Jest Ski and PWC policy
builtforspeed replied to zapisor's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
The annoying Ones are the ones that think they are exempt from the no wake signs. usually 2 drunk people, the guy usually looks like andrew dice clay and the lady, a reject from an olivia newton john video. -
Most are either a 13/4 or an 1 1/2 you maybe able to find out from centurion with vin number or call discount inboard marine give them info on your boat and they will tell you . i think that if is not 1 3/4 that they have a reducer sleeve that is glued in

Grease Type
builtforspeed replied to dmigas's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Hey dmigas, you can use a marine grade grease, they sell it at any auto parts store. comes in small tubes for small grease guns or big tubes for larger grease guns. it is the same grease used for wheel bearings or any thing that needs grease and has a zerk fitting only marine grade (water proof) -
Seal

dmigas, I wanted to say i would take some duct tape and take a small piece and touch it with fingers to make fingers sticky when you are handling screws. good luck -
Seal
builtforspeed replied to gravity12's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
yes ,that is what the holes are for. As soon as you see the grease coming out stop. some times i got lazy and only pulled one screw, but in the long run it began to fail hence replacing with pss which i might add i have had no water in my bilge except from cooler or wet people. i did find it easier to remove screws with small screwdriver ( small handle ). -
Seal
builtforspeed replied to gravity12's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
This is what you have on your shaft? you can see there are 2 small relief screws that need to be removed when you grease packing ,it is a pita to remove them and not drop in bilge. They are machined so they are easy to thread back on. I kept a magnet close by incase i did drop them. I, like a lot of guys ,have switched to a pss seal. the water line is to keep shaft lubricated, but the main thing to remember is not to over grease as you will damage seal. I bought a grease gun and put 2 extension hoses on it to make it a little easier to reach shaft. There is a picture on one of my postings . any other questions i will tell you what i know or someone else will. -

Thanks rock, Here is a pic of what did. I put a piece of agenda behind strap hooks. as well i put a strip where my gas cap hangs and hits the side of boat. did that after friend let that thing smack the side, it is 11/4 strip so not to big and looks ok. -

Rock, i do not mean to butt in but is that clear tape like a 3m scratch guard tape? i am interested in that. on another note , My wife does not drive as well. she has a phobia about driving but for some reason she feels ok with the boat because she can see everything around her, i definitely eased her into it but when it comes time to pull boat out , no go , have to dock and retrieve truck myself and physically pull boat onto trailer. small price to pay for getting her to drive boat. has she tried driving boat? -
stretch, Here is what i know about loans, yes, credit is one factor but what they look for as well is other large purchases close to what you want to borrow, that is why a lot ,not everyone has there loan thru equity in there houses. i as well just kept my older boat till i had at least 50% down on purchase for newer boat, also you have to be very diligent in what paper work you have like tax forms, proof of income etc, no more stated income loans( at least not yet ) then there is the old standby , co-signer. woo hoo

new board from nick, really happy right now! woo hoo -
only thing i can add is i have a 7.3 ford f250 4x4 diesel 2003, and a 2003 chevy silverado hd and i have driven everywhere in the ford ,dirt ,sand, desert, mountains etc. the chevy, I can not even drive it, it has so many issues including a instrument cluster that does not work. ford guys usually sit back and watch the arguments, unless they bought a 6.0 litre.
