  1. XJ - Call supreme directly. When I was buying my boat I called them and I was able to get the regional sales rep to call me.(Not that my dealer wasn't awesome but I didn't know them well and I wanted to ask direct questions) He will take care of you. The dealer should be taking care of it and supreme PAYS them an hourly rate to do so.(and sends them the parts needed, if any)
  2. Cover

If it's getting winterized and you aren't using it over the winter then you don't need a heater. My boats have always been shrink wrapped. My Supreme is already done and in my yard. The shrink wrap is right over the tower. We have cold winters here with quite a bit of snow. My dealer hung an extension cord out for me to charge it every once in awhile. They should also hang some of those dry bags inside the shrink wrap to absorb any moisture. I've never had mold inside of any of my boats. They should make sure the pumps and hoses have no water, and winterize the heater if you have that as well. Basically, getting all the water out of everything is the goal.
  3. I hear ya. I would be pretty pi$$ed if that was happening to me as well. Sounds like a $hit a batch was sent out by you, somehow. You are taking it better than me. I'd probably be trying to tell the dealer I want a full refund. If you are ever in the NJ/NYC area send me a message and we'll go out. I'm guessing the issues you are having are effecting the wake board wake as well but I'd have to play with that more to see if I can get good results. I'll try in April. I hope is all works out for you man.
  4. I have seen very few unhappy and those who are have either had some odd issues that none of us are having and/or are just not getting the setup right. Before buying mine I started a thread here about it(It's down low somewhere). I was worried about a lot of things, such as the wave size and dropping the rope. This was my first season. I'm glad I looked into it so much but I can't say enough good things about the boat. I stuck my first 360 on the very last trip out(about two weeks ago now). If you were near me(NJ) I'd invite you out. The boat is awesome from top to bottom. Only side note - I have NOT ridden the wakeboarding wake but, are you going to go pro? If not, I think you will be fine with it. You definitely aren't going to get anywhere near the same surf wave on those other boats. Another local has an axis and their wave is $hit compared to mine. Hate to compare but when you are out there and see another person surfing, you just watch for a bit.
  5. New boat

Took this screenshot just now.... click choose files... Added one or two of me from last Saturday too. CONGRATS on the new boat! Welcome to the club!
  6. New boat

I post directly from my phone too. I did before being a supporting member, I think. I'll hop on my phone and see if I can track what I do...
  7. oh and let's see your boat and wave! Post your setup!
  8. My boat will be shrink wrapped in the off season. It's the best way to keep it nice while staying outdoors. Since you have a chance at using it over the winter, you wouldn't want to do that, I guess. I don't think rain water is going to hurt anything. Your cover may not last as long but you are able to surf during the winter so that's worth it. If you want to protect the cover a bit , throw a huge tarp over it too. It will keep any freezing rain or hail of it and definitely extend it's live. Tarps are cheap. That's my advice.
  9. Lead

Ok, so I have the wakemakers upgrade in the works. I'm about to buy some lead too. I'm on http://www.pop-products.com/our-products.html. They are saying they suggest max 400lbs. I was going to buy the 520lbs package. Do I need the 800lbs? Is this the lead you all are buying? Their website is a little plain but lead is lead, right? I thought there was another company but not sure what it was called or what's better/who's better to buy from. Let me know! Thanks! Mike
  10. New boat

Once you surf that wave(especially ropeless) you will be hooked. My wife and I aren't pontoon fans at all. They are docks with engines. Lame in my opinion. It's hardly a boat... This was our first summer with a surf boat and although we have had boats for years, I've never had so much fun than this summer. Depending on your weight and board riding skill(have you ever snowboarded?) it will take a few trips to drop the rope. Most of my surfing (3-4x per week) is with just my wife driving the boat and my kids playing and yelling things to me. I throw a few dabs while I surf and they crack up.(They are little, 5 and 9) The memories this summer have been great. I don't think you will regret the s238 purchase. It's more of a surf boat than a wakeboard boat but unless you think you are going to go pro there is nothing wrong with wakeboarding. I used to wake board and knee bord off of a bass boat and had a great time. Your price point for a 2017 238 is somewhere between 75k-90k depending on where you live and how long you wait. If you look in November and take whats on the lot, you will probably get a good price. BUT, you won't be able to demo in November if you have a REAL winter where you are from. Just demo now. Best of luck!
  11. New boat

The prices are REALLY odd... For example, the same boat I purchased here on the east coast with the same options could end up maybe 10-15k higher on the west coast because of the tax rate and who knows what else. Also, if you are buying a surf boat, when you finally drop that rope, you will never look back. On the other hand, if your focus isn't surfing or even wake boarding, you could get a very nice family boat for less then the s238 will cost you. Surf and wake board specific boats are more expensive because of the technology for those specific sports. Freebies with boats are normally anchor, buoys, rope, life jackets. All things that will probably cost you another 500-1k out of pocket. For this boat, it's probably going to be you working in the lighting package or maybe a ballast upgrade. It's not far from buying a car...
  12. New boat

Isn't Quick surf a "surf option with tabs"?
  13. New boat

Agreed! Tell them to throw in a board or two as well!
  14. New boat

I love my 17 s238. Looks like the 18 is pretty much the same with a different graphic and the odd ski pole option that will make toy break a toe. The 16 has no screen, different tower and different windshield. I like my tower and windshield. Some don't, although they haven't even tried it. Id say 10-15k off if you could settle for what they have on the lot in November. There are dealers here who may have more info but they don't post much. Where are you located? I can pass you my dealer's info if you are on the east coast.(northeast)

