  1. I had 2 pumps go out on me One in the rear was a direct wired johnson that I replaced and had no issue with. When I rewired a replacement Johnson Ultra Ballast Buddy in place of the original factory Water Puppy I am not getting it to work. It looks like I have power to the wire leads and the pump has been tested to be functional elsewhere. However no go on the pump. Any ideas?
  2. Winterization

thought about shrink wrap but winter is pretty mellow in Northern California and thsi will probably be a multi winter deal. Eitherthe 66' Mustang or the boat have to go outside and right now the car is winning the fight for the garage. Struggling with the $400 cost for a fitted cover. Any ideas for a reasonable $200 cover?
  3. We will be storing our boat uncovered outdoors instead of inside this winter We are in California and will be winterizing the boat We have a nice sunbrella bow and cockpit cover but that is it. Should we also be thinking of tarping/buying a traditional cover for winterization?
  4. 2006 Elite V Questions

Beau Dickerson - I found him off of sac craigslsit under services His website is also here https://sites.google.com/site/dickersonupholstery/
  5. We are finally starting to have some fun. My 11 year old is now boarding with full 400 sacs in the lockers and the bow front sac along with our center. I am feeling a little sluggish with our stock prop and I think its time to upgrade. I have read the suggestion to go to a 537 or 1579 I think for our existing setup the 537 is probably right for us. We do not surf, much to his displeasure, and it is strictly wakeboarding, kneeboarding and the occasional tube ride.
  6. I am getting drain but no fill from my factory center ballast. Anyione have a picture of possible setup in a 2006 elite v so I can tell which is which
  7. 2007 elite v c4

we have the same boat - 2006 and we just dealt with this exact same issue I can confirm the boat is very weight sensitive and I end up moving people around even with the ballast installed now. I adjusted my wake plate down prior to getting the ballast simply to get the nose of my boat down as it was pourposing on me with only my wife and I in the boat and son behind it. I have since loaded the boat with people(a couple i nthe front) and used the front sac when its just my wife and I that also works to get the nose down. I choose to get the 2 400 fat sacs and the fron bow sac from wakemakers and I am very happy thus far with the setup. Like was mentioned before I have found that with or without ballast the wake really cleans up nice about 22+ mph. I am still working on getting is fully clean at 20 for my son but so far I can only get 1 side perfect with a tad of wash on the other. Either way the ballast has helped as I just drop the passenger tank about 1/4 full when it is just my wife and I and it works really well.
  8. I guess I am still old school at this point. We have the tubes, the wakebaords and the skis for the kids
  9. Now someone tells me Honestly, neither my wife or I are serious athletes. It is all about the fun and just getting up and being able to ride and cruise without looking like a complete embarrasment. I have to say Monday mornings are not particularly fun at this point. Someone could tell the truck that has hit me the last few weekends enough is enough..lol We boat now strictly for our son. He is an avid snowboarder and now wakeboarder in the summer. These individual sports plus karate and rock climbing have given him the confidence that he was so desperately needing as an uncoordinated 7 year old who was struggling mightily at team sports. The added bonus is that for our household where both mom and dad work and dad travels a decent amount during the week we get 100% undistracted quality time on the weekends with our son when we are camping and out on the water for the entire weekend. Who knows, maybe we will even still be cool past the non cool stage most teenagers hit. No matter, life is good right now and I can't wait for next weekend
  10. The aswesome - My 10 year old jumped the entire wake for the first time this weekend. It was so cool to see his confidence grow and watch him clearing it by 4-5 feet by the end of the weekend. The really Good - New Ballast setup working really well - I have it dialed in with my wife up front with me but still struggling a bit to get a clean wake on my Elite V when she sits in the back. the only other minor hitch was that I blew several fuses this weekend which I need to figure out. the OK - Both my wife and I are getting up consistantly although we are still terrible. Man wakeboarding is a tough sport to pick up at 40. The really sad - 2 fishermen died on our wakeboard slough yesterday. In a tiny little fishing boat 3 men who couldn't swim tried to launch their boat from the bank instead of the boat ramp and they capsized - All 3 could not swim and weren't wearing life jacjkets. This accident was totally preventable but still really sad for the families who had to deal with this on fathers day weekend
  11. AGT?

Stern fan here - I thought he was too soft and passed act's through that were marginal. However, Howie said pretty much the same after LA and St Louis and I think he ewas right. i also am not in to the whole huggy and Kissy Howard persona. With all that being said though I will say I liked the show and they would havev never had me as a viewer without Howard on the show. I understand the warm fuzzy moments trying to loosen up the critics but I hope howards become's the real jusdge he has been boasting about as the show moves forward. The one bright spot was the Parent back and forth where Howard was classical howard. I for one would have booted the 7 year old girl, Told Sergio to take a hike for being a moron and singing a song he couldnt sing and had the Father Daughter combo only come back if the daughter was solo as she carried the dad. So, I give Howard a 7 out of 10 with some definite upside towards making this show really entertaining.
  12. With any luck we will be trying out our new ballast on Saturday. I just dropped the boat off with our boat mechanic. We worked through the details and it looks like a pretty easy install. His biggest concern was pump location, mounting and keeping the tubing from kinking. He is anticipating 6-8 hours to get the ballast installed. I am hoping we get to take her for a test o nSaturday before we leave for vacation.
  13. wet sounds 485 addition

  14. wet sounds 485 addition

Sorry but it took a bit for me to get to boat so I could answeer your questions amp's 2 850 watt kicker amps - 1 smaller kicker amp(600w I think but not positive) Currently I am driving 4 - 6" speakers in the boat and a 12" sub with the 485. I would be using my existing amp setup to drive the new speakers. My head unit is an alpine 4x50 watt bluetooth unite - Stereo tech said it had 2 outputs but not a third output for my 3rd amp so it is splitting one of the rca's. The boat originally had 2 485's with this system but the guy I bought boat from blew one before I bought the boat and sold the empty casing. I am just looking for something to give me a fuller sound quality especially while wakeboarding.
