  1. My boat does have a ballast/fuel access but it seems to be water tight. I guess I will use the shop vac and if that doesn't work I can always use a hole saw.
  2. Just recently bought an 07 Avy and was washing the boat down to find all the wash water was just standing in the interior. My last boat(99 Elite v) had two drains at the back of the interior just after the carpet which drained into the bilge area. Did Centurion eliminate these or am I just missing something. If they eliminated them has anyone installed some aftermarket drains? Trying to get everything done now so I can enjoy the new toy- new to me for sure and practically new with only 11 hours on it. Brian
  3. So I was out the other day and started to overheat. Got it in before we overheated and after pulling it out of the water the impeller was totally gone and it broke two pieces of the housing off as well. I have got the two hard peices from the housing out already. I was able to get most of the pieces of teh impeller but still looking for advice on how far to take it apart looking for the rest. Does anyone have experience with this? I am thinking small stuff will just go thru. I am sure plenty of lake crap makes it thru. My thoughts are to backflush from the waterpump back. Your thoughts Brian
  4. So the boat is fixed-- it was the module sensor in the distributor. So I changed the cap, rotor, wires and coil before changing the sensor. So I fixed the boat while giving it a tune up. Thanks for everyone's help. I will try to pass on the experience I have gained during my vacation(supposed to be baoting not working on the boat). Brian Bring On Another Thou$and
  5. I still and always got the fuel pump sound. I think I have found my problem--ignition sensor module in the distributor. I will let everyone know tomorrow. I am trying to pick the part up tomorrow. Mine seems to be ignition and not fuel. Good luck finding your problem. I have learned alot tearing mine apart.
  6. Checked kill switch-- it seemed to be good. Is there a test for the kill switch besides running and pulling it? and it was turning over at the same rate during first start up. Charging battery now and will try in the morning with fresh battery charge. It already ruined a boys night out while on vacation.
  7. So i got stranded yesterday. We were out cruising and hit a big wave that scared my 7 year old--boat was still running fine. We finished cruising over to our spot to hang out and shut down. Later went to fire back up and it attempted to start but never made it to idle. Next attempts to start it turned over but never started. I checked for water in the fuel filter but nothing. Fuel comes from the schrader valve on the manifold. Changed the coil and nothing different. Battery is good--checked at store and reads 12.7. Any thoughts? thanks in advance Brian
  8. Just curious about the group buy. I guessed I missed the call but what was the price of PP? Brian
  9. Snap On Cover or Not

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will try the snap cover this fall with snaps under the rubrail. I am going the DIY way. Never been scared of any other projects why should I be scared of this one. thanks again Brian
  10. So I am in need of a new cover. I was thinking of changing to seperate snap on covers instead of the drawstring style. I am not a fan of the snaps on a boat but was wondering what others think of the snap on cover. Please reply why you like one or the other especially if you have had both types. Not worried about trailering just looking for another cover that took a beating in the snow this year. Brian
  11. Does anyone know if there is a rig for the rudder tube? I removed the tube where the steering cable goes thru prior to the rudder to remove corrosion. I am pretty sure it is in the same position but want to double check the rig. There is a slight hesitation when turning right. Can anyone help? Brian
  12. The guide tube is the brass tube the steering cable goes thru. The tube is held in place by a 4 bolt clamp block. I am not sure that guide tube is the correct term but it is the brass tube the cable goes thru before attaching to the rudder.
  13. I am not trying to hijack this thread but I was wondering if anyone knows how to rig the guide tube for the steering cable. I have a 99 elite V and I had to take out some corrosion in the tube from the brackish water that I ride in. I put everything back together just the way it came apart and feels pretty good but there seems to be a small hangup when turning the wheel to the right. Any thoughts would help if not I will try to rig by feel in the steering wheel.
  14. Just take your old belt in and have them measure it. It should be 88 inches or 2240mm. I bought an Auto Zone belt the other day for $29.99 and it works like a champ. Just take the size and the originial to make sure it is the correct size. A belt is a belt
  15. Thanks for the trick-- I will try next time I am out. Also thanks for the flush kit thread.-- I tried that trick and three out of three times it started without hesitation. Thanks again Brian
