  1. I did a google search for "trany pics" got something completely different. jiriki, it's a good idea to check that spot peridically, you'll get weeds and whatever else makes it through there that can cause blockage and potentially overheating. Kind of surprised you didn't find any pieces, that thing got mauled. You didn't have any overheating issues prior to the change?
  2. Nice, sounds like you're good to go...and yeah, good thing or I imagine you would have overheated pretty quickly with that old impeller.
  3. The trans cooler? Like big capt said, that's where you find the pieces, etc. It will be up above your transmission with two small hoses leading down to your transmission and a water hose leading in and out. Pull the hose leading from the pump to the trans cooler. How long since you changed that impeller? That thing was a mess...I normally do mine every two years and it looks brand new. Nice job on the mod, fake a lakes are terrible.
  4. Good choice, you won't be dissapointed.
  5. Acme has always suggested using a 3 blade for the 1:1 transmissions which you likely have since it's a 2000. Most of the folks on here run the 911 due to the fact that they're loading up tons of ballast for surfing. You'll lose a bit on the top end but will greatly improve hole shot/towing. I run a 525 on my cyclone since I use it mainly for wakeboarding, skiing, etc. and because I got a good deal on it . So question is, what are your plans for the boat? If at any point you plan on loading it down for surfing you might as well get the 911. It works great for everything else as well. While I can't attest to the top end speeds, most of us drive under 30mph so it's not a big deal. Any of those will likely be a big improvement to what you have now. Typically these boats, at least mine did, come with props that aren't necessarily geared towards agressive wakeboarding/surfing with a lot of weight so you don't necessarily want to replace it with something with similiar specs. My original prop would top out at 50+ MPH but lacked when towing which is why I bought the boat. Anyway, good luck...you're on the right track. There are a ton of threads on the subject if you do a search.
  6. NIce, nothing better than seeing that smile on your kid's face.
  7. They're awesome!...until they're not. That's my thoughts...my still works and I love it, other than voltage alarm that goes off randomly, but I know that I'm on borrowed time and will just replace with a depth finder.

You need to get up on that nose!
  9. Hit and run by Police Boat?

Yeah, I have no idea what he was doing but it definitely looked like he wasn't paying attention and made a last second manuever....either that or he has the boating skill of about 90% of the people I typically see on the lake/river. Did he actually leave the scene, it kind of looked like he slowed down and was planning on heading back.

  11. Hit and run by Police Boat?

Not sure how they'll prove anything, that don't appear to have any video evidence or eye witnesses =/
  12. Been out maybe 4 times. Kids sports and being an accountant make this time of year rough to find the time. I also live in San Diego with basically one reservoir that allows water contact 3 times a week. We have the bay, but I will never put my boat in salt water. Mostly just excuses but bottom line is I just don't use this thing nearly enough. I think I literally spend more time working on it than I do using it. Thought about selling it but realized that would probably be the end of boat ownership for me so I'm keeping it. The river camping trips I do every October are enough for me to justify the cost. So for all of those guys putting several hundred hours a year on their boat, how many of you guys out there are like me and only use it very sparingly?
  13. GoPro

Probably needs the wi-fi, so any Hero 3 and maybe the Hero 2 with the wi-fi thingy. Not sure though.
  14. GoPro

Yeah they're legit...actually last slightly longer than the gopro branded ones. Plus the price. Dark, use a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive on the mount. Then stick it on and hold it down for 30 seconds...thing will never come off. I assume the same in the water but I would tether it regardless just in case. Oh yeah, if you actually want to take it off just heat it up again.
  15. GoPro