    $200.00

  16. Nice. We bring a 6'1 ocean board out just about every trip. I'm riding it once or twice a week. I'd say a 4'6 is way too small. I'm riding a 4'8 NEO at 210lbs. Took me a bit to figure out how to drop the rope too. I started with a full wetsuit back in April. It's my first season with a surf boat and an inboard too! I always had an I/O(The boats that actually turn in REVERSE! HA). I'm literally going through the same as you this year. The 4'6 I tried a few weeks ago was rated for 180lbs or so and it worked but it wasn't that enjoyable. I think you need a board in the 5'0-5'2 range. There are some other guys here who will have more info than me. I'm just going off my experience and reading here a $hit ton. I was out tonight. It was just my wife and 2 little kids in the boat and I just surfed until I was out of breath. Just rained so the water was glass and no one was out but me and a pontoon. I checked the fins. They are WTC Futures. Pretty sure it's these. They said WCT on them. No F4/F3 - https://www.amazon.com/Futures-WCT-Honeycomb-Medium/dp/B0716FKKKY/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1505436972&sr=1-4&keywords=WCT+futures
  17. I've been ocean surfing since I was around 7th grade. We have a summer house across the street from the beach(literally) so I spent a lot of time surfing.(Seaside Heights, right where they filmed the "Jersey Shore" show) It's no where near the same. I thought it was going to be close to the same but it's not. the only thing that is the same is that I came into this with the board sport skill so I wasn't just holding the rope like a statue. First time out I was able to rip in and out of the wave(while holding the rope). I don't know if I would blame the fins or board on the "push". It's either the wave or where your weight and foot placement are. @Cwazy1 helped me a lot when I started. He can tell you how I was blaming the wave, board and boat for awhile. It was none of those things. I'd send him video and he would laugh and know it was me. lol What's your weight Rhino? I'm 5'7 210 or so. I was able to ride a hammerhead ropeless and it's for up to 180lbs I think. Push was fine and I was ropeless no problem.
  18. I switched to something. I don't even know what..haha BUT, yes, I didn't expect to REALLY notice but I did. I've been getting out at least 3-4 times per week all summer. I work from home 2 days a week so I head out work nights too. It just felt like I had more control. I don't even know how to explain it. My speed was the same. I constantly need to hit the brakes or hit the boat. My back leg/quad starts to burn long before my front. When I first dropped the rope consistently(end of May?) my front leg was always burning but now it's my back leg so the FINS didn't change that. (Or I didn't notice the speed difference) Might rain tonight but if not I'll have my wife take some video so I can really see if I see a difference in watching myself. I know I never sprayed that much water off the top so I doubt I was cutting back as hard. I don't know if they are angled differently or what. I bought them from Stoked and he gave me a great deal since he wasn't using them anymore.
  19. I went out last night and tried the new fins on my doomswell NEO. I can't say I understand the science behind it yet but the difference was huge. My wife was watching and my buddy was driving and they said I was really moving around the wave much easier. They also noticed(I did too) that I was throwing a ton of water over the lip that they haven't seen before. I was able to cut back much harder and rip it off the top. Still no AIR but I was focused on the 360 last night. I don't know if it was the fins but I wasn't getting thrown off the board when trying to spin. I was making it all the way around and then just not riding away!
  20. Duck confit?

I used to love ducks, until they started $hitting on my platform. Can't stand them now...
  21. Can someone break down the difference between soulcraft, chaos and Blu surf? These three seem to be the leading custom board makers but what is the difference? How do I know when I should put that kind of money into a board over my doomswell neo?(which I love) what differences am I really going to notice? Anyone out there try all 3 by any chance? I've ridden... Doomswell neo 4'8, phase 5 model X, phase 5 hammerhead, 6'1 ocean board. Thanks!
  22. I know. I'm not interested in running 4. If I do, I'd just use the 2 that came with it. I'd only do that for a newbie and I've actually had a few people try with just the 2. They don't make it far(If they even get up!) anyway so 2 fins wouldn't have helped...lol Wife said the package came today so I'm itching to go home and check it all out!
  23. Custom boards

Makes sense. I'm going out tomorrow night so I'll give it a try! Thank you!
  24. Awesome to hear. Just bought a set from @stoked for my NEO. I don't have another surf style board to compare my NEO to and wasn't ready for a custom board so Fins were the way to go. Package comes today and I'm going out tomorrow right after work! In my mind, I can't see how fins make a difference but I can't wait to try it. Did you use all 4? I didn't like the quad setup the NEO came with so I pulled the back two fins(little) off after maybe 3 trips to the lake. It was too locked in for me. It was hurting my ability to learn and then navigate the wave. Sometimes when I was about to lose the wave, I felt like I needed to be able to put the board back quick and those little fins took away that mobility.
  25. I have a 17 s238. I turn on cruise control and quick surf, fill and run a 10 second test. All I play with is the trim tab and unless it's windy it's usually the same. It's VERY consistent for me. I tried my goofy side wave for the first time last night and had someone surfing right away. I'm not sure why some have more issues than others. I'm in love with the boat.
