  1. BTW, flushpro worked 1 season and died (came apart at the point where it seals in the middle). Replaced with ~$30 worth of plumbing...no issues now.
  2. same issue here, fix worked perfectly. i used a thin layer of silicone grease after getting it unstuck instead of lithium grease. Also used a bit of silicone grease on the area where the blade twists back and forth freely. Now it pivots much more freely. Can't thank you enough. Thought i was going to have to try and get Switchblade to warranty the ram. whew.
  3. Unfortunately my "grand" idea of the longer plate didn't quite do what i wanted. While it cleaned it up a bit, it also muted the wave quite a bit. I converted to a fixed plate that is the same width as the flat part of the hull at the back. It extends approx 2" past the transom. I have a switchblade now and love it. The wave is fairly clean and huge. Thinking about a rightsurf next year, but not sure yet.
  4. Rock Chip Protection

i too have a set of rock tamers on my dodge and haven't seen any rock damage to my hull. I've pulled it 5+ hours many times. Plus they look redneck 'formal' on your rig. You might make sure and get the ones that have the stainless accent piece though...not sure, but you might have potential rust issues with the painted ones, where they get completely submerged each time you launch/load.
  5. I've got a 2008 avy that i installed a SB on this year. absolutely love it for both surfing and wakeboarding, however i got a wild idea and put on an extended wake plate (runs all the way to the blade). fun idea, and cool looking with a ski fin attached, but seems to mute the wave w/out cutting down on the spray on the goofy side (which is what i was hoping for). replacing the plate with one that extends about 2" from the transom today. we'll see. BTW, the regular side surf wave weighted up is UNREAL. Seriously considering going to right surf v-drive to get some of that action on the dark side.
  6. i went the flushpro route too on my 2008 Avy. I like the idea, although it does make a funny whirring noise when running out of the water. i kind of like the "T" fitting and valve idea better.
  7. I built an extended trim tab and fin for the goofy side. See pics. Hoping to try it out this weekend on Deer Creek. I will be drilling the fin out as well as I did a quick test run the other day and it did chatter quite a bit turning. Too shallow and no weight in the boat the first time out to test the surf wake, but it did make the starboard wakeboard wake immaculate! Anyway, thanks for all the tips. I'll report back how the surf wave is.
  8. thanks. where did you order the custom avy sack from? is it better than just getting the jumbo sack (1,100) from Fly High?
  9. just missed the fact that you already posted your weighting, apologies.
  10. Gotta love that wave, how are you weighting your avy (i've got a 2008 C4)? do you have a switchblade? i appreciate your advice on the plate size and the interchangeability idea. Man i miss northern Idaho lakes (guessing that's pend orielle). I grew up in Spokane. weighting mine as: Starboard: 750+ fligh high (sometimes about 350 in the port side, but have mixed thoughts on that) Surf side swim deck: 150 surf side under seat bench: 400 either a 250 in the front surfside or a couple of bodies
  11. excellent, thanks. I think i'll go the welded route.
  12. thanks h20king. looks like you're using the same wake plate as mine. after posting this i made a run down to M&M watersports here in Utah and i might just try the fin idea (then the switchblade) after talking to them. The guys there thought extending the plate too much would dampen the wave when surfing anyway. Would love the measurement anyway. One last thing, the mounts for the wake plate that you have on the switchblade mount, did you braze it to the front of the plate or use a bolt through from the back? I have heard that keeping the wake plate on with the SB is the thing to do. thanks. Interesting about the turned down plate at the back. i've only ever seen them turned up.
  13. I've got a 2008 Avy and want to modify the wake plate (manual adjust one that comes stock) to be longer and possibly add a fin to the starboard side (goofy-footer). I'm wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on how long is too long and if I do extend it, does the fin go all the way to the back end of the plate or somewhere inbetween? Was thinking about going 13-14" from the transom (15-16" total plate length taking in to account the mounting area). any help appreciated. Also, was hoping to add a switchblade at some point this year and wondered how that might affect both the extension idea and the fin.
  14. falcon v switchblade install

I used to live in the portland area (forest grove)...i'm betting that's hagg lake?
  15. falcon v switchblade install

Awesome, thanks for the info. do you like the toggle setup with the faria gauge compared to the quicklaunch setup with the lights that is on the newest edition?