I got the wasabi, something like that, batteries of amazon. They work great and are cheap, plus they come with a charger and the gopro brand batteries fit in it as well. Probably a stupid question dark, but did you heat up the adhesive before you stuck it on? I have seen a ton of people who just stick on the mounts without heating them up first....don't work very well that way. Heat them up, stick them on, and their bomb proof. My buddy has the chest mount and thinks it's the best one he has, and dude has pretty much every mount. Good choice.
  16. Check out what she, wait he, uhmmm....this person can do with a dock line. http://screen.yahoo.com/blogs/screen-blog/crazy-good-dock-roping-skills-013201950.html?vp=1 I know half you knuckleheads will be out on the dock until midnight trying to get this right. Don't forget your dayglo green "dockmaster" shirt.
  17. The time and experiences are priceless and I love time on the boat...I just wish I had more of it. Great post Dura.
  18. I use this as well, it isn't appealing to the eye but does a good job of holding the tears together to keep them from spreading. Pro tip, cut the film in cirlcles to keep it from peeling up on the edges and it also looks slightly better than some random rectangular shape. I use it strictly to stop the bleeding (tearing).
  19. The servo motor? Has the black knob on it...yeah you should probably just buy a new one, call PP and they'll send you one right out.....for like $185, something like that.
  20. Hey guys, need some help diagnosing an issue I ran into at the river this past weekend. Long story short I am getting the two beeps every minute warning. What’s weird is I’m now getting them immediately after I start the engine. The Mercruiser manual suggests this warning is for excessive transmission fluid temperatures. I went to the river this past weekend starting on Thursday. Here’s kind of what went down. 1) Thursday – Launched boat. Winds were really bad so basically just drove the boat about a mile up river to the house we rented. No warning beeps, etc. All fluid levels good. Temp, oil pressure, etc. all good. 2) Friday – Drove the boat about a mile to a good spot to board. Pulled a couple riders. Got two beeps, minute later another two beeps, then nothing….might have been 3, basically by the time I started worrying about it, it stopped. Pulled more riders, no problems. Drove back to house, still no issues. Temps, pressure, etc. all good. 3) Saturday – Drove about two miles up river to a better spot. Pulled riders for in excess of two or three hours. No problems. Back to the house. Ate lunch, got in the boat and drove to the sand bar…after about 5 minutes I started getting the beeps, two every minute. Was close to sandbar so got there, anchored, and checked everything including manuals reference to beeps which stated that the warning meant the transmission fluid was overheating. Transmission fluid didn’t seem hot at all and levels were good as was everything else. Stayed at sandbar for a couple hours and started the boat up to leave. Two beeps every minute, checked everything…no issues. Drove the boat back to the house, drove great…temp, pressure, etc. all good. 4) Sunday – had to drive back down to launch to trailer boat. Immediately got the two beeps at start up, continued every two minutes. Again, everything seemed fine. Temps, levels, pressure…all good. Had to get it down to the launch so drove it about 20 mph for a mile. Drove great, all readings good…still had the two beeps until I put the boat on trailer. Checked again and nothing was hot, levels were good, etc. Did some research and while the manual says the two beeps are for excessive transmission fluid temperatures it sounds like the two beeps can mean a multitude of things….so I’m lost. I’m really hoping it’s just a bad sensor or something but I have no idea. Any ideas, suggestions, etc. Need help figuring this out because even if nothing is wrong I can’t drive the boat around in good conscience until the warnings stop….plus the beeps are annoying as heck. Thanks in advance.

  22. 2013 Laughlin River Rigatta

You surf on that river you're likely to lose your prop, rudder, etc. Above the damn is all good. I love Laughlin but haven't been in years. They do something similiar to that in Parker but I've never been. Looks fun, will have to put it on the bucket list.
  23. I agree with Troy, I did mine and it was pretty simple. Instructions are easy to follow.
  24. I have one of these, works good and you don't have to plug it in but you do have to recharge it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-Rechargeable-Air-Pump/9870597 I don't remember paying that much for it though. Anyway, not a bad option but something that plugs in might be better for the boat.
  25. Contact shell or gloria, they'll have them. Lost mine, from an older boat, and they knew exactly whay I needed and sent it out promptly. SBuchner@finelineind.com (hopefully I'm not out of line putting that up here)
