  1. I run 2 1100s in my boat and don't have any issues. I did change my prop to an ACME 1619 to help get out of the hole easier and up to surf speed faster. The 537 (all around prop) was struggling if I didn't have anyone in the bow. You'll probably want to reinforce the engine dividers. My starboard divider will pop out all the time until I added the brace kit from wakemakers.

Hey I've tried to install a home made wake gate on my 2006 sv230 and the rear of the hull has slight curved at the lower section of the hull preventing the suction cups from sucking to the hull.  Then when I stick the suction cup to the flat portion of the hull located directly above the previous location it sucks right onto the hull.  So I am wondering if the naticurl has smaller or better quality suction cups that suction on to the lower slightly curved portion section of the hull.  Any suggestions???

Ran into a similar issue with mine but I replaced the Sideswipe with a FAE. One cup was higher because of the block off plate and I couldn't get the other cup to attach. Solved this by cutting off the handle so I had to individual cups and then reattached them together but with longer material in between each so I could get enough leverage to move and position the front cup to attach to the hull.

  3. I've got the same boat and just recently switched from a listed wave (1100lb port rear locker, 580lbs under port bench plus crew) and just couldn't get enough push in the wave. Now I'm running an 1100lb bag in each rear locker and a homemade suckgate and it made a huge difference. There's so much push now it's hard to slow down enough without getting right up on the swim platform. I just re-proped the boat because the Acme 537 that was on it was struggling to get to surf speeds without any bow weight but adding bow weight flatted out the wave and killed the push. Now that the Acme 1619 is on the boat (awesome prop btw) I'm going to play around with adding the 580 back into the mix but will likely start off with it in the center of the boat.

You guy's should be starting help me surf  threads  instead of blaming  the Enzo.  It's wake has tons of push as is  with just ballast.  Post up some video  and we can give you some pointers.  Does  not matter how you set  up the boat if you don't have the correct fundamentals down your results will be the same.

I've got video of my buddy riding behind my boat & the FX-22 last summer; I'll post those later and would be interested in getting pointers based on what you see.

My previous boat was on 07 SV230 and we have an amazing port side wake. We pulled the tank that was under the seat behind the driver and replaced it with a 400# sac. A few hundred pounds of lead between the two port sacs or a couple people sitting in that corner helps. We had gps PP so speed was 11.5 mph for steep wake and 11.2 for a little softer. Wakeplate around 25%. The only time we used ballast in the bow was when there were lots of passenger in the back.

Once I get the boat back from the detail shop, I plan to test the PP against a phone app for speed accuracy. I have a fixed trim-plate so nothing I can do there but good to know the results with a similar weight set-up.,

I disagree I have a factory surf system and don't use it. My advice is work on the  basics of surfing. If you are just standing there expecting the wave to push you  work on progression. 9.5 mph is way to slow most of us ride between  11 and 11.5 mph. The Enzo should put out a awesome wave with the setup you have  just sounds like you have not learned how to utilize it yet.

I feel like we've got the basics down as we were surfing behind an FX-22 last summer before I bought my boat last October. I haven't been able to surf behind my boat as I had surgery April 3rd to re-attach my bicep tendon, so I've been going off of what it looks like when my buddy is behind the boat and what he feels while surfing compared to last summer. So there is definitely the possibility he needs to work on the fundamentals again since it's been a while.

Or just blame it on the board. I did for the first season I was learning.  My wife and friend could ride it no problem without the rope but my big tush was struggling on the small hyperlite skim style board that came with the boat.  After the first season I was able to ride ropeless but Im still not really able to carve like I want or even ride that long before eventually washing out the back.

The board is a P5 58" Model X, so unfortunately I know it will hold both mine and my buddy's weight as we're both over 220lbs. I supposed we could try to loose weight but who wants to give up beer???

