  1. Ok. Got my new sv233. Wish I would not have got the ramfill, but its to late for that. Love the boat. Seems I need about 500#s more weight for a good surf (would have had that if I didnt get ramfill) the dealer and the rep pushed it so hard I guess I fell in. What is the biggest bag I can fit in my rear lockers over the ramfill. My dealer says a 450 will fit, but my boat is the first ram he has sold and he really doesnt seem to know alot about these boats. I think I can go bigger. Does anyone know. We are dying to get it dialed in.
  2. Short and sweet, 2007 Avy, #1800 Port, #1800 Starboard. I want to fill one side in <5 minutes, I want to swap the water to the other side in <5 minutes, and I want to drain in <5 minutes. I came up with two manifolds, one on each side of the engine bay, the pumps mounted just in front of the engine above the vdrive between the manifolds: Pumps are Ultras, I calculate that each pump will move about 100lbs a minute, so 400lbs per minute will be moved. Each pump will have it's own switch so that it is not mandatory to run all 4 at the same time, plus I'll divide the manifolds with ball valves so that pumps can be segregated to move water in different locations and directiions. Each inlet will have a ball valve so any combination of source to destination is possible. Any thoughts on this? Is anyone already getting the fill/transfer/drain times I want to achieve with another set up?
  3. Hey Guys, new to the forum and been learning so much. Keep up the awesome posts !!! Just bought a 2011 elite V - Enzo's we're out of range this time around and here's the upgrade plan for this spring: - 750lbs upgrades in rear lockers - 650 lbs integrated bow - 400 lbs roller (to place port or starboard), we'll ride light, 4/5 people, 2 kids - factory Center 250lbs Boat comes with Bennett tab but I'm reading about A plates (you guessed it, I'm on the dark side...) worth it? What am I missing? (Besides moving the lake we're on 2000 miles south...) Any advice appreciated. Cheers.
  4. So I have spent the majority of the day reading through just about every post on ballast upgrades and decided to tackle a first draft of some plans to upgrade my factory ballast for surfing. The boat is a 2007 Avalanche with the walk-through transom and I plan to only surf the port side but will also still wakeboard. It is a Storm Series, and has the hard Port and Center, and bag under the walk-through. There is one fill pump that goes to 3 diverter valves in the back for independant control, and each ballast has an independant drain pump. My goal was to maximize the existing factory system while upgrading and adding to it using all of the information that I've read through on this site and some of the other external blogs about Avalanche ballast upgrades. The attached is what I think I would start out with to upgrade the pre-piped factory system. Once I get to surfing and see what this shapes up to be, some of the other ideas I would encorporate would be additional sacs on the seats, brick on the platform, etc. Anyone care to offer feedback or thoughts on this? Seems inline with the general consensus and what folks have recommended. 2007 Avy Ballast Upgrade Design.pdf
  5. So I have two questions: 1) I've been having periodic priming problems with my two Johnson Ultras. They each have their own hole , periodically one of them won't prime. I have clear hoses and I can see the water come halfway up, then drop back down over and over again. I have a slight arc in the intake hose and if I try to time the up with dipping down the hose and quickly pulling it up, I can sometimes get the pump to prime. This happens to both pumps, but never at the same time, so far. A while back I noticed that one of my pumps that had a straight, no arc, line from the intake had problems priming, but the one with the arc didn't. So I recut hose and put arcs in both. Now I'm wondering if that was just a fluke and they should both be as straight as possible. I don't use these reversible, they only intake. So there is nothing but hose between the intake and the pump. Has anyone else had this problem? 2) In conjunction with the above, I got the idea to use the old stock waterpuppy for topside ballast bags. I'm in no mood for another hole in the hull for it's own dedicated line, really because I don't even know where I'd drill it at this point. Can I simply "Y" one of my intakes (http://www.wakemakers.com/hose-barb-wye.html) and have one hose to an Ultra and another to the waterpuppy? I run 1" hose throughout and thought I read somewhere that a single intake can support two pumps. If I do this, will there be any issues with priming for either pump? For the waterpuppy, I'm going to use it reversible, so I'll have a tee with a check valve between the "Y" at the intake and the pump. I also bought this: http://www.wakemakers.com/bosworth-y-valve.html so that I can route the two ultras into this line for faster filling when we're just swapping top side ballast. Can a 1" hose support three pumps, two ultras and a puppy? Does anyone have a similar setup? Pictures if you do please.
