  1. Ok thanks! I did go to dealership he had the boat serviced at in Cali when I picked up boat. They had all the records. He did maintain it well. But there was no record of impellar change
  2. Unless I get water over bow or pads boat seems to stay dry. It's been a learning curve to figure out how to keep water out. Bilge won't run all day if I don't surf. Bone dry... lake was very choppy due to traffic last time out. Lotta water over rear pad. had about 4 in of water in rear locker when i drained sac. Did some checking on oil pump. Leaning boat should not affect it unless you are really low on oil. My oil pressure doesn't budge when leaning. So I am going to assume it's belt slip. Ran the boat hard afterwards for at least 2 hr's tubing and wakeboarding. And temp never budged. Also never heard it squeak again. I bought boat this spring with 100 hr's on it. It now has 170. I did buy an impellar. But haven't changed. When should they be changed? Boat did not have ballast before I bought it. They just used to pull kids around
  3. Oil level is always to the top. Check all fluids before starting. My family owns a large bridge building company. We have over 200 pieces of large equipment that operate on steep slopes all day every day. Some machines have over 20,000 hr's on them. Not sure how I could run oil pump dry? Motor will make squeaking sound when ballast are emptied out also. I would guess there would be alot of crank issues if that was the case. Correct me if I am wrong.. The temp does spike when it squeal's. Just doesn't sound like belt squeal. Guess I will try less ballast and see. Sure do love the push when it's loaded though. The squeal is most often after I shut off motor and restart. Takes about 3 to 5 seconds to go away. And it only happens once or twice after I empty ballast. So it is related to leaning the boat. Whatever it is.
  4. Will do!! Looking like early next spring. So how is Willard Bay? Asked my buddy that lives to down in Utah county. But he has not been up there. I have been on Utah lake a few times. And up to Deer creek and Jordanelle. Have a friend that lives up in Eden she keeps a boat up there Pine something I think?
  5. Haha! Just watched a youtube vid with you and bigcat. Cant wait to get back to Utah. I will fit in good with you guy's. My avy put's out about the same wake from what I can tell... Hey Super I did switch to the 1579 prop. Boat seems to have ton's of power. Had my 1100, 560 both 400's and my center tank full. Prolly another 1000 In peep's. And Maybe couple hundered in Beer. Lol! Water was 89 degrees air temp was around 100
  6. Lol! Ok I will check for blockage 1st. I am guessing as fast as it cools down that the impellar is fine. Also boat never budges off 175 unless surfing. Could belt be slipping on water pump? I have vent taped. I do get some water over back of pads when turning. Also bilge would kick in when I would turn boat to the right.
  7. 08 avalanche.. 2000 in ballast 7 people on boat and after have been surfing for awhile boat will start to overheat... Buzzer goes off around 200 and back off throttle cools right down. Also will make a squeaking sound . Doesn't sound good. Empty all ballast out and boat runs fine.. Also couple times after this happens and I restart it will make the squeaking sound again. This has happend twice in the last 40 hrs. Both times had over 6 people in boat... Ran the boat wakeboarding and tubing rest off the day. Stayed 175 all day. I am thinking I might be getting water on belt? But doesn't sound like belt squeal. Also could boat be tipped to far and impellar having trouble pulling water? Boat has 160 hrs. I do have impellar was going to start there with new belt. Any input would be great. Thanks!!!
  8. Prolly Utah county... I am trying to find a job now. Have a great job in Mn so its going to be a tuff deal. But I think we can do it... I spent 5 years In Utah up till 09. I really miss. But it is a low paying right to work state. I lived In Draper before
  9. Heading to the lake in the morning.... Will measure clearance and post. Go from there I guess. Will they cut the prop to whatever I need? Also how much clearance should I have to be safe?
  10. Ok sounds good. I will prolly go with the 1579 then. We are planning on moving back to Utah in the next year also. So will be bck up in elevation.
  11. Will do! Gelcoat looks like new now. But I will measure anyway... So will the 645 be alot better out of the hole? Not work the boat so hard? Heading to the lake this weekend will let you guy's know what I have for clearance... Sure am hooked on the surfing thing... Can't belive we didn't try it sooner
  12. I am leaning towards the 5 blade. Would they trim it to 13.5? Also would the 5 blade be ok for elevation up to 6,500 ft? Just curious... With the price of props I don't want to be buying a bunch of them.
  13. 08 Avalanche 330 scorpian. Mon I had my 1100lb sac two 400's and center tank full. Also had about 1,400lbs of people in boat. Motor had a hard time getting to 10.5 mph. Prop is a 497. I don't know alot about props this is my first v-drive. I am at 1,300 feet but will be up to 4,500 ft in the near future. Boat was running 3000 rpm's at 10.5 Once up to speed would hold fine... What are you guy's running for rpm's at 10.5? Awsome wake thou..
  14. 08 avalanche 130 hrs. Prolly 25 hrs on all fluids. Boat has been flawless. So today hit a shallow spot in lake. Was just creeping along heard the prop hit a little sand. Shut off jumped out and pushed off sand bar. No biggie. Did have the boat leaning from surfing. Anyway drained tanks and cruised around a bit. Then decided to do a little wakeboarding. Made one run down the lake wiped out. Got back in boat. While sitting on platform heard a slight ticking noise. Opened motor compartment could heard it but really faint. Opened up seat for v-drive and was more noticable. V-drive was cold to the touch. Put boat in neutral and nioise went away. Put in gear and started ticking again. At 1200 rpm ticking goes away. Any idea's could the prop be out of wack and causing low speed vibration? Again all fluids looked great. Ticking was hard to hear you had to listen for it. But wasn't there prior to today. Boat feels the same nice and smooth.... Thanks!!! Also you guy's here in MN have any places you recommend to have boat looked at? I am in the Rochester area.
  15. No I don't have any factory ballast other than center tank. Feel kinda dumb. I didn't notice hole in bottom of the bag when I pulled them out. Sorry for the dumb question. But thanks much for the great answer. Guess I will look harder next time.
