  1. in the same conditions XJ? If there is a lot of wind or boats you definitely need to play with the trim tab a little more.
  2. Custom boards

yes. I can kick flip it but not land as well. Used to pull 180s but I haven't tried that in awhile because I think I'm pretty sure it's going to hurt a little more if I fall now rather than 20 years ago...haha I've tried to Ollie off the lip but the tail never comes off the wave.
  3. Custom boards

Nice! I'm on season 1 with my doomswell NEO. It's not a beginner board(As far as I know) and I do love it but I'm going to wait for next season to move up and try a SC. I'm having a ton of fun on the doom and actually love riding the 6'1 board too! I'm going to pick up a doomswell el jefe over the winter because I need a true wakesurfing long board. The 6'1 is a little too long and it's not a long board so I wipe out trying to ride the nose. I can't seem to get air on the neo though. That's been bothering me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't think it's the board but I'm missing something...
  4. What is the cost and is it just plug and play?
  5. Why is there a centurian AND a correct craft if they are the same company? http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/controls_sidemount_ski.htm
  6. I wouldn't. I love the throttle on this boat. It's better than my last 2 boats by a landslide. There's no reason to upgrade it at all. lol
  7. Custom boards

How did it go CO surfer? What you were riding before?
  8. I don't have any play in my throttle at all. A small tap with 1 finger will increase the speed. Mine also clicks back into neutral. I'm not sure on the difference still. I always show people how this boat has so much response with the throttle so I'm confused on the difference.
  9. Custom boards

There's two... Not sure on the difference. Maybe one set is just the 2017 version. That's what I think anyway... Futures Fins - Rasta Honeycomb Quad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007J5EQ1S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_D.HPzbC3B8973 2017 RASTA HC QUAD - BAMBOO/GREY https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074MGJT67/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oaIPzbKZQD2BR
  10. Custom boards

ok, so what fins should I upgrade to for my DS NEO and will I want to move them to the SC too? Not looking to drop 1k on a SC yet but I'll get fins if they will help me progress and if they will be what moves to the SC with me.
  11. Custom boards

Good info as always Cwazy. Are the soulcraft fins interchangeable? Does the board come with fins or am I looking at another $100 in fins? Will my doomswell futures fit on the soulcraft?
  12. Engine hours

If there is no counter on the boat somewhere, normally your dealer would have something they can connect to check. Not sure exactly what and it varies by brand but they know how to check it, somehow.
  13. Custom boards

Stoked - Thanks for the offer man. Wish I had more time to travel but my kids are 5 and 9 so we are in disney mode mostly...lol The NEO is a 4 fin setup and the two rear fins are little mini fins. Similar to the single little mini fin on a skim style board but maybe a little taller than those. Once I pulled those the board became much more loose and I was able to gain a ton more speed. with those fins on, it felt like I was riding on rails so pumping didn't give me much speed. CDifranco - what fins did you put on your NEO? I don't know much about fins. I figured fins are fins. didn't think they would make any real difference unless they were bigger or there were more or less of them. I think the doom boards all come with futures, which I thought was a good brand. Throw me a link to what you have!
  14. Custom boards

any info on the difference in ride based on your experience? I know the costs but looking to see if it's justified at my skill level.
  15. Custom boards

nice. I'm able to pump back up with my NEO too. My back leg gets tired because I'm on the brakes so much. I took out the rear two small fins.(did you?) I feel like it's real fast. Can't imagine it being faster but it's the only surfstyle board I have tried. Wish I knew someone on the east coast who had a soucraft so I could try it. I have nothing near me to demo at all, let along a soulcraft. I can't get air. I'm trying hard but the tail doesn't lift off. My 360s are decent but I don't ride away. This is my first season surfing so I'm not sure if I'm ahead or behind. I'd hate to spend 1k on something that I'm not sure i'll love. It's tough...
  16. Bags Self Draining