  6. I know, I know, I tried the search function and didn't really find the answer I needed. Its not there or I am lazy and didn't dig deep enough... Putting in 4 Johnson reversible pumps for my ballast this year. I am dedicating one to each sac on my Enzo. 1100#s in the lockers and 580#s under each seat. My boat has two thru hull intakes already. I believe they are 3/4" (boat is 1.5hrs away right now)... I want the pumps to be able to work as fast as possible. So here are the Qs: 1. Will 1" intakes be faster? 2. If I install two new 1" thru hull intakes - 1 for each 1100 pump and use the two existing 3/4"s for the 580s, will that be good enough (because if the 3/4"s do restrict flow significantly, the 1100s on 1" will still take longer) 3. If I was to go with four 1" - is there a way to drill out the existing 3/4" to 1" without ripping an chipping the crap out of the fiberglass (because I mean, have you ever tried re-hole sawing an already hole sawed hole??? Without that center drill bit having a guide hole to be in - usually bad news). The only thing I can think of right now is maybe siliconing a piece of wood to the hull with the 1" hole in it and that guides the hole saw instead of the center drill bit doing its job. As well, I want to do a simple install so I am going with dedicated Johnsons to each sac. Reverse to empty back thru the intake thru hulls. Checked valved 3/4" vent lines going to the opposite sides. I am goofy - most of my crew is not...so there will be switch back and forth. Any other suggestions of how to make my fill / empty times faster without going to a bunch of crossover manifolds and sprinkler valves (do not want sprinkler vales - would like everything on switches). Cheers to your answers and idears...
  7. We just installed 750# sacs in our 06' Air Warrior and are really excited about this season's surfing (which will be our first). I am having trouble with leakage out of the drain port. We cross vented the sacs based on what we learned from all of you guys (this community ROCKS), but we can't figure out why we have problems with the sacs essentially slow draining. On Saturday, I just got in the rhythm of filling every so often to keep it full, but that can't be my long term solution. The drain pump is the original aerator pump in case that is part of my trouble. Any suggestions?
  8. Lets see those WAVES regular goofy ? both sides name your boat and weight!!! SURFS UP 2011 ENZO SV230 3000+lbs or somethin like that
  9. I have a Straight line Launch pad fat sack pump that needs work. The motor and housing is fine, the piece that the hose attaches to and/or that attaches to the sack Is cracked. I am trying to locate just that housing, not the hose or motor. Does anyone have any ideas? Or maybe a cheap replacement part or pump? I cant find the company on line?
  10. ok i got 06 lightning c4, we get a good wave behind her. seems to turn heads with people who dont ride or own centurions, quite nicely an get alot of questions an complements. but am looking for more as we all do. right now im running a deflector fin on the port side, a 750lb sac in the port engine compartment(another n the starboard for the goofy wave, a 540lb sac on the rear seat, stock center ballast with a 900lb sac on the floor. an either two 300lb sacs or a 540lb sac up front, takes some time to set up but once filled is big tall long, hard wave at 13-14mph, taller at 12- 13 but shorter an softer. so any ideas floating round rounf to add to this set up ? looking to make the wave hard, tall, an long at 14.5mhp is the goal. thxs ! have photos of the wave just waiting on permision to to post them. some pics can be veiwed at getradrevelstoke.com
  11. Does anyone know what the weights are for the Factory installed Ballast for the: Plug and Play rear surf ballast, centurion pro-ballast (dual mid side bags), and Enzo bow ballast system? Thanks
  12. What is the best way to weight then Enzo sv 240? I have an Enzo sac and I have around 500 lbs of pop bags that I put under the seat in front of the Enzo sac and in the front storage under dash. I also put 200lbs in the bow. For my other boats I used the 60/40 rule, but someone told me that I didn't need to weight the front with the Enzo. I have been happy with my wave, but it seems like it should be longer. I surf at 12.2.
