  2. 2 questions...

Seriously? The cooler drains into the storage compartment behind the observer seat? Insane...then that would make sense why my carpet was soaked. I was thinking it was due to rain, and there was a leak somewhere. With 3 amps, a kicker subwoofer, and two batteries, I don't like the idea of water going into that compartment.
  3. Gladiator Tower broke?!?!?!?

Thank you all for the excellent feedback...I like you guys already. Chris at Choplin Marine sold us the boat, and they fixed us right up. Those guys are absolutely awesome. They came to the house and picked up the boat, replaced the tower in just a few days, and had it back to us ready to go. The only thing I can blame Chris for at this point, is getting my butt hooked on a Centurion. CenturionSkier was right. The tower was brand new, so they're thinking it was just a defect. It did appear to sever at what appeared to be a seam where two pieces are welded together. For the speakers, they added an additional safety wire to each one. Thanks, sleevey, for the recommendation to keep an allen wrench on hand and check the screws before taking off from the dock. Columbian Surfer...yup...it was Jordan Lake. I think we passed you one day as you were coming from Seaforth, and we were headed to Seaforth. We should be out Saturday morning for another weekend on the water.
  4. I have had the 2009 Avalanche for 2-3 weeks now, and have had such a great time...until this weekend. It's got the Amphitheater Sound System, which includes 4 Skylon speakers on the Gladiator tower. First, we were going across the lake, and one of the speakers slid off it's track and began hanging by the safety wire. I'm not exactly sure how the speakers fasten...they were installed by our dealer. If it had not been for the safety wire...the speaker would have plowed a friend in the face and probably would have caused a huge injury. The speaker weighs about 40 lbs, I believe. That's issue #1. #2. After we picked up some more friends at the dock, we were heading out again. The water was a little "choppy" due to all of the traffic. Then, one of my friends screams "stop! stop!" and begins pointing at the tower. I came back down to idle speed, looked and noticed that the tower was cracked. After further examination, I found that the tower was cracked all the way around, including the inside seam. It looks like the tower is made out of three pieces...the two side arms, and the large center piece overhead. The center piece appears to be welded to the two side pieces about 6-8 inches after the bend, after where the outer-most speaker mounts. We called the dealer, and the guy we spoke with indicated that he has never heard of the Gladiator tower breaking. However, I don't see very many Centurion boats in this area. The ones I do see have other towers. Has anyone else ever heard of the Gladiator tower breaking? I did read an announcement about the mounting screws/studs, but that's all I could find. I hope that the tower has been thoroughly tested, and that it has been thoroughly tested with the Amphitheater speakers. Combined, the speakers probably add 160 lbs of additional weight. We removed the bimini top before we went out, and we have a wakeboard rack on each side. I can post pictures of the fractures if anyone is interested in seeing. Please let me know if anyone else has heard of any issues with the Gladiator tower. I don't want to be paranoid all the time, and hope that it was just a manufacturing defect.
