  1. So I am looking at purchasing my first boat to wakesurf on. Used to wake board off the back of an older Mariah Shabbah 212. I found a 2005 centurion lightning, looks like it’s a c4 from the seating I believe ? From what I read. Anyone familiar with this boat ? Pros and cons ? Any one had any luck wake surfing off the back? https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2005-ski-centurion-lightning-8864323/ look forward to hearing some feed back!
  2. Hi All, I have a 2002 Typhoon Storm Series 1, i think. Not sure what the difference between the storm series' were. I have a center factory ballast, trim tab, and no perfect pass. The boat has a walk-through from the transom on the starboard side. I currently have a 1000lb fat sac in the port side rear locker but no other bags. I'm thinking of also using a wake shaper too. Does anyone have any experience with a similar set up?

  5. Hello all, Truly a newbie here. I've maybe been on a power boat a dozen times in my life but my wife just told me that she'd like to get a boat. Please forgive my lack of understanding of boats in general as I ask my questions here. Also, I'm about to write a novel here. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read the whole book. Very much appreciate any help you all have for me. I've gotten some info from a few of my friends who are boat owners. They each have different thoughts but there are a couple things that have been consistent in what they've told me. I wanted to lay out my situation and thoughts here and get some advice and guidance from the community. First, my buddies have all told me to get a surf boat. They've each independently said that it's the best family experience and will be what my kids will most likely enjoy the most. Having said that, they have also said that I also want a boat that we could ski or wakeboard behind as well. My personal expectation is that we'll primarily surf and pull a tube. I dont know for sure but that is what I'm targeting for the boat. I was also told that a better boat that creates a better wake is not just for expert level surfers but that it is maybe even more important for beginners as it is much easier to get up and then to learn on. So I started checking out surf boats... I was shocked (like, go in the other room and check my drawers shocked), at the cost of a good surfing boat!! I'd hoped to get into this at about 30K but wanted to make sure that I was basing my price point on reality rather than just a number I came up with. 3 of my friends own relatively new boats but one of them owns a 2002 so I called him asking how to do this on a budget. He told me that it's doable but there are some big compromises to make it work. He said that his next boat will be different and, because his family is so in to it, he will sacrifice to spend some money for an upgrade in the next few years. I asked each of them then, keeping in mind that I'm not made of money and would like to do this in the most intelligently conservative way possible, what year I should set as maybe the oldest boat I should consider. They each gave me a different, but similar year ranging from 2011 to 2015. All of them consistently said that it can be done with earlier boats but that the current surf technology was developed in one of those years. They also said that buying a good boat from those years would really get me the technology that is being built into today's boats. It keeps getting refined but hasn't really changed since then. We have 3 kids 15 and under. We live in Utah so it will be all lake and reservoir boating. May include both big and small lakes. So, after that big intro.... I'll ask some specific questions and lay out my considerations but I also ask for any general info that anyone may think I need or would be helpful. All of my questions ultimately roll up to one single question, "What boats should I look at to be as budget minded as possible (60k or less for sure) but get the a good experience for my family, and in a boat that I'm not going to want to upgrade from in the next several years".... My thoughts and questions... 1. I had originally been interested in an Avalanche based on online comments that it makes a great wake, but I dont want to have to add weights and ballast manually and would prefer not to have to add any wake creating devices by hand to the boat to get a good wake. I'd like the surfability to be as automated as possible. When I go boating I want to boat, not manage the boat... I assume that this is why my friends told me to go with a newer boat from a minimum years I listed. (Any consensus on an oldest year to consider?) 