  1. dream wakeplate

have done some looking and probably go with 12X12 with the long rams as long as you don't think that's a bad choice over the 14X12. When I do the install, I assume i need to take the engine hatch off and pop the exhaust off. I'm not a DIY guy so just unclamp the hose at both ends and remove? Anything else I need to look out for?
  2. dream wakeplate

I'll check into the site-Thanks. Is there any advantage in your mind going with the 102XD's to get a potentially bigger plate that allows greater adjustability but doesn't run the risk of negatively influencing the surf wave? In other words would you go with a 12X12 or 14X12 if you could get it up out of the way? I thought maybe in one of the old threads you were playing with that idea... The 14" plate I'm assuming is custom and not factory issue? Again I will check the website you supplied. Anyone mounted a teleflex lever on the steering column as a control? Did you use a guage for plate position? How bad is that? Saw Colombian Surfer and OWD's thread and it looked a bit complicated. The lenco LED switch seemed expensive for a little piece of plastic but appears simpler. Other thoughts?
  3. just getting started so the list is long. Over the winter I would like to install 1.)lenco TT 2.)custom avy sac ala bigcatpt. If I can scarf PP Wakeboard pro pieces from a stargazer upgrader and hook it to my paddlewheel that would be bonus. Save the stereo/speaker project for the following fiscal year. I've got $1K of play money this fall to get started before the ski racing season starts. 3 boys divided by 10 pairs of skis does not = boat upgrades if you know what I mean...
  4. tear in seats

didn't get the seal cement yet but I got some permatex when I was ordering some boat polish. Easy to use. Nothing fancy but I needed the tear fixed as it was getting bigger each day and right in a seat seam. Gets a lot of rub as it is right where the passenger seat hatch opens and closes. Made it through a day today with 8 boys ages 8-13 which I consider a successful test run... http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/store...;classNum=10833

  6. what are you using for wax? Anything you recommend above Starbrite? Rubbing compound ok on moderately oxidized gelcoat?
  7. tear in seats

Thanks for the ideas. Big winds didn't have much on their site (black only) so I got some clear "seal cement" on amazon and will give it a try. I'll let you know how it works if any interest.
  8. tear in seats

thanks Packrat. Unfortunately we are in east bumble and local marina is a Moomba but not much coming into our little town. I checked with the marina a while back and they just gave me a blank look...
  9. do you run your battery switch only on #2?
  10. Duffy, I read your install post and it sounded like you went with a 14"x12" @ one point. Did you like the 14"x10" better? Did you have problems with the custom plate bending and how did you deal with it? Was it stainless or aluminum that bent? I was hoping the dual actuators might cut down on the plate bending. What year is your C4? I have an '03 Avy walk through transom and it looks like same hull shape from your pics. I looked at bigcats custom ballast post and his looks like an '03. Anyone know if he has a power plate? Joe B how are you gonna brace it? Is yours fixed behind the blade or is it power/electric? Probably a dumb question but we occasionally slalom behind my avy when my buddy's boat is unavailable. Wake is "firm" @ 32mph. Anyone have experience at minimizing wake with the electric plate in the full down position?