  13. Does anybody know about the prewire for the center sac?? Ive found 1 plug bye the rear port that reads center valve ,yellow and black, and the same connector that's used for the pump connections and I've checked behind the toggle switches and found the same wire attached to a black box that all the other toggles are hooked to, just hanging there ready to put a toggle on. Is there another center valve wire that I can't find for the center sac?? I assume it's fill and drain but I can only find one. There's 2 yellow and black wires going into the black toggle box that's hanging Please help trying to avoid adding more wire if I don't have to Thanks
  14. Just looking for help on options for upgrading my ballast system 2011 Enzo sv230. Looking for that perfect surf wave. Pics/diagrams would be awesome.
  15. So I have been looking around and it seems like if surfing is the primary goal, it is best to replace whatever factory ballast there is with large sacs. In my case I think I'll throw in an enzo sac in the port side and keep the factory ballast on the starboard or throw in a small 400lbs sac. The boat I'm looking at has just the two factory midship tanks (no 400lbs bow tank). I'm pretty sure that setup will deliver a good wake, but I've been looking around for some time and many people stress the addition of bow ballast to lengthen the pocket. The main questions I have are: 1) Is bow ballast useful in creating a nice surf wake behind an enzo sv230? 2) If so, how easy (and expensive) would it be to plumb a sac where the factory one would have been? 3) I'm not very useful at mechanics; could I get a dealer to plumb them in and install larger pumps at a reasonable price?
  16. I'm looking into picking myself up a 2007/08 enzo sv230 for the summer. I have fallen in love with wakesurfing over the past couple years and have narrowed down my boat selection. I've been looking into a 2007 that is completely stock I'm pretty sure. To get this boat kicking up a beautiful wave I'm just wondering what modifications I should make. Is it possible to add the two rear factory tanks and bow ballast? Would it be better to just add Enzo sacs in the rear lockers? Also if anyone has any pricing advice and what would be a good deal for this boat please let me know! Cheers!
  17. here is a pdf i came up with regarding a possible ballast install to do this spring. would like to get everything planned out before i get a green light or buy anything. current set up... jabsco ballast puppy to hard center tank, drained by a factory drain pump 400s in each locker filled/drained by a tsunami the hopefully new setup... BALLAST_INSTALL.pdf my only concerns are about the rule 1100 pump being able to prime, as well as the t800s for the lockers. thanks in advance
  18. I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find it, so my apologies if it's a repeat of a recent post. 08 Avy; I have been using the factory hard tank with an old school fat boy sac (I think 450lbs or so) on top. I decided to pull my hard tank and replace with a bigger sac. Will a 750 sac fill the port locker completely? I'm pretty sure a full 1100 won't even fit with the locker hatch closed, but if I fill it as much as I can, will that blow my dividers out? Is it going to ride hard against those POS sprinkler valves back there and potentially cause damage? Even if I can get only 900-950lbs in the 1100lb sac without causing any damage to my dividers or sprinkler valves, it's worth the extra $$ to go bigger than the 750. I'll use the old fat boy sac on or under the port bench seat. Thanks for any advice.