2. I dont necessarily want high luxury but I do value good build quality and reliability. I dont want popping seams, stitching coming apart, or electronics issues being a big part of my boating experience. I dont know whether to look at the main brands or one of the value focused brands. Specific to centurian I wonder about the difference between Centurian and Supreme. Is the build quality and surf system just as good but the boat just isnt as nice and luxurious? Or is there a better build quality and usability in the upper lines? For example, would I be better served buying a 2012 Enzo or a 2015 Supreme? I know this is a Centurion forum, but similarly, should I consider Moomba, Axxis, even Heyday instead of older Mailbu/Centurian/MC/Nautica/Tige? 3. In reading about wake quality I've developed an personal perception of wake quality in the different brands. I want to validate correct my view. Please correct or comment on the following; Super Nautique - I've been told this is the gold standard. The wake is huge and long but it is also steep so it really is only the gold standard for expert surfers. For other surfers the gold standard is maybe Tige or Centurion??? Centurian/Supreme - hull shape makes a great wake with less ballast than other brands. Wake great quality and is easy to surf. Is there a difference in wake quality between the two? Malibu/Axis - seem like, at least in the older years, they seemed to be more focused on wakeboarding. Are they as good as the centurion lines now for surfing? Value? Tige - Have read that, similar to Centurion, they have a deep hull design that makes a great wake. Have heard that it is a much better wake on the goofy side than the Centurion. Mastercraft - thoughts? Is the X series as good for surfing as others mentioned here? Is the NXT a good option? Moomba - seems like a great value and I've read great things about the surfability. Any other concerns or considerations? Heyday - Great value. Seems to be a newer and not mainstream brand but seems to rate well on wake. The places I've read say that the wake isnt as good as the top boats though.. anyone have any experience? Is the layout od the boat a good place for the family to hang out? One of my friends almost bought one of these. Resale value? Yamaha - my wife likes these but they dont really seem to be made for surfing. Correct? I haven't really been considering these for that reason. Are all of these boats usable for wakeboarding and skiing or do some compromise those aspects more than others? Lastly, Any advice on buying? Best time to buy? How to get the best deal? As I look at listings for boats, it seems that the cost to buy one of the value brands vs the main brands seems to converge on the 2012 to 2015 years.it seems like there may only be a 10 grand and 1 model year difference to buy a centurian vs a supreme for example. Am I seeing that wrong? Thoughts on this? Again, Thanks again for any help. Happy boating all!
  6. Hey guys, I am fairly new to wake surfing, but have been wakeboarding my whole life. Just bought an 04 enzo sv230 and trying to dial in my surf wave. Looking to buy a new surf board to help progress my skills. I feel my current board is too big. I am 6 foot and 175-180lbs. Currently riding a hyperlite broadcast 5'4". Leaning towards a hybrid so I can learn some spins, but also airs. Any suggestions on the best board and board size for myself for the money would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  7. Guys thinking of upgrading my ballast. I have an 04 Enzo sv230 Currently running factory mid ship ballast which totals about 400lbs. I’m running a 540 in each rear locker and a plug and play 350 in the bow and one surf side. Thoughts on what I should upgrade to? Looking to get a longer wave with a little more push. Tossed around the idea of 2 Enzo sacks but they’re so expensive. If anyone has some they’d like to sell and ship, I can Venmo!? Thanks!
  8. I'm needing some help setting up my DD T5 comp for wakesurfing. I currently have (2) 750LB fat sacs, and (1) 370lb fat sac. i have a mission wakeshaper. I normally have about 4 people of around 400 lbs in the boat as well. Can anyone give me anymore tips on placement of weight or set ups to help me get a surfable wave without having to use the rope? I cannot find enough push to throw the rope inside the boat. This is NEW to me and i figure someone on here knows what they are doing to make this work. thanks!!
