As Tommy correctly points out, the Skisafe policy may be issued with an "optional" 4 month lay-up period. This suits most boaters in colder climates, who may be out of the water for the winter months. During the optional lay-up period, your boat is still insured while it's stored on land or being trailered. And of course, you may choose a policy without a lay-up if it's more suitable for your personal boating needs.
