  1. Hi, I just bought a 2001 Eclipse and I'm loving it. There are a couple things I need to fix and wanted to get any feedback I could from the community. Firstly, the speedo is seeming to have trouble. My boat has two speedometers and only one works, the one that works is significantly off. Where do you recommend starting on troubleshooting the paddlewheel? The second thing, is there are some gauges that are loose. Is that an easy repair from the under side of the dash? And where is a good place to buy replacements?
  2. Hello fellow Centurions. I have been trying to do some research on trying to find out what cable is in my Eclipse so that I can replace it. Does anyone have an eclipse that may be better be able to tell me what the cable is. Recently got the boat out on the water after winter hibernation and the steering was TERRIBLE. I know it's already tough being a direct drive, but this was far worse than usual. I'm sure the cable has never been changed since the boat's inception so I figured now would be a good time to take the rudder down, grease it, check all the seals, and throw in a new cable for the summer. I cannot find the anywhere online that says what could be in there, and figured I would ask here first as the boat is in a slip about 45 minutes away from me to go check. Thanks guys!
  3. I have a 2002 Centurion Eclipse, boating season has arrived and I am getting the boat detailed, waxed, etc. I have the raised decals and one side is starting to peal, so I figured I should peal them completely off so it's ready for detail and can get all the oxidation off before putting new decals on. Here is the issue, I cannot seem to find this particular decal anywhere!! And even Centurion themselves say they don't have them anymore, nor could I order direct from them even if they did. I can find the "centurion" raised decal all day long but I cannot find it with the helmet that is raised or even a separate helmet decal so I can duplicate what is currently on now. Does anyone know where this may be, or can someone make them, or even at least the helmet? Thanks! Will not let me load a picture.
  4. Hi Everybody, I'm new to the forum here and I'm hoping you might have some input that could help me with my boat shopping. I was on the verge of buying an 80's closed bow ski boat when the wife popped in and said that if we get a boat it has to be a walk thru open bow. Not just open bow, but a walk thru open bow. So now I'm on the hunt. I'm looking for a boat that is first and foremost a walk thru open bow, but on my end, I want the best slalom boat that I can buy while still satisfying her walk thru open bow requirement. I had it narrowed down to a 93-97 malibu echelon LX or a 92-95 Mastercraft prostar 205. Then I'm browsing ads and seeing a bunch of centurions for sale with walk thru open bows and I'm wondering to myself how good the slalom wake is. The trouble I'm having is in finding any information on the old centurions like magazine reviews, articles, or even a brochure. Do any of you know where I can get information on the old 90's centurions? Otherwise, do any of you know what centurion open bow is the best for slalom, and if it is better than or the same as the two boats mentioned above? below are the links to 3 boats that are catching my eye right now. Thanks for any input you might have. 5. So I'm having some issues getting my 2000 Eclipse to crank over and start. I think it may be the NSS since I'm not losing power across the dash and the fuel pump and solenoid make their typical sounds. The problem is that the engine won't kick over when it's in neutral, but when I jiggle the throttle controls it tries to crank before, what seems like, the electrical contact is broken during the jiggling action. I assume it's the NSS or alignment issues with my shift and throttle cables. My questions are... On a 2000 Eclipse, is the NSS located behind the throttle/shifter control set or at the trans? How do I test to verify the NSS is the problem? What is the best way to make certain the throttle and shift cables are adjusted correctly? I have to assume that I'm dealing with original cables and switches, so I fully expect them to be worn and dying. I'm very mechanical and confident I can fix the problems if I have a little background before jumping in... Thanks for any help you guys may be able to lend me.
  6. We just purchased a 2001 Eclipse V drive with air warrior package. So, now that I've gotten into the inside of the boat and found some things out, I really want to add some weight to the ridiculous 250 lb center ballast tank. I've been reading a lot of posts on here and other sites, checked out wavemakers and I'm trying to figure out the best and simplest system that I can convert my current set up to. Currently it just has the stock, center hard tank = 25 lbs, which to be honest makes little to zero difference in the wake size. There are 2 stock Atwater 750A pumps with 1" tubing, one for filling and one for draining. If anyone is familiar with these boats and this stock set up and has already added a set up, please direct me in the right direction. Here is what direction I am currently headed in: Leave the stock 250# hard tank - I'm thinking of filling it, capping it off and leaving it that way - disconnect the pump and just forget about it. Add 2 400 lb sacks in the back, one on each side of the V-drive in the lockers. Add 650 lb sack in the front bow. Run them with 2 pumps. Not sure if I should change the pumps, add pumps or? Connect it all with the same intake that's already there, and the same venting set and everything. This will give me 1700 lbs total. I can always add another 500 lb sac on the floor, drivers side for surfing. I surf goofy footed. Im okay with them filling in 15-20 minutes, but would like it to be faster if its not going to cost me too much. Any ideas? Anyone done this already with this boat? It already has the switch on the dash and the manual open/close valve mounted just under the walk thru.
