  1. Thanks guys, I'll get one on the way! I assume someone thought it would be better, but I don't think so. Amazing what you find in a used boat sometimes!
  2. While doing winterization on my boat, a 03 Sportbowrider, I pulled the thermostat housing and to my discovery, I don't have a thermostat? I just bough this boat during the summer, and noticed that it ran very cool, but never thought too much about it. This would explain why. My question is, why would someone pull the thermostat?? Of coarse I'm going to put one in it next spring, but I just found it weird that someone would pull the thermostat out. What temp should I run? 160? Thanks Mike
  3. Twitchy boat?

It has varied on glassy or some chop, but happens in any water. The fins aren't ventiliated, but they seem tight anyway, I checked that. The speed seems to be at about anything over 23 or 24 mph, the faster the more it does it. I've had anywhere from just me, to 6 people in the boat and experienced the same thing. Although with more people it seems to do it more, but I haven't tried moving them around to different spots. But it does it with just me in the boat also, that's why I thought it was something out of adjustment. I'm interested in the rudder tuning, but I can't find anything in the searching. Maybe I'm not looking for the right keywords, but rudder tuning isn't coming up with anything that pertains.
  4. Twitchy boat?

So how do I tune a rudder? No noise associated with it, steering box is fine also, I just replaced the steering cable last month, and it did this before and after. Yeah, the rear of the boat just kicks out and back in, and I can't correct anything with steering, it does it with no movement of the steering wheel.
  5. Twitchy boat?

Well, I guess maybe? Sure doesn't feel like this, and I've been a boater for quite sometime, this is just a new boat to me. Even on a glassy lake, can be moving along and feels rock solid, then the rear just jumps sideways and then corrects. It will do this pretty consistantly no matter whether the water is smooth or a little choppy, wind or no wind. The rear just twitches sideways and then back straight. Maybe the rear tab? Althought it doesn't look like anything adjusts, it might move if the bolts are loosened?
  6. What causes a twitchy boat? I've just had my boat this season, 2003 Sportbowrider, and I've had this all year. Rudder is tight, and new steering cable, so I don't think it's a steering thing. Going straight down the lake, with no steering movement, it will just twitch every so often? That's the best way I can discribe it. It is pretty noticible, but not like it's out of control, you just feel it kind of twitch. Any help? Mike
  7. Well, I changed my steering cable, as it was a bear to turn, now, it's great! One question, since I'm not sure, how sensative is it supposed to be? Now, I barely breath on the wheel and I turn! tracks pretty straight, but seems like I'm over correcting all the time now? Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, definately better than the strong arm wheel I had before! Just curious. Mike
  8. Yep, 142.00, just ordered one
  9. Where exactly was the block pressure sensor located? What's it look like?
  10. Anybody got the number for them? I looked on website and just found where I could email them, did that but after 5 days no reply.
  11. I have a 2003 sport bowrider and I've got the 350 Mag? Anyway, just changed mine, took about 30 mins, super easy. Take the belt off, undo the hoses, couple bolts and it's off. 4 bolts on the workbench and it's apart. Pry the old impeller out and put the new one in, just pay attention to the direction of the fins. Put new gasket in, assemble in reverse order. Really in our boat it's a piece of cake. Mike
  12. I'll grease it up while I'm in there checking, thanks for the tip!
  13. I'm guessing that the sensor can go bad, as a previous post said. I changed the impeller and the old one was intact and didn't look that bad, but I changed it anyway. I gotta get the code read, but I'm bettin that's it. Still feels like it's runnin strong, but at 90% it would be hard to tell.
  14. Cool, I'll check there, it's not too bad to get to. I've been back to the rudder once already, because the bolt attaching the cable to the rudder was loose, I just didn't realize I needed to replace the cable at that point, or I would have looked for a number.