  9. Hi guys. My boat is an 06 avalanche with walk through . I believe it’s storm series 1 package. Has 1 center rank with fill. I fill fat sack bags in rear locker, under walk through and on top to surf. I currently use a tsunami pump to fill them by hand. I see in the fuse box it is wired up for starboard and port side and where the switches are the are wired just need the toggle switch. Is there a way I can plumb in the pumps to fill my sacks and have it like my center tank where it fills and when it gets full it spits the water out the side of the boat. Thanks I have pictures but can’t figure out how to load them. It says I can’t load more then 204.8kb
  10. We have had a long standing relationship with Mike Walker of the Walker Project. Many of his boards have passed under our feet over the years. Many Crew members that have ridden with us or been to a past CCC Weekend have seen or ridden the original Double Fish, pictured below. After years of being passed around and ridden hard it is time for her to retire. When we thought about having the Double Fish II made the first person that came to mind was Mike Walker since some of the features of this board were inspired by him back in the day. Talking with Mike brought out the idea of sharing the entire board build from beginning to the end with the community members of the Crew. The project started with us providing Mike with the original design drawing of the Double Fish we made back in 2009. For those that have not had a chance to ride the Double Fish. With the fish tail the rails run the full length of the board maximizing the rail length. The tail also causes the rails to be pushed out further than most boards due to the width making it super fast down the line. The tail design removes some of the surface area behind the fins compared to a pin tail, this gives the board more bite and drive keeping the tail under control when making hard turns on edge. The tail has a slight rocker giving it more speed and stability when being ridden revert. The hard edge of the rail starts at the back of the board blending into a softer edge that starts just behind the nose rocker, giving the board a rolled nose area for easy slashing without cutting into the face of the wave. The nose or second tail was added to the original design just to be different since everyone at the time had a blunt or diamond nose plus it compliments the board shape. We found out after the fact the nose shape gives the rider several subtle advantages. The board seems more stable when being ridden revert and offers more stability when doing 360's. The wider nose keeps the board from pearling as easy and the split nose has a tendency to let water come under and around the leading edge nose and over the outside area of the nose making it much easier to recover from pearling the board. Overall this has been one of our favorite shapes going on eight years, so much so we are having a new one built for the 2017 season. For those of you that have ridden the Double Fish and offered, begged and pleaded to buy it, this is your chance. Mike will build a limited edition run of 15 boards that will be on a first come first served basis. Once the 14 slots, yes since one is ours making it 15 total boards are spoken for the board and shape will never be built again. More details on the boards including pricing, options, colors, etc. will be posted in the near future. More build details to come, hope everyone enjoys the build. Let us know what you think.

  12. Been riding the same wakesurf board for 8 plus years, needless to say, my go to board needed to be retired. So I recently contacted an old friend Mike Walker of the Walker Project and asked him to make a replacement for the original "Outlaw". After working out the details to begin the build this is what I recently received. Let me know what you think, can't wait to take the first hit this weekend! 14. Hey Crew, I'm working on tuning my surf wake on my '06 Elite V Air Warrior, and need some help. I'm a big dude, 6'3" 265 or so. Just purchased a Doomswell Neo 4'10" and can ride all day in the pocket now, but the problem is I can't seem to lengthen the pocket. I'm literally 2 feet behind the platform for the best drive. Setup: 2x750's in the lockers Suckgate (which I wish could go lower on the hull, but can't due the the step in the Elite V) 250 Center Ballast full Integrated bow sac (probably 300lb full) - I've played with this weight the most since it seems to create noticeable change. Often it's just me and my wife in the boat since we like to go after work during the week to enjoy the glass. I've noticed a good bit more push when I have additional folks in the boat, but unfortunately have had limited surf time under these conditions since there's always kids that want to.... you guessed it, tube. Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
  15. I just bought a used 2013 SV233 (343 PCM) with 4,200 lbs of total ballast that has 70 hours on it. Bought it from a reputable seller. All mechanical etc checked out fine. I have owned 2 Crownline I/O bowriders. The first a 18' Crownline 180 and still currently have the 2003 Crownline 208LX. Attached are pics of my current crownline and my new SV233. I bought the SV233 because I wanted a boat that can take a wave almost as good as a bowrider but will bring the best all-around experience for all the water sports (tube, ski, wakeboard and wakesurf). I am 48 and took up wakeboarding up 3 year ago and love it, but can be stressful on a 48 year old body. Recently went to FL and visited a wakesurf camp and loved it and decided to upgrade to an inboard. What are the top things you would recommend I know about my new SV233 before I go on the water? Any input would would be great from the community. Thanks in advance!

