  1. The fly high sacs are well worth the money, They are made out of the same material as white water rafts. The others that I have seen look like they will last about the same amount of time as a air mattress. What i did last year because (I didn't want to spend a few hundred on pumps) Harbor freight has pumps that work well enough for me. They say that they pump 200 gpm. the only catch is that they don't like to run dry.
  2. Do you remove your paddle wheel?

I have had three boats with paddlewheels towed them long distances, never taped up or removed. Never had any problem. Just getting lucky? I never cross my chains either.
  3. Sounds like a bad voltage regulator on alternator. Just my geuss
  4. Local dealers just suck it out fill hole. Fill it to where it is about 3/4" above full mark on dipstick, Then check it right after running it first time. Cooler drains back into trans case after it sits for a while so if you fill it only to full mark it will be low when running.
  5. I had to add cleats on my boat as well, On my boat there was plywood backing glassed into hull already. Put tape on outside of hull where you are going to drill (sometimes help prevent chipping). Drill smaller holes first and finish with a large bit. If you run large bit backwards to cut through gelcoat you wont get chips. I used to work in a boat plant and the best bits to use for the final hole were dull ones because they wouldn't grab and cause chipping as much.
  6. poosie, How well does the 1100 sac fit in your locker? Thats what I was going to do last year but on advice from others I went with the 750. After some experimenting with moving people around I need to add about 400 to the rear.
  7. I take it you have two batteries do you have a switch or an isolater? My thought was if you have an isolater it will charge whichever battery needs it the most and maybe when it is not charging battery that perfect pass runs off of it may show a lower voltage and that is what makes perfect pass beep? I had a rv once that had a isolater, house battery always was favored by isolater and would make motor run like crap when travelling. I finally had to do away with isolater.
  8. Sunglasses

This year when pulling bought out of storage I found a tooth. Last year my youngest nephew was trying to learn a 180 in the air on his wakeboard. After on attempt, i circled around and he motioned me over but wouldn't say what he wanted. When boat was close enough he handed someone his tooth that was loose and he had been playing with all weekend. The next attempt he stuck his 180.
  9. just a thought, my last boat had a carb as well and when ethanol came along had nearly exact problem. It is amazing how much water ethanol can absorb and when it seperates in the bottom of your float bowl it can cause weird problems. I have a construction company and everything that had carbs on them we had problems with, fuel lines cracking and water seperating in float bowls. I aded the largest water seperating filters i could find, that have drains in bottom, on equipment. On my boat I only ran super that I could buy that was non-ethanol after it ruined a day.
  10. wakesurf boards for little guys

was looking around on craigslist yesterday and spotted a skurfer on craigslist for $10 only 20 min away. on the bottom it says neptune and on top it says scepter, I have no idea what kind of board it is but it looks like it will work well and the price was right. Where is a good place to buy traction? I looked online and the stuff that i see looks to pricey for this board. Was thinking of just spraying bedliner on it. anyone try this? or have a better alternitive?
  11. Ballast bags

only bow ballast i use is extra people when i have more than 4 in the boat i put lightest in front. 900 just on one side would be good for surfing. but you may want some midship to front to make pocket a little longer.
  12. Ballast bags

I have a 03 elite v, what i run for surfing is center factory ballast full which i believe is 250lbs. 750 lb. fatsack on surf side rear locker, 250 lbs. of lead in front of bag 750 lb. fatsack on surfside halfway under pass seats and halfway into observers compartment. 3 to 5 passengers on surf side want to add about 200 more to very back of boat on surf side this year.
  13. wakesurf boards for little guys

Thanks for the suggestions, he is a pretty good wakeboarder, last year learned how to do a 180 in the air. I put him on his wakeboard and he can surf pretty well but we left the bindings on and almost every time he would come off the top of wave the front of the wakeboard would dig. I considered taking off the bindings but firgured that would end up getting something broken or lost evertime we changed it over. What exactly is a skurfer? is it just an old school wakeboard? Are skimboards easy or harder to ride than a foam core board? We just started wakesurfing middle of last year and haven't tried a skimboard yet.
  14. My youngest nephew weighs 70 lbs. and the smallest surf board i have is a broadcast. He has a hard time getting up on it because he doesn't weigh enough to force edge into the water. I am getting ready to build another board for myself, i figured i may as well build a small board for him as well, and was wondering what would for basic length and width measurements for little man boards. anyone have a board that works well for lightweights and would send me some measurements? thanks
  15. I called him and it took about a week for him to get back to me but he said that he had a pattern for a 02 elite. my boat is a 03 and he wasn't sure if it was the same or not but i haven't called him back to tell him that they are the same. CeeDee and dirtracer, I am pretty sure that as long as your boats aren't the c4 hull it will be the same as the 02elite. Maybe someone that knows for sure can chime in but i have seen discussion of hulls on CC before and thats what i remember.
