experience to a camper. I'm looking for a not too big class C (<25ft) with a decent size diesel engine for towing the boat. Although we're a family of 4, we never have only 4 with us along. So, something that sleeps 8 would be great. What do you all recommend? Manufacturer, model, year? Thanks!
  12. Ya but the 12" sub is where the keg would go, bulkhead locker is filled with boards and towels, and the rear lockers are filled with other absolutely essential crap.
  13. Great weekend on Camanche Lake in No. Calif except for the wind! My stock clock in the left side 2 1/8" dash hole broke and fell out and I'm looking for something to replace it with. The clock really didn't work anyway, so not looking to replace with an OEM. What I was thinking would be great if I could find it is a combo air temp and digital clock, but I'm open to other suggestions. Right now, I have a Lawrence combo water temp/depth gauge on the right hand side. Thanks
  14. I have a 1999 Elite V-drive Bowrider with the pitotube speedometer and I'm looking for a GPS based speedo to replace it. What manufacturer and model do you all recommend? The dash has two speedometers, so am looking for one GPS and the other to simply be a slave to the first.