  20. Start making plans for the 19th of August 2016 This year we are moving the CCC Weekend up to Friday the 19th of August CenturionCrew members, family and friends will begin to descend on Bethy Creek Resort near the town of Riverside, Texas an hour north of Houston. For a weekend of fun on the water, full of Centurion boats and water related activities. Dates for the event were moved up this year per discussions with many of the attendees from last year. Please post on the thread if this causes issues for anyone and we can discuss. Of course the fun of an event like this is that everyone shares their boats, boards and has a blast riding and hanging out with old and new friends. The core group will arrive Friday morning to start setting up for the CCC Weekend. Everyone is welcome to check in when ever they would like and stay as long as they like. Friday - Will be the main arrival day, crew members will check in and get some riding in. That evening CCC will provide an eat and greet meal of sausage wrapped in tortillas along with chips and something sweet. Once everyone has had their fill previous year videos will be shown at the pavilion along with a group fire, giving everyone a chance to meet and put name and faces together. Saturday - Ride Ride Ride and Ride some more, a day full of boat hopping, board swapping, in general spending time and riding with crew members you usually don't get a chance to ride with. Learn some new tricks, try the wake on a different model boat, just get out there and have some fun in the Texas sun. There is a sand bar in front of the resort, the plan is to meet at the sand bar to raft up around 4pm and switch up boards, boats and riders, then head back out for a final session. Crew coming in from out of town can rest assure that they will have a boat to jump in and a board to ride behind, so there is no need to bring any boards if you are flying in for the event. After a full day of riding, dinner will be served by CCC which will consist of something really good that has yet to be decided, including something sweet. After the meal, everyone will gather in the pavilion for music, fun and door prizes. Also, if we can work all the details out, crew members will be able to take hits on the ERC (Endless Ride Cable) 2 tower cable system, boards will be provided or you can use your own. See post below for further information on the cable system which can also be ridden the entire weekend. Sunday - Morning rides depending on your travel plans, there will surely be crew members planning to ride most of the day. So anyone remaining on Sunday will still be able to see some action on the water. For those that are considering flying in from out of town, the Bethy Creek Resort is only 75 miles from IAH (George Bush Intercontinental Airport). There is a chance of talking a local crew member into a ride from the airport or grab the cheapest rental car you can find for the weekend. See post below for directions to the CCC Weekend. If you have any QUESTIONS, Please contact CrewAdmin
  21. I've been scouring this forum to find as many goofy wave video, pics and setups, and can't find that many. I figured it'd be cool to start a thread where people can show off their goofy wave and what their setup is. It could also help any newcomers or others trying to get their goofy wave setup the best they can.
  22. This is the official 2016 Centurion Boats all new Ri237 Model release thread. Teaser post will be made leading up to the reveal date of August 14th, 2015 at 2pm PST (5pm EST). The first teaser photo is below. It is coming the all new never seen Centurion Boats Ri237 model.
  23. Has anyone tried the Mission Delta on an older Ski Centurion? I would love to hear what people think.
  24. Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum, but am very familiar to boating and wakeboats. I sold my jet boat, as I've caught the wakesurfing bug, and want to get into an early 2000s Centurion. From what I can see online, there are a couple different models that Centurion made in the early 2000s: Elite-V, Air Warrior, and a few others. If anyone can help answer my questions, it'd be greatly appreciated! Is there a hull that does best for wakesurfing? The Elite-V appears to be the best route to go. How much ballast can each rear compartment hold. Whether it's an air warrior elite-v or not, I'd likely replace the tanks with soft bags to get more in. Did the Elite-V hull change a certain year? I'm really thinking a 2000 - 2002 would be great. Anything I am missing about these boats? **I tried searching and came up short on model year differences**
  25. Anyone have suggestions for wakesurf boards? I cannot find any good reviews (done by someone not trying to sell the board) and testing is extremely tough where I am. Looking for a board that fits in the hybrid category I think so we can carve, spin, air, etc. I have a couple other boards that are decent for the beginner group but all are pretty old. Are the $1000 boards worth it? I usually like to research the heck out of something before I purchase but I can't find many great places that have these reviews. I like being able to ride without having to pump the thing just to keep it going (fast board) and my water depth is 9-12 feet so the wave can wash out sometimes. Enzo sv230 with enzo sac, extra sac on seat, and people in the boat to get the rub rail in the water. Basically looking for what all of you love to ride and what to stay away from. Also, side note, anyone have a lead on the enzo surf vents that are not $400?
