Impeller Rotation Direction
Tony A posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Ok, so I was winterizing my boat today which included changing my old impeller. I took the old one out and didn't pay attention to the rotation direction of it. Should I install the new impeller like the picture in photo 1 or photo 2 (see the attachments)? -

What's your favorite oil for your PCM engine?
Tony A posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
What oil does everyone like for their PCM Engine? I have a 2010 PCM ZR-409 that calls for 15W-40 GF-4/SM and I'm wondering what brand people like the best. Your thoughts would be appreciated. -
I have a 2010 avalanche with dual mid-ship hard ballast tanks and am looking for the best way to winterize the ballast tanks. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I can't wait to ride in it! Bring on the PCM 450! -
I have a 2010 Avy with the PCM 409, Pro-Vision I Dash and throttle by wire system and I just wanted to share a recent experience in case others ever have a similar problem. A while back my zero off cruise control, MPH digital gauge and compass quit working; however, the rest of the digital dash gauges/system worked fine. The problem ended up being a bad GPS puck that was causing all the issues. From what I understand, the GPS pucks have a battery inside them that was faulty on my boat. The GPS pucks also must be programmed for the computer you have in your boat. For instance, you have to have a differently programmed GPS puck for the Pro-Vision I vs the Pro-Vision II system. A big thanks to Les Clark, my local dealer, and Kevin for helping diagnosis and resolve the problem. The resolution definitely helps keep me loyal to the Centurion brand! I hope you find this post useful. Tony

I forgot to mention on my previous post that the pure-vert ballast system looks really cool. I can't wait to check that feature out. -

They sure have made some nice improvements since I bought my 2010 Avy. I really like the Pro-Vision II dash system, larger interior, redesigned rear pads (minus the raised cushion), ski pylon near the swim platform (out of the way), rubber strip by the swim platform to help protect the rear gel-coat, and cup holders by the swim platform. What i the control pad near the swim platform? Is it to control the radio? Has anyone seen the Pro-Vision II dash in action. Here are two things that I'm hoping they put in place that the Pro-Vision I dash does not have: 1. The system starts on the generic home screen each time you start the boat. This is slightly annoying since I like the "digital gauges" screen so it requires an extra button click each time I start the boat. 2. Not all screens show the trim tab gauge which is something I would like to see on every screen as I use it all the time. 3. While the Pro-Vision I system has a profiles screen, it can't be customized for riders, and it doesn't automatically set all the boat settings for each profile (e.g. trim tab position, ballast tank levels, etc). Does anyone have any experience with the Pro-Vision II system to see if they have addressed these items? Tower comments 1. Last time I checked, when the tower is folded down is sticks up about a foot above the windshield which means it won't fit into an 8' garage door. This is something I really wish Centurion would address since I don't want to leave a new boat outside. Does anyone know what the boat heights are with the new tower folded down? 2. I wish someone would come up with a boom for the new tower. Required by Kevin and I for barefooting purposes. When I bough my 2010 Avy I had to go with the Double Up tower due to the above two reasons. The new boats look sharp! -
To load the boat with people at the dock or on the trailer?
Tony A posted a topic in Centurion Boats General Discussion
So, is it ok to load all of the people in the boat while it is still on the trailer or should I wait until I back it in the water? I'm wondering if it is hard on the boat to have all the people weight in it while it's on the trailer? -
I have a 2010 Avy and experienced the exact same problem last weekend with it. The wire that connects to the zero off GPS puck under the dask was pulled to tight via a plastic tie and was only partially connected to the GPS puck. I reseated the connector and although I haven't yet had the boat back on the water I'm thinking that this will fix the issue. In my instance I also loosened the plastic tie to try and prevent the issue from happening again.

Best type of oil for the PCM engines?
Tony A posted a topic in Centurion Boat Maintenance, Performance, Troubleshooting
Ok, I'm nearing 25 hours on my PCM 409 motor and and wondering what everyone recommends as far as engine oil goes. The manual says to use 15W-40 but I'm wondering if I should use marine oil or if regular 15W-40 would be fine? Is there even such a thing as 15W-40 marine oil? -
Does anyone have boat seat cleaner that they swear by? I'm looking for something to use to clean the stubborn dirt that gets in between the seat cushions.

I solved my zero off cruise control issue today and I'm wondering if it would also solve yours for the perfect pass. The previous time out we stopped the throttle as soon as we got up to the desired speed and the cruise control system took over. Today we pushed the throttle on past the set speed and we experienced no surging.

Adjusting profiles in Pro Vision Dash
Tony A replied to dcoil's topic in Centurion Boat Accessories, Electronics and Modifications
I agree with Kevin that it would be nice if the pro vision dash would automatically fill the ballast tanks and set the trim tab. In order for this to happen I'm sure hardware upgrades would be involved to tie control of the ballast tanks and trim tab into the pro vision system which can currently only view the status of those two systems. -
My zero off GPS cruise control on my PCM 409 HP engine surges like you described. I've only had it out twice since I got the boat and the surging is noticable while riding in the boat; however, I did not notice it the one time I have been wakeboarding behind the boat when it was going 22 MPH.

I have both types of covers on my 2010 Avy and I love the full cover, I like the bow cover and hate the cockpit cover as the snaps get in the way. Even worse, the snaps near the rear of the boat are on the top surfuce that you step on so I would not recommend the cockipt cover for the Avy's. You also cannot tow with the factory installed cockpit cover as the snaps on the windshield will slide out and your cover will be left flapping in the wind. I learned that the hard way.
