Diy upholstery
builtforspeed replied to Tommywalton1974's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
. I have done some upholstery in the past but have had someone else do the sewing. What I know is that a steamer helps a bunch to help stretch and take the wrinkles out of the materials. If your doing drivers seat you may need a good pair of hog ring pliers and obviously a good staple gun. I recarpeted some bumpers on trailer and swapped out wood with starbard from tap plastics. Don't know about machine but my uncle has a trim shop, I could ask. But in the long run like anything take your time ,it can get frustrating trying to make it perfect. -

When unloading don't forget your transom straps and plug.when loading take your time and just hope there is no jet skiers ignoring the 5 mph up to the dock as there meat head friends try to do tricks 10 ft away. Lol just kidding , I think. -
Wanted - Mirror Mount for Evolution Tower
builtforspeed replied to roadbkrkv1's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I did exactly that. I searched and searched for adapter but no luck. I bought the 2 3/8 and took the a metal grinding wheel to it until it matched the shape. Then I coated the inside with liquid rubber to protect finish on tower arm. I think it turned out ok, but would have liked to have found adapter . -

April picture and video thread...
builtforspeed replied to Dreamer's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
I did , i was able to go out this weekend and ride , pretty happy with the soul craft . definitely diff then my other boards , but it was fast as pooh. At first i thought my boat was broke. I was so excited i did not notice the cruise control was on and could not figure why i was loosing power , lol . i almost lost it until i noticed . fun times! 360's and carves seemed easier but the thinner nose bogged me down a couple times. -

Oil and Fuel Filter 2005 Centurion Lightning
builtforspeed replied to Nikj's topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Do you have a west marine in your area? they can cross reference your year and engine serial number . if they do not have mercury they will have sierra which i have ran with no issues. good luck with oil filter removal , It seemed like a gorilla tightened my last one when serviced and it was a mean woman to get off. I don't have the numbers but could check later. -
Boat negotiation help.

Go low , you can always go up. James Harold has a cyclone and one of the better wakes although he runs a surf blade but I believe he runs less weight with it than the swichblade. But yes ,like mmarsh says, the avalanche is a bit bigger and has a decent wave with about 1500 - 1600 pounds. -

Do they still put the same one in the new boats? Or have they upgraded. -
There is a mystique about getting a custom board. you can by a mass produced board all day long and ride what other people are riding. the positive is you may get a board that is magic under your feet , the rocker may turn out good ,the rails may be just right etc. with a production board popped out of a shaping machine its going to ride the same as one sold to some one else . As well ,any board custom shaped can be glassed for more durability . But yes ,a lot of people ride inland surfer. They must be doing something right.

My advice is to call or email one or all of the popular shapers out there like, soulcraft, chaos, doomswell. Tell them what boat you have , how big you are ,your skill level and just talk with them in general. I bet in the long run you are going to get a better price than a stock board, and a board that is custom to your needs and some graphics that will expess your personal freedom, lol. Or they can build one that could cover a wide span of riders. Good luck.

Almost looks like if you were fast enough you could do a wrap around cutback. Which is what I am waiting to see or do lol.

I know you can re-anodize metal ,but may be more trouble than trying to replace as you have to strip to raw material . -

HELP- Platina/Oxidation
builtforspeed replied to Bongo Fury's topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
That is horrible. Are they single bay storage units? Did you use any damp rid units ? I invested in a westmarine air dryer, circulator this year and kept it on all winter plus the damp rid knock offs from dollar tree . but I guess if you have it inside you would expect it to be safe. Again that is horrible, not something you want to find when you think your baby is safe. -

Yes, I was able to sell one of my first boards so i talked my self into it ,you know how that is. i wish it was a new boat but that will have to wait , I know that is your goal as well . Any hits on your boat yet? -
Conditions a lot of us dealt with in CA at the end of last summer 4 ft would be a dream come true as long as there was still some launch ramp below. Some spots have brought in movable launch mats.