  19. Does anyone know the p/n or model number for the pump that empties the factory center ballast hard tank on a 2008 Centurion Avalanche? The most I can see on it is that it says Mayfair Marine 1000 on it. I can't find a model number or part number on it unless I remove all my other ballast pumps and get them out of the way. I've found several different models of Mayfair pumps that say 1000 gpm on them. I think it is this one... http://www.wholesalemarine.com/pc/MAY-32102/99990083/Mayfair+Pumps/Mayfair+Cartridge+Bilge+Pump+1000GPH.html
  20. I recently purchased a 2011 Avalanche C4 that has factory ballast installed in the mid section (250lb) and under the port (250lb) and starboard (250lb) seats as well. All are individually controlled with switches on the dash, very convienient and easy to fill and empty. I have a Johnson ultra pump that feeds a manifold with three sprinkler valves, controlled by the three switches on the dash. I bought three Fly High sacs, one for the port side locker (1100lb), one for behind the observer seat (400lb) and an integrated bow sac (250lb). I currently use a Tsunami pump to fill/empty the new sacs..............you guys know where I'm going with this. Pain in the tush to fill and empty, have to move people and gear to get the bags filled and emptied. We plan on wakesurfing on the port side. I want to plumb my own system for the three new sacs that I have. My brother and I are pretty handy and I have read all the posts on all the sites about installing this type of system. Looks pretty managable, but I do have a few questions that are specific to my build. My initial thought was to build the exact same system I have now and use it for the three new sacs. In other words, buy another Johnson ultra pump, build another manifold, install three additional sprinkler valves, plumb fill lines and plumb vent lines to newly drilled thru hull vent holes. All would be controlled by three newly installed switches on the dash. Here are my questions: Can I tee off the existing thru hull intake? Will the exisiting thru hull intake support 2 Johnson ulta pumps? How do I get the sacs to drain threw the thru hull ports as opposed to the pump pulling it back out through the intake? I was going to order most of my supplies from wakemakers.com, any other suggestions? Given my current setup, are there any recommendations on how I should build this out? I would like any recommendations on how I can build this out so it is as seamless and integrated as possible. I know I can take this in and have someone design and install this system fairly easily, but after dropping a couple hundred dollars on the boat......LOL.....I wanted to save a little money. I was going to bring the boat home this Thursday so we could work on it Friday afternoon and all weekend long. Is three days enough for a couple first timers to get all of this accomplished? Thanks in advance for your feedback and recommendations, I appreciate any specific detail you can provide. Best, Dan
  21. Mike Murphy co-inventor of the Knee Board and Sit Down Hydrofoil as well as the inventor or the PureVert Wake System currently used in Centurion Boats. Has a new invention that might revolutionize inboard boat ballast systems. Check out the video below a little long but, worth the watch.
  22. I know this is a very broad question, but I'm thinking of pulling the lame 360lb bag on the port and upping it to 1100... we have the space. We're in a 1998 Elite and both port and starboard bags are 350 with the left locker having probably a 400 to 450 pup. Our wake is not what you'd call "competitive" but we're trying to get it as large as possible with what we have. I saw how wiggles cleaned up his wake on his old 98 with a ski fin attached to the wake plate... which seems like a super cheap mod. but we're shooting for larger volume, so I guess I'll do the math and see what the boat can handle, but based on the size of the locker we're going to up that port side, just can't decide on how "big". I put 160lbs of lead weights in the rear port and it helps it get into the "lean" but it's far from hitting the rub bar. Photo is me testing for leaks on the 350 bag, which is pathetically undersized for the locker.
  23. Hi everyone. I have a 2010 240SV Enzo, and I’m trying to figure out the best sized Enzo sac for that model year. I have the standard size W712 sac (http://www.inlandsurfer.com/shop/Details.asp?ProdID=124&category=7) , but it doesn’t fill the back compartment. Does anyone have a custom Enzo sac that fills the back compartment and do you recall the dimensions? Thanks. Don
  24. I need some tips and advice on how to wieght my boat and wakesurfing. I have a 07 Centurion Avy C4 with stock ballast and trim tab.The ballast center tank holds 225 pounds , and the two rear tanks that hold 209 each. I have a Ronix Cortez wakesurfer i have all three fins in. I fill the center tank and the port side tank and set the trim tab on about 75% I have perfect pass set on 10.7 I mostly wakeboard but i have started surfing a little bit and really enjoy it. My problem is i am having a hard time staying in the wave. I have tried watching youtube videos, but still am having a hard time. I know the board is probably not the best but i think that i should be able to ride without using the rope. Do i need more wieght? Should i add it in the bow? Port side? Along the back seat? Does the Trim tab need to be adjusted? The wave doesnt seem long enough, and it doesnt feel like it is giving me enough push. Also when i do start riding without the rope i sometimes find myself like right up on the back of the boat, this is why i think my wave is not long enough. I try to put the brakes on, but then i usually find myself falling out of the wave. Any advice on what i am doing wrong would be appreciated. I also would like to hear what everyone thinks about the ballast set up. One more thing. I do not have enough guts to cut a hole in the hull of my boat so i was thinking about going with the Tsunami pump for any additional bags. Thanks
  25. does anyone know where you can get some lead? i have seen people put it on their boats, but i dont know where to find it. thanks, PayCheck
