  1. Hey guys newbie here, first post! (long time lurker however) I've been looking for boat for my family for almost 1 year now. It would be my first, we will mostly will be surfing. I live in Calgary It's very difficult to find a lot of used inventory as I don't think we have a tonne of Centurion dealers (compared to Tige & MC for instance) so it's hard to come by something and due to the rather crappy $$ exchange right now, combined with taxes and shipping costs it's very rare to find something in the US that nets out to a good deal. I'm really looking for a boat without Sideswipe as I really would like to not have to crank the stereo to drown out the exhaust noise or be nervous about the noise if we decide to go early in the morning. This adds another problem as it seems that every boat in the years that i'm looking at has that exhaust type! (2007/2008). I have found a couple boats, 1 that has sideswipe, 1 that doesn't and the price is pretty close to the same, however i have not gotten into the nitty gritty negations yet. The basics of it is both are 2007's one has Sideswipe with 150 hours, one doesn't but has around 450. Both are $40k Would you guys consider 450 too many hours? I like that boat better (cosmetics and no sideswipe), but the hours is a concern particularly if i ever resale. Thanks for the feedback!
  2. Bluesman, thanks I hope it all works out too. I'll be changing the boat status in my profile when it's all done it gets back to my place in Calgary. We have a little trailer at the Shuswap so boats probably gonna stay there for the season so a meet would be great on the Shuswap. We're up there for just under a month in the summer. My wife and I are pretty much beginners with this wake surfing thing and we've only surfed behind a smaller Supreme and rented smaller Mastercrafts. It's gonna be sweet to inherit a turn key wave like Dreamers dialled in on his old boat.
  3. Deal in principal, just got to sort out the details/boat survey (I'm sure it will be great, just gotta do my due diligence) and figure out how I'm gonna get it back to Calgary as I have storage here. Pretty stoked!
  4. Thanks for you help John. I guess i now have the second best port side wake on your lake and i'm sure one of the best on the Shuswap
  5. Yep. Any background on that one would be great. Rockballer, I wish i could hear the sideswipe or one with a silenced tip on it to make a judgement as a lot I'm going by is hearsay (from this board really!). WIth the lack of Sideswipe on new boats it seems to me to have been a feature that was sold/received very well but in practice didn't go over to well. The idea really seems sound and when I started looking it was on my feature list. I just really want a quite boat especially for tunes.

If you drive in through Alberta can't you save 7%? Sales tax (May 2014) will be charged depending on the province where you enter into Canada. 4 provinces charge PST (Provincial Sales Tax): British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba (RST), Québec (QST). Provinces and territories that charge HST (Harmonized Sales Tax): New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island. Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon have no sales tax at all.