I only see some spill when we first start and it's because I max it out until I see it "pee" out the side.(that's what we call it.) Haven't seen anything other than that. Mine are 700s though. I'm not sure how much larger the 1100s are or where the drain hose is.
  17. My rubrail is about an inch from the water and my platform is probably almost knee deep or just below it. The boat is perfectly fine. It would take 3-5x more weight to really cause a problem. the boat is built for this stuff. I surf at 11.1mph. The midship bags are key to not having to drive with the bow in the air. I can see in front of me still without an issue. There are guys here who have 1100s in the rear lockers. My 700s fill it. the 1100s can't even fill all the way and they also push against the wall and eventually break it, which is more of a problem and more likely than sinking the boat because of too much weight.
  18. I'm new to all this as well but was asking the same questions last Christmas. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't just put the most weight possible and why an expensive machine doesn't have what it needs. There are a few reasons and some may be speculation. First and most important, if and when you add all the extra weight, you are definitely over the weight capacity, and technically illegal. Although no one is going to weigh your boat, the manufactures can't send boats out knowing the weight is over what it should be. Anyway, the stock wave even with 3-4 people on the boat is nothing compared to the upgraded wave. I have the wakemakers upgrade, which bumps the rear sacks to 700s and adds midship bags that are about 350, I think. I also have 500lbs of lead in the rear. When it's just me, my wife and kids(they are little), and 1 friend, I also fill a 450lb sumo sack and put it on the floor. It becomes an addiction QUICK. I had a bunch of people out last night and didn't fill the sumo sack because my buddy weights about 280 and we had another 5 people onboard. The wake with the upgrades is awesome. The boat doesn't struggle at all and we have had some insane surf nights this summer. Check wakemakers. I don't think you can get much for $400, that will really make the difference you are looking for, unfortunately. Personally, I'd save on the nauticurl and put that money into bigger rear sacks and lead. I don't feel like I wasted any money upgrading and buying lead. If you think the wake is nice now, then the upgraded wake will blow your mind. The difference is VERY noticeable.
  19. There is NO overfill out the side for the QF tanks. I don't even think that would happen running 10mph backwards, if that's even possible with all that weigh in the boat... Haha whoever told you that is either confused or a schmuck. I was just out tonight and again, I hear nothing from my vents... I tried listening but nothing. I go by my platform compared to the water level like cwazy does... Heavy wind tonight so used more trim tab and ran with the wind but still got a good workout.
  20. I'm new too and as far as I can tell, you really can't tell other than knowing your boat. For example, I fill my hard tanks when we swim so my kids can get on and off the platform easier. I know what my platform and wave looks like when they are full and I know it takes about 2 minutes 30 seconds to fill them. As long as you aren't moving it's filling whether you are on fill or empty. I have read some saying they can hear the air exiting the vents but I've tried putting my ear right up to it when it's filling and I hear nothing, and I'm sure people are seeing me saying, "what is that idiot doing?" lol Maybe someone else has more info? @Cwazy1 @H20 KING
  21. Any suggestions?

I have the same issue and my wave is huge and long. I over rotate or get stuck backwards. I'm on a surfstyle board though.
  22. my normal crew is my wife driving and 2(little) kids. But, because of that I do put a 450 sumo on the floor. Now I'm just so used to it that I fill the sack even when I have 3 guys on the boat. I guess once you start something that works or makes it better, you just keep doing it. Sounds like the surf devices are no different. I'm going to stay away from it though. I've been REALLY happy with my boat and wake since figuring things out.
  23. I'm not sure why you need that on a 16/17 s238. Are you running stock ballast? I thought these things were for boats without surf systems or ballast. I see no need for it on my 17 s238.
  24. No regrets

    11.1 here...
  25. I don't. Never even tried. I don't own a wakeboard anymore. I'm sure I'll get another one eventually but not this summer. For me, it's all about surfing. I was wake boarding at 17(I'm 38) so it's old news for me. Letting go of the rope and riding free of anything like the ocean is where it's at for me. I grew up surfing so that 10-20 second ride(on a good day) that is now 5 minutes or until my back leg gets tired, is just insane for me. I'm constantly on my back leg slowing down at this point. My push is awesome. By the time I fall I'm out of breath.
