Here is a couple of pics from yesterday's surf. Only me and a buddy but that means I need to bring out all of the sacks. So, 1 500lbs under the glovebox locker, a 750lb on the seat, a 350 on the floor and another 750 in the port locker next to engine. So about 2300bls to get our wake up to standard. I'm such a freaking wake snob, if the wake is weak, I dont' want it!

OK ok, we all KNEW I'd fall in love with the monster wakes at the CCC event. Time to sell the '98 Elite V Drive and get a bigger/newer boat for our crew. I really loved Grandpa's boat, it's the right weight, size, length, wake, etc. Not that I don't like Admin's or Dr Nates or any other boat that showed (I only rode on 3), but I can only afford about 22 feet and 5 plus years older than this year 2013) So hence I'm starting a thread for MY BOAT, so I might be a little lean on locations (this isn't a CL thread BUT I would love any input you guys have, think or can inject. Here is MY starting criteria ... subject to change: - A Deep Hull 4Klb boat, not the '98 thin' hull for slalom! - Length: 22 feet or about that - Quick Fill / AND Goofy wake at least decent no required pro level (we're worn out on half hour fill times and manual bag crap) - Stereo Upgraded will be a big plus (Those wetsounds aren't cheap but they sound great!) - Lower hours on the engine (but not a deal breaker for the right boat) - Budgeting between 20K and 30K What I've seen that I like: The 03 to 07 or so Avalanche seems pretty much in my range, with 4K dry weight (will work on our existing lift of 4,100 lbs). I was pleasantly pleased with Sideswipe and it's not a downer for me as I might had originally thought. Not that bad in the boat. I'm not turned off on lighter boats (the Air Warrior for example) but that just means we need to pump more weight on the boat (ballast). Boo I'm not against driving a state or three away from Texas for the right deal. Unless I save a whopper, I'm not going to ship a boat for $1,200 to $1,500 unless I can save that money on the sales price. Yeah, I'll need a trailer too, even tho we have the slip/lift. Idk man, this is the 4th start-the-dang-boat-while-were-a-drift... related part I've replaced! So starter replaced. Check. New cables to and from battery, check. All fuses are good, check. Batteries isolated and powered, check, safety harness in, check. Neutral, check. position 1 power is up to gauges, check. postion 2 and everything drops and no clicking on starter... maybe faint "tick" but not it kicking the bolt out to the flywheel. Boat fails to do anything, but when the switch rotates 360, I realize the problem is right here at the helm. What is up with these plastic POS!?? IS this stock or some aftermarket goofball that lost the original keys and needed a cheap replacement. grrrr, getting new one with brass. best 40 bucks spent ever.

Huh? according to the times you reach out to me, this is my second issue in 26 months. Warning, it's painful... I slugged through 6 of these, way boring. This was the best. However, I think this guy is learning to surf heal side goofy...as that's how he thinks it's done. Looks like his second day attempting it ever. See if you can point out a few other mistakes that's hurting Rustys wake surfing career. I counted at least 5 LOL... Watch the speed of the boat too...

So essentially a house key will work. I am back to a button idea. who cares if its stolen unless the cops recover it and give it back to me just under totaled, and I have to spend hundreds of hours and 9 months w insurance, repair shop, etc. then it sucks.

I wish they'd get a plastic shovel that looks metal and hit them, more Johnny Knox style so I can actually laugh. When the shovel is 4 feet away on the swing, it's harder to believe, still funny tho, good find!

The strange thing, which leads me away from the plastic POS is the fact we only experience it when the engine is hot, and not usually in the first hour on the water. After about our 3rd or 4th break of stopping the engine, this issue occurs. So while yes I'm now a pro at jumping the bolts behind the fuse reset mounting plate (to force starter to go)... something is odd that its happening after its been hot a while. So we'll see if this resolves it or makes the mystery deepen!

dammit! ok thanks true.. This is what you get when you get a boat like this. 18 months of no maintenance. Figure depreciation on the last owner was hitting almost $500 a month, it's time to sell what you got left. Ok, so next to the last part to replace, this week. :/ I'm whining yes. LOL
