  1. The rattle was coming from the hinge on the plate. The plate doesn't actually have a hinge. The ends where it pivots are curled and the two halves slide together. It's kind of a sloppy fit. The exhaust flapper also directs the exhaust down onto the plate causing it to rattle. If you have 2 actuator rams the plate/hinge is not as sloppy. I did take the wing off. But my goofy wake is already excellent because I have RH rotation so I was trying the wing for my regular side.
  2. I put one on my 2010 avy with single actuator and it rattled like crazy. The exhaust outlet comes out right on to it. It would probably be better on a boat with the newer single exhaust or sideswipe.
  3. New boat time

    Very nice! Love the black
  4. The newer model has a taller deck so you have a bit more freeboard when loaded up. You also get PCM motors on the newer model. I think that the right hand rotation was optional which is great for goofy side. Another option for 2010 was the Pro vision dash that has a speed/ cruise control.
  5. Family Summer Video

Excellent video!! Looks like you guys had a busy summer. Your dog looks like it could be related to ours. (Staffordshire bullterrier)
  6. Looking for LED lights

Steveston marine had a good selection of LED lights at the Vancouver boat show. I would check their web site.
  7. ProFlight Gforce tower

If you surf goofy the RH rotation is a good thing!!
  8. School me on the Elite V

Where abouts in Canada are you? There's an 2007 Avalanche at Extreme Boats in Chilliwack for 38k. Only 81 hours.
  9. Just fill it up and then turn the key to on position and let the fuel system pressurize for a few seconds. Should fire right up.
  10. Well it looks like after 75 hrs on my 2010 avalanche it's time to replace the shaft seal. Lubed it with grease but it still leaks. Going with a pss seal. I read the Enzo has a 1 3/4" stern tube diameter, can anyone confirm that the avalanche is the same? Thanks,Dave
  11. I'm changing my seal as well and talked to Fineline about the oj seal. But after reading about other crew members posts on the pss seal I think it's the way to go.
  12. I do like to save a few dollar$. (something about being born in Scotland).....but I want to do it right the first time.New pss seal on the way.
  13. Bearing leak trouble

The drip is normal. This is the drive shaft packing nut. If you follow the drive shaft to where it goes through the hull you will see a large brass nut and a thinner lock nut. Loosen the thinner lock nut and tighten the larger nut and this will slow down the drip. It should drip about 1 drip around every 10 seconds or so when idling in gear. It doesn't take much to get the drips to slow down. Once you have it adjusted you should be good for the summer. You usually have to adjust it every spring. Dave
  14. Ugh engine lock

I think I would remove the valve cover and check the cylinder that spark plug came out of and check to see if it dropped a valve. That's a simple thing to check before you go into the bottom end.
  15. Ugh engine lock

If the starter sounds like its spinning freely maybe the flex plate let go.
  16. Our New 233

WOW That color combo looks sharp!
  17. Break in period

If I remember the PCM manual says 10 hours to break in before you do anything. You want to vary the rpm at first to make sure the rings etc seat properly. The engine manual will come with your boat.
  18. I bought some hose so that the pumps are inside the divider panel
  19. You might not notice much difference in fuel consumption between them. With the 5.7 you will need more throttle to get out of the hole where the 6.2 might not require as much throttle. As far as sideswipe both will sound the same.
  20. I've always used NGK in my boats and everything else. Go to Lordco Dave, See you on the water!
  21. Big Fella Boards

I had a Soulcraft made last year and it is very fast down the line. Give Jeff a call and he will ask you a few questions and suggest the board and size that will work best for you. You won't be disappointed.
  22. Factory Pump Question

Are you talking about the green impellers? If so you should check yours first to see if they are already installed from the factory. Mine were on our avy. As far as ballast pumps go I have the same tank set up as you and installed the 1100's in the lockers and use the stock ballast puppy's to fill. After each fill pump I have a Forespar 1" Y valve and plumbed it so I can fill either sac with both fill pumps at the same time.I haven't timed how long it takes to fill but it is under 10 minutes.
