  1. Thanks - I will change that. But I do not see any message in there at all about this? Am I missing something in my PM?
  2. Hey I apologize for missing this - I sold my boat last spring and check the forums only now and then - and there are no new messages in my PM box about this? Strange - PMs would send me a notification email. In any case - I had checked my transmission cooler for blockages pretty regularly, and it is one of the first/easiest things to clean out in regular maintenance. Year-in and year-out with my Enzo this issue kept coming up until I put in the overflow. It may have only fixed a symptom - but after $1k in tranny repairs and two years of fluid in my bilge - I'll take fixing the symptom so long as it cures the sludge and crap in my bilge! In any case - I'm glad to see your results - were similar to mine. Never had an issue with it again in the time I owned it.
  3. Big three of surf boat manufacturers

I have been on an every 3-4 years switch of a boat, but I usually buy a couple years old/low hours/used. I did buy my Malibu new this time though. I'm not convinced any boat of similar size is worth $20-30-50K more than another. I'd never buy a G23 over a 233 given the price difference, I personally do not see the value there. I did see the value in trying the Malibu over the 233, but the price difference when all was said and done was less than $6K for boats that were virtually identically equipped (from ballast to stereo, racks, cover, trailer, etc.). For me the Malibu was roomier, the finish out similar, perhaps slightly nicer, goofy side wake better, ease of surfing better. Centurion better regular wave, great boat. Engines were close enough, to me surf wave was close enough, and so on. Ultimately it was a hard decision and came down to that often we have limited time to surf and the ease of setting up/switching sides combined with a roomier boat won out. I looked at Tige and Mastercraft, looked at the G23s full well knowing I wouldn't spend the money. Mastercraft just didn't appeal to me value-wise, it was no easier to setup/surf than the Centurion, was more expensive and less of a wave. Tige's looked great - I demo'd Z3 twice and the wave was not good either time. I know people can get it good - but it just flat wasn't when I tried it. Malibu ended up winning out. So there is my 2-cents. Never been in a Sanger, they look awesome, been in the MB B52, not the widebody, thought it was cramped compared to Malibu, really wanted to demo a Supreme 226 which I hear has an awesome wave, didn't get the chance. Back to the initial question of this forum though - the Big 3 in terms of volume, brand recognition, perceived quality in my mind or Nautique, Mastercraft, Malibu. That doesn't mean they are the best, just the biggest.
  4. Big three of surf boat manufacturers

After selling my Enzo SV230 and buying a Malibu 23 w/surfgate and surfing it all summer here are my thoughts... * Enzo on port side was better, goofy side terrible compared to the Bu * After a summer of dialing it in the BU is very, very close - when I say dialing it in I mean getting better prop, putting lead in box permanently, dialing in speed. Goofy side is darn-near epic, port side is excellent * Convenience of not having to switch sides and wait is awesome * Finish it out is far superior to my boat, but I had a 2005, the newer boats obviously are very close * I like the layout of the Bu much better - roomier * Ride of the Centurion was smoother - more V * Really like the flat boat/vs. leaning Ultimately if I had a 233 right now I'd probably be just as happy - both great/fun boats. I'm happy with the Bu, but until I sold it I was just as happy with the Centurion. I had a Mastercraft before that - fun to try different boats every now and then. With all the new tech Centurion has who knows what I'll try a few years from now. Not having an established dealer in the area didn't help.
  5. How do you anchor your boat?

A chain will never hurt you - it can only help anchoring even on a box anchor. However, after using about every variation of anchor I could find over the past 25yrs the box anchor wins out, no chain is really necessary. I was skeptical, but it works very, very well. As does their sand spike. Anchor safe distance from shore, throw in box bow out attached to trailer loop, back towards shore, hammer sand spike - you are going nowhere fast. I always tie a float to the sand spike so it is clear something is in the water. Great products - well worth the money. They are built to last.
  6. I did not test drive a 233, but from what I understand the hull is the same as the 230, it is the top half that is different. Given no bow weight is necessary, I can't see any reason why a 233 would not be as good as a 230 - should be basically the same if equally weighted.
  7. A guy on eBay sells them. Any size. It had the silver block letters on it, they got banged up. I have always liked the classic logo so thre it on there. Wanted to break up the red.
  8. That is my old boat! I just traded it in! Yes Enzo on both sides. I moved plumbing from starboard over to port so dual fill on that side. Other one I did manually. Drain still connected on both very easy to move back. I believe they put in all new vinyl btw. You can look up my previous posts to see everything on the boat. Boat ran perfectly, only headache was tranny slow leak and that was 100% rebuilt and dry as a bone now. Eric surfing!
  9. I didn't buy a new Centurion, but if I did, I wish I lived nextdoor to Hillside Honda - those guys are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
  10. Interesting - I have sideswipe... which means no exhaust pushing at all... that could explain something.
  11. I have a trim tab, dual 1400lb enzo sacs, fill the starboard side only (gets about7/8 full) and no matter where I put the tab, there is prop spray coming up and really washing out the wave. It will basically hit you in the shins and mess up the surfer. The regular side/port side is second to none - with just a driver the sac fills quickly (dual pumps) and puts out still the best surf wave I've been on short of a 36' boat I rode behind, but starboard is not good. What kind of plate/tab setup do you have?
  12. I have an 05 right now, and our goofy side is big, it is just not clean at all. Massive amount of spray coming up from up. Looks like yours is much, much better than ours. Was there a design change I'm just not aware of that makes the newer enzo's better on that side - period? I thought it was still an issue?
  13. Still trying to nail down which boat I get. Obviously hearing all sorts of things out there.... Anyone have first hand experience or an opinion? I'd really like to be able to let people surf the goofy side on an Enzo and enjoy it... 1) Heard the adjustable rudder makes the goofy side just fine on the 2013? No need for the winged plate. 2) Head the winged-plate makes the goofy side better - must have. 3) Heard the winged-plate makes the goofy side better - but makes the regular side bad. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  14. I saw that - got same result. Hopefully they will either post the right link or let us know it is getting setup. Can't find any information on them.
  15. Nice - will come take a look Millenium. My thought on buying from the other other TX dealers is that it is fine - for the right deal - but once they are a couple hours away I might as well be buying from anywhere in the us. Really doesn't do much in terms of service - just as much on your own if you picked one up anywhere else. Plus the stock is pretty limited. Pretty much just ordering a 2013 new from them. Millenium what is your website?
