  1. How much damage did I do?

I'm a bit late on this post but I have bought a bit of stuff from these guys (www.marinehardware.com) very knowledgeable and helpful.
  2. SAD DAY

Winterize? what's that? The beauty of living in the land down under. Ski all year round (although I must admit 70 degrees can be a bit cold in the winter) Summer's just around the corner - brewskies and skiing...doesn't get much better than that fellas
  3. Prop Shaft Bearing/Seal

If you pump too much grease into the seal you'll blow the seal. It's a bit of tral and error unfortunately!
  4. Side decals

Hey guys does anyone know where I can get "Genuine" side decals for my 05 Elite? The missus scraped the side of my boat...Not happy!
  5. Prop selection

    Cheers Elc :-)
  6. ANYONE KNOW THIS BOAT

G'day mate I imported an 05 Elite last year from the Westcoast, bought it sight unseen but reminded the dealer I travel to the US regularly and would look him up if I had any troubles (paidf him a visit a month after he shipped it so he knew I was dinkum)! I paid $USD19K for the boat and it cost me another $AUD10K to land it. You can see how much I saved doing it myself (05's sell in Oz for 50-60). The dealers over here are greedy oscar the grouches! check out www.theboathunters.com they buy repo's as well. I've done alright out of it, spent an extra couple of thousand on bits and pieces (gotta expect a few things wrong). Best time to buy in the US is Nov-Feb before or after that the prices are pretty inflated. Top boat too, just like driving a big yank tank! We use it for slalom/wake/kneeboard. Like you, got some ripper "real" breaks down th esouth coast (SA) Cheers.
  7. Prop selection

G'day Fellas I have an 05 Elite with a #491 prop which I'm looking for advice on. This prop is good for pulling you out of the hole, but runs out of legs (doing 4,000rpm at 30mph)when I want to ski. Unlike most of you guys, I'm not into wake surfing (don't shoot me!)so I bought the boat for all round work (slalom skiing (for me) and wakeboarding/kneeboarding/tubing for the kids. As a skier I like to ski at 35mph+ but the boats revving it's tattas off and working pretty hard. Any suggestions for a prop that will better suit my needs? Thanks.
  8. Lets see your tow rig!

Apparently the Challenger was developed for the US market so you might want to keep an eye out for it (was only released in Oz last year which was 12 months ahead of schedule). it's a bloody good 4WD too, has all the top end Mitsubishi running gear. Pulls the boat easily at 110km/h (65mph)
  9. Lets see your tow rig!

2010 Mitsubishi Challenger, 2.5 litre common rail diesel (not sure what it's called in the US of A) Good tow vehicle and not a bad 4WD to boot albeit kinda small by American standards...
  10. Lets see your tow rig!

    Nice 4 wheelin mate!
  11. Hi Guys having a great summer down under. How's your winter...? I'm looking for some replacement side decals for my 05 elite bowrider (the missus ran the boat up the trailer a bit too fast and scratched one side of the boat on the guides ) cheers
  12. Californian moves to Texas and has no clue

Move downunder mate. never have to winterise your boat...ever :-)
  13. It's specifically designed as a wet locker, buggered if I know why they would do that. Design flaw I reckon! Best put your towels in a plastic bag... :-(
  14. Manual

The basic Centurion owners manual is pretty lame, you can find it on their website. If you manage to find a comprehensive one I'd be happy to see it!
  15. Swim Deck

I haven't done this, but I wouldn't suggest you go tapping it out larger until you look at other options. You could try fitting a "Helicoil" (wire thread insert) into the exisiting hole first ( http://www.emhart.com/products/helicoil/default.asp) These inserts are sepcifically designed for repairing stripped threads. You can even find a "how to" on you tube. If you decide to tap out to 1/2" you need to check the thickness of the plate you are screwing into as rule of thumb dictates the plate should be a minimum thickness of 1.5 x the diameter of the thread to be effective. Anything less and you are risking the bolt pulling out and stripping the thread. Hope this helps. Cheers.
