  1. Towing with Toyota Highlander

My buddy uses a newer Highlander to pull his Lund 1850 tyee. That boat with gear is probably 3500 pound or so (just guessing). It pulls the boat ok but doesn’t like steep boat ramps. It’s pretty sketchy!
  2. Fresh Air Exhaust online ordering

When you get it figured out Honeybadger, let us know, because I want one for my 226 as well!?
  3. You might sleep better at night with draining/blowing out everything and not having to worry about it........it’s only an hour out of your life. I used to worry about my heated garage loosing heat.....if the boat is dry, no worries?
  4. A celebrity in our midst......Great job dude!
  5. If I can build something that works, I'll hook you up!
  6. It also looks like along with the radius instead of the sword shape, they have narrowed the wings a little as well..... probably the same overall width as before, but broke the edges down an inch or so?
  7. Great insight Infinity! Also great eye in spotting that the design has changed again on the "OE" stinger for '18. You nailed it about wanting to keep 1.0 for the simple fact that 2.0 might not be any better.... lol. I like the idea of adding more radius to the stinger and in doing that, shorting it a little. I see both Centurion and Tige are adding the little down-turn features on their plates now.....I might try that too.....
  8. Im not happy with mine right now.....I'm going to build a new one that is shorter.....I feel that it has killed the height of my wave when I have a small crew or windy conditions.....I hope to get a couple more trips this fall! I'll post results with new plate......
  9. Lead

I bought Pop products bags this spring and I've had no issues.......they are priced right and they ship really fast. http://pop-products.com/ if you search the web, they have a discount code out there somewhere.
  10. Great vid.......that thing is screaming while they're pulling the skier!
  11. Hmmmmm.....I'll look at mine this weekend and see if I can figure it out!!!!
  12. Fi23 first impressions

As a side note, it's crazy to think that a boat that a guy uses for maybe 4 months a year (50 to 75 hours) now costs more than what I paid for my first home 15 yrs ago? We all might be a little crazy!
  13. Fi23 first impressions

I kinda find it funny when you all talk about scheduling demos, the only local dealer we have is a Tige dealer and they really don't have much interest in demos at all......write them a check for 130k and they will take you out.......it's crazy! Not saying they are bad people, I really like most of them, but I have never been able to buy anything from them......like most of you, I want a ride before I buy!
  14. A vacuum leak can cause high idle as well....vacuum line, intake manifold gasket, etc...... you can spray a little carb spray around the intake while the engine is idling and if you have a leak, you should hear a change in rpm's.....I'm not sure what engine you have, but some models are prone to have intake problems.
  15. A little birdy told me that the 2018 B52 may have GSA inspired surf tabs but I haven't seen one to verify this?
  16. Bags Self Draining

Corks work........there's got to be a better way! It's hard to explain to the fat cats with the new RZX's and G's that I have to drink 2 bottles of wine to plug my drains before I can surf?
  17. Bags Self Draining

Ok, lakerat, ever since I have read this thread I have been noticing my boats purging of water while underway...... Mine comes from the drain pump circuit on my rear hard tanks that are piggybacked to my under seat sacs. I'm trying the redneck cork thing this weekend!
  18. Byerly speedster

I have a Byerly Volt and Buzz...... good boards for the money.....I thought..... that being said, I picked up a Doomswell Nubstep this summer for $475 to my doorstep...... way better board! Fast, light, and agile compared to the Byerly's. I would guess that a Soulcraft Secret Weapon would really blow me away! $900 is a lot of cash to throw at a board though......I can't keep raiding the kid's college fund......lol!
  19. My final conclusion of the stinger is that it was worth building. The main thing it has done is clean up the face of the wave. I would say it has gained me some length in the wave as well but I have had to put the bow weight I was hoping to remove, back up there.....I'll post pics over the weekend.
  20. Thanks for the update lakerat....I have the same boat/engine as you so I will try to remember your resolution!
  21. Ok......feedback time......I start with how the stinger impacted the wakeboard wake.....positive.......I filled stock ballast plus 250's under the side seats and 400lbs of lead in the bow walkway. Only needed 5 to 10% tab to get a pretty nice wake with a good shape. Next the surf wave?...... the jury is out......I had 600lbs of lead in the surfside corner plus 1000lb sumo. All stock ballast full. 375lb under surf side seat (regular) and 100 lbs in bow. Only one other person in boat. I could run 0 tab and get a fairly tall and pretty long wave. This worked ok for me and my new Doomswell Nubstep......not impressed though. I needed a bigger crew!..... my 12 yr old daughter loves a skim wake so I set the stinger at 40% and the wave was ok......it was long with pretty good push and not very steep at all, just like she likes....I hope to get it dialed for my preferred " big and long as possible" wave! I will keep working on it! First 2 pics are with stinger, Last pic is before the stinger!☹️
  22. Well, I'm finally in mockup mode......I narrowed my "wings" by 1.750 inches to allow for some exhaust flow from my turndown pipes.......four holes with stainless button head cap screws and I will be ready to lake test....... I hope to achieve the ability to remove 150 of the 250 lbs in my bow and move it to the surf side corner for a bigger, longer wave.......we will see! I will post results!