Same boat/year as yours and I fill my enzo sac till the rub rail touches the water.  Ours is taller and about the same length as yours from what I can see in the video.  I still notice the push is not super strong and have to really work to keep up with the boat. Lol, I've blamed boards and changed to little success, this year I'm trying a suck gate to see if it'll help

Rhale- let me know your thoughts once you change over to the suck gate.....

i was having the same issue with my boat as well i was running 1100 in port locker 250 in center 250 under seat- port 250 ontop of seat 450 in ski locker and it was punting up a nice wake for me about 9-10.2 mph but just not long enuf could lose sweet spot very easy im 6ft.5 195lbs soo big guy so i bought Ronix Wakesurf Shaper and now i run both rear lockers full 1100 in each and 250 in center and will have one or 2 people sit up front or i will throw a 250 up front but not needed and before i had to stay right behind the boat now i can get a good 6ft back or more and keep it i had to lean how to have the brake on all the time bec there is soo much push all the time it made the sweet spot amazing and it was by far the best investment ive ever spent on my boat and nice i have way more seating room and not haft to lean the boat to one side when im done empty tanks and im done no more moveing bags around or anything GO with the Sharper you wont regret it all all

Top pic is at 11.5mph way too fast for me to surf

bottom pic is at 9.5 mph its way taller longer and clean my wife is about 115 lbs and she can get back a good 7-10 feet about 10.5mph  hope this helps

Great info; thanks for the feedback! There's a big difference in the wave between those photos.

  8. The boat is an 06 SV230 with 1100lb bag in the port rear locker and 580lb bag under the seat on the port side both were completely full and there was an addition 215lb human ballast on the port side. The sweetspot seems to be right behind the boat and not very forgiving. Comparing my wave to an FX-22 I surfed last year the FX-22 wave had more push further back but I don't know how it was weighted.

WakeMakers suggested putting in another 1100lb bag on the starboard side, using a wake shaping device and possibly putting the 580lb bag in the bow. I'm not really sure what the best option is but I know this boat can make killer wave once I get it right.

    Any suggestions?

  9. Before I bought my boat (06 Enzo 530 hrs) I was seeing similar 06 Enzos with an asking price between $39-42K; if you got your boat any where between low and average retail retail you got a good deal.

I wouldn't be worried about the hours; it averages out to 50ish a year which is nothing. Over 500 hours used to be a lot before wake surfing became so popular but I know a guy with an Fx-22 & another guy with an 2013 SV233 and they have 750ish & 900-ish hours respectively. With anything it's all about the maintenance; if you keep up with the maintenance you should be able to get 1500-2000 hours easy out of that motor before a rebuild.

  10. I forgot to mention in my previous post that the Sideswipe doesn't work which is the main reason I decided to go with the FAE and it takes up a lot of room in the rear locker that doesn't allow the 1100lb sac to fully fill.

I decided to scrap running both of the pumps to the 1100lb in the port rear locker & instead am adding a 580lb bag under the port bench seat that I'll hook up the starboard pump to.

DjOM21- good catch on the bimini; that's how the dealership mounted it.

  11. Just purchased a 2006 SV230 Enzo and had it delivered to Georgia from Arizona. After replacing all the fluids, I got to take it out this past weekend and it runs awesome. Looking forward to next summer.

Over the winter months I've got the following upgrades planned:

    1. FAE to replace the sideswipe exhaust
    2. Wakemakers 1100lb Tankbuster bag upgrade (rest of the ballast *600ish lbs* will be in 50lb shot bags)
    3. Stereo

    Couple of questions:

    1. Inside the hull of the boat in front of the gas tank there are the two ballast fill/drain lines and a t-handle that looks like a dipstick....anyone know what the t-handle is for? Also are there seals that need to be checked and replaced on the ballast drain/fill lines? I think I'm getting water leakage in that area.
    2. I'm not worried about the goofy-side wake and am thinking about extending and running the starboard ballast pump lines to the bag in the port locker. My thinking is having both pumps filling and draining the bag will significantly reduce wait times but is this over kill?

I'm on Lake Allatoona if any one is local.
