XJ, glad to see you are making headway on your surfing journey! I think most of us here struggled a little in the beginning. It's a great feeling when you get to the point when you can predict how your wave is going to behave every time out so you can work on your skills! ?

Glad to hear the stinger helped......I haven't yet installed mine on my 226. I have tried a suck gate and it did really "suck" on my boat......Good feedback!

What was your result with the new stinger?

X2 on the plug wires......not likely, but possible if you just changed oil.

Going for a demo on a 2017 s238 Friday afternoon. It has upgraded 1000 pound sumos in the rear pnp's. I'm cautiously optimistic that I will like the wave but am skeptical at the same time because I feel spoiled by my dialed 226 wake. Any thoughts from you 238 guys?

Price point is the problem......well equipped G's or RI's are easily 20 to 30k plus higher in price vs. the 238's....... the new FI may be the cost effective choice for a 100k-ish.......lol......like that's cost effective?

Did you change the fuel filter at the same time as the oil change or was the fuel filter change a reaction to the surging problem......just asking.......

It surfs well.....the skim wave I would put in the very good catagory, but if you are a surf style rider, you will be left wanting......I personally like the 230 wave, its pushy and mellow at the same time.......great to learn on and great for a cruise......that said, it's not as tall of a wave as my 226......my sweet spot is a little longer and my wave is more forgiving in rougher water......if you're more of a boarder than a surfer, it's a great choice. The G23 may be a little better if you want the best of both worlds

Sounds like it could be a fuel pump or maybe even bad/water in gas......did this problem happen out of the blue?

This is great insight X.....thanks. I and my kids like to do a little wakeboarding and wakeskating ourselves......that being said, I'm still searching for the right weight balance to get a "good" wake. I can achieve an ok at best wake for boarding. I am kinda spoiled because we board behind my friends nautique 230 that throws a perfect wake every time......when it's time to surf, everyone comes back to the 226.....lol

It had 1000lb sumos in the rear but no lead........I have 500 lbs of lead plus 1000lb sumos in my 226. That's what it took to get the great height and length plus the push I wanted.....umm and 400lbs under the side seat and all hard tanks full. I am in agreeance with H when he said I wouldn't be blown away. Maybe a demo on the new FI would be more impressive????????

238 demo is complete.......nice, but I was not blown away in any aspect......quicksurf is pretty slick.....quickfill is nice.......the extra size is nice but it seemed like it sat in the water lower than my 226......that might have just been a perception thing..... not sure........I'm not sure if I would be stepping up waves or not.......I think I need to catch a ride from someone that has theirs dialed........bottom line......there wasn't enough of a difference from what I already have to justify the extra cash to trade.....

Oooooo......I see now looking a little closer that it does appear to be a little bit narrower.......☹️......my kids need a little more personal space....lol

It will be interesting to see what kind of wave the 224 can make when weighted to surf......the hull does look like a shortened 238 which has a nice wave. IMO, the wave of the 226 is pretty tough to beat for the money, but I agree, the layout isn't for everyone.

Do you think they are targeting the multi sport crowd?

To infinity's point, I hope if other 226 owners have had success with a shaper, let me know what you did.......

I have seen great results on several different boats using the delta.......that's why I was so surprised with my results. The 230 Nautique, Tige Z1, and Mastercraft X25 all have very good waves with the shaper. I completely understand that the 226's hull is designed way differently that the boats I mentioned. I tried to be as scientific as possible in the trial as well, being carful to only change one variable at a time. The one wild card in the trial was the water. It got choppy on us as we were playing around......that kills everyone's wave?

Is this model going to replace the 226?

I feel DrNate's pain.....the closest dealer to me is about five hours away.......It makes it tough when you need parts quickly. I used NWboats to order some stuff a couple of months ago and they were pretty good to work with......they are 1500 miles away from me but that really doesn't matter when parts are drop shipped. I suppose it's my bad for having the only Supreme in Nebraska!

Wow.....that clip gives me total anxiety! I had to load my old sterndrive boat at a ramp just like that in 3 foot swells during a thunderstorm........it ended well for my family and my boat (mostly due to my wife being the best boat captain I know) , but it is not something we want to do again! She timed the waves just right to drop the boat almost perfectly on the trailer! I love that girl!

I'm kinda scared to even price a new swim deck. It might be cheaper to trade boats! Lol
