  1. CRAIGSLIST FINDS

sent you a PM about the speakers.
  2. if you have a boatmate trailer, they sell exact fit for both single and dual axle trailers: https://www.boatmateparts.com/product_details.php?itmId=12
  3. I bought a 2004 lightning this year and the previous owner stated that they had a problem with one of the ballast pumps (I believe due to failure to winterize the pumps) and had a dealer/mechanic replace the intake pump. I have been unable to get the ballast to fill/drain this year. Both the pumps work fine and the tank was completely full when I went to winterize this year. However, when I turn the drain pump on, it doesn't seem to prime. I realized that if I blow air in the vent line (port side), it starts to pump out of the tank. Has anyone had this situation occur and what was the remedy? Also, I don't believe the setup is how it came from the factory. It has the thru-hull on the transom, which is immediately connected to a mayfair 1000 gph pump. After the pump the hose is routed to the tank. On the drain side, a mayfair 1000 gph pump is directly connected to the tank, which is connected to the drain hose and routed to the starboard side of the boat. Anyone have any suggestions as to why my ballast isn't draining? I ran the fill pump and never saw overflow out of the side of the boat so I assume the tank wasn't filling. Is a check valve needed between the fill pump and ballast tank? Anything on the drain side to get the pump to prime? Thanks for the help.
  4. So I had a pinched vent line that I replaced and was finally able to drain the ballast. Went out the next weekend and now the ballast tank won't fill....I guess it is back to the drawing board.
  5. I was going to try to install the battery on the starboard side under the seat (similar to the stock battery location) but on the other side. My boat currently has a tray under the starboard seat, but I was planning on removing and installing a battery box.
  6. Let me know how your install went. I am planning on adding a second battery to my lightning as soon as it warms up a little.
  7. skiboatcovers.com makes a really nice cover as well. If you are storing outside, I would recommend the side skirts that the can make to keep the sun off the gelcoat. I had one for my MC prostar and haven't had to polish/compund the boat since buying the cover.
  8. Thanks for the help guys. I have no problem using this method to get it primed, I didn't know if there was something I could do to prevent this from happening again. Anyone know where/how to get to the vent line? I can't see where the vent line is connected to the tank and the center floor cannot be removed in my year.
  9. Good Afternoon All, I just recently picked up a 2004 Lightning and I am loving it. I am coming from an 89 MC prostar, so it is quite the upgrade in creature comforts, ride, and performance. Everything has been flawless so far except my trailer brakes are starting to lock up when going forward, and it is only on the passenger side. I have ensured that the 7-pin is plugged in but I am still experiencing them locking up. I only trailer maybe 100 yards to the ramp and they will release for a little and then catch again. I made a few hundred mile trip when I picked the boat up and I didn't have one issue. Has anyone else experienced the same problem. I am fairly mechanical but I do not have any experience with trailer brakes so I don't know the first thing to look for. I plan on checking the fluids next time I am down at the boat. It is a 2004 boatmate trailer btw. If anyone has any insight on my problem, that would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I believe that they are disc brakes on my trailer. I am going to pull the wheels off this weekend and see if anything looks funny. Thanks for the suggestions and help.
